I do enjoy this drama, but there are also some dislikes. I feel like the story itself is a bit dull and doesn't tell a developing story that captures the viewer. It's missing some elements that make it more thrilling. Many of the great xianxia's have a crucial hidden identity element that comes as a surprise. Also the main villain seems too obscure now when almost 3/5 of the episodes have aired.
This is alright, but it's not great, and the MDL rating of 8.2 is too high, maybe 7.8 is more appropriate. It's clearly a low budget drama, and editing and flow is strange sometimes.
The first episode is strange too, because it starts with a scene where she is already "possessed" by the soul of Xiao Tan and trying to flee over the wall. But there is no build up towards that.
Take a similar soul-change as an example (Scarlet Heart, Mr. Queen), there is some build up in the modern time with the character having an accident that lands the character in another person in ancient times (usually that person having attempted suicide). But that is totally missing. There is some flashback scene that takes place in modern times, like a dream scene, but that happens like in 2nd or 3rd episode and totally out of context.
Then there is some strange side-story of some demon king and his two demon underlings in the mortal realm, that can't seem to defeat one mortal in combat. (whenever has that happened in xianxia?)
But it's a low budget drama, and it smells like it. Very few characters/actors, you notice this because no scene involves more than a handful of actors. Laminated parquet flooring is so visible, making the stage very artificial. And you notice some props having obvious modern era manufacturing.
And I mentioned the editing being strange. Like in one moment that FL is with her sister, she gets assassinated, and 3 seconds later the FL is back to her own home... there was apparently no aftermath of the assassination of her sister and everyone forgot about it.
But they still do an alright job. The actress for the FL does an amazing job keeping me interested enough to watch.
But sometimes I feel like there is only a thin background story/plot, and not a very interesting one. And I don't know who the antagonist is.
So far this drama is being carried by scenes involving snarky dialog between the young ladies. Princess Yuchang is a good character, the actress Cui En Ci does a good job portraying a spoiled brat princess. Strange that she's 28 and this is only her 2nd drama after Who Rules The World.

Great character princess Yuchang in Love like the galaxy. She's 28 but still this is only her 2nd drama, and really a first big role. I wonder what she's been doing up until now.
I am half way through and I am a bit unclear about the family relationship between the ML and the emperor, how are they related? And how is the ML's mother related to the emperor?
I a bit confused about the ending. Maybe someone can explain it to me. How did they live?
Thanks. It baffled me for a while, but I think I understand, but I will still rewatch the finale to clarify things. Actually this drama had many satisfying endings, so I'm not complaining :)
Pretty good cdrama. Funny as well, with some more serious undertone. I hope it doesn't get darker or something. I do get some Story of Ming Lan vibes, some similarities in the story, but Love Like the Galaxy is much fluffier and easier to watch, not as serious, but still very well produced.
I decided to watch this because it's so highly rated and stars Dilraba Dilmurat (a fav actress).
It's quite fluffy, cute, silly and light, but I think this high rating is undeserving. Maybe it's highly rated because of the actors being popular. I haven't finished, I'm on episode 23 of 32, but I think I have watched enough to form a opinion. It's maybe a 8.1-8.2 drama, not the high 8.8 which I think should be reserved for only the very best dramas.
Also what bothered me were these ad-placements of some sort of milk drink called "purjoy", I just kinda laughed it was so obvious it was an ad and it kinda broke the immersion. A drama with a rating of 8.8 shouldn't have these silly ad-placements.
Overall it's a fine romance drama, but the high rating is not accurate. This is not a masterpiece, just a very generic romance drama.
It's not often I say a drama has too high of a rating, I usually enjoy most of what I watch, usually agree with the MDL rating, and often also disagree with a low rating. But rarely have I seen a drama with such a undeserving high rating.
Yet another amazing xianxia drama. Dilraba Dilmurat is such a great actress, very very likeable. I was deciding between like 6 different dramas to watch, but decided to watch this because of her.
i actually enjoyed the support roles in the Shrek Seven Devils team, each with their unique personalities, backstories…
Yea, I finished the drama. It did get a little boring when those seven devils were being introduced because the ML and FL were like extras at that time. But overall the drama was alright, although I found that this was targeted more towards younger audiences, teens.
