Truly the only drama I had massive second lead syndrome & seriously hate it for the sole purpose of Han jipeong…
He did one thing wrong: going and finding a fake Ji Pyong in the first place. It was completely unnecessary. He had no reason to do that and should instead have just showed up at the party himself as the real Han Ji Pyong to help Dal Mi save face. There is only one reason he didn't: writing stupidity. And that foundational stupidity remains all the way through to the end of the drama and ruins what might otherwise be the greatest first episode of all time.
The love triangle and second lead syndrome was clearly intentional. They led us to believe that HJP was main lead.…
Fair review. This drama was an exercise in "writing hubris" and it doesn't work. Without bias, the whole thing ends up rather insulting to the audience.
That said, this still has one of the best first episodes in kdrama history.
The comments here are wild. I feel like I'm the only person who thought this was just an ok, somewhat forgettable drama. Everyone else is like it's a 0 or a 10
are all Koreans alcoholics? Even athletes drinking beer and soju in every episode.
You can't accurately judge a culture by its television, but... yeah, I have asked the "are all Koreans alcoholics" question myself many times over the hundreds of kdramas I have seen. It really is absurd, and one of the only things I dislike about kdrama at large is the prevalence of using drunkenness to get the characters to be honest. It's sad.
Ah, 2016. Those halcyon days when I watched this and was tricked into believing that Nam Joo Hyuk can act. I can't believe it took six years after this before he did any actual acting again.
