This gets compared to City Hunter a lot, and it is FAR FAR superior to City Hunter in every way........ except action scenes, lol. Still, by kdrama standards of the era, the action isn't bad. Most action dramas of this time were much worse at action AND didn't even come close to the quality storytelling and character work that Healer gives us.

I think the message of the drama is a good one, but they don't take the time to really delve into the WHY behind some of the MLs terrible decisions. You can figure it out, but because the drama lingers a LONG TIME on the negative effects of his decisions, they should have lingered more on what motivated them.

Lee Jin Wook was accused of sexual assault in the past, if that helps clear up your confusion about the hate. Doesn't help that the OTP really is an unhealthy relationship for most of the show, although their healing and growing together is sort of what the drama is about.
