Good movie. Good actors. Very heartfelt. I would love to see this as a drama series with a more developed story and characters. It’s so hard to watch a (short) two-hour movie these days when there are so many 12 to 80 hour dramas that encompass so much detail of the story.

Excellent movie. A must watch (warning—some graphic violence). I recommend this movie and I will watch it again. The actors were very good and the music should have received an award. There were some tragic scenes, but in the end it was very inspiring to see how a country can unite together against a cruel enemy. Way underrated. I gave it a 9.0. I would love to see this as a full kdrama series..

Watched for the third time in 10 years. Still one of the best. Loved every episode. Never a dull moment. I love the storyline and the actors and the leads are perfect. I hope they make more dramas like this in the future. I’m so glad that I got to watch it again. I changed my rating from a previous 9.0 to 10.0. if you’re debating whether to watch it now, I would say go for it. It’s a must watch in my opinion. Much better than many other things I have currently watched. Enjoy! 👍

Excellent drama! Only eight episodes and I’m hoping to see the next three seasons. I hope it’s not just one season per year but I will wait. I wish I hadn’t seen this until they were all out.—Ha! This is a must watch Kdrama. I rate it 10+

I really like Lee Min Ho as an actor and yes, he is also very attractive. (I have watched all of his dramas. )

I have not watched this latest drama yet but I have been waiting for another drama with Lee Min Ho. I am looking forward to watching it.

This was not a hot, passionate love story as the title suggests. I liked the actors and the drama, but it needs a more appropriate title. Did not like the intros to every episode and I especially do not like the way Viki distracts and ruins the last few episodes of every drama by Not waiting until the very end to do its thankyous and credits for subtitles. It is so frustrating every time!

This series was very captivating. it’s hard to get everything perfect, but I looked forward to each of the 43 episodes and really liked all the actors. The acting in the last episode was unbelievably good. I think that the two leading actors Xiao Zhan and Ren Min) and Alen Fang should all get awards for their amazing performances—just in that episode alone! It was worth watching. I’m sure I will watch again and highly recommend this drama.

PS why is this so underrated? It makes no sense unless people just don’t like long dramas!? It should have nothing less than a 9.0– I rated it 10!

I like the actors and the storyline overall but it was really dragged out and too slow,. But I made it to the end I think because I just like this music genre so much. The ending was okay but kind of draggy like the rest of the episodes. I think they could haves done so much more with this drama. Like some really cute scenes as in Naeil’s Cantabile kdrama.

I AM ALSO STILL HATING THE STUPID McDONALDS COMMERCIALS —REPEATED POP-UPS ON MYDRAMALIST. IT IS SO ANNOYING THAT I AM LOOKING FOR A SIMILAR PROGRAM TO USE INSTEAD. (SORRY, BUT I JUST CANT TAKE IT ANY MORE!!)

I really liked the storyline, music and actors.The “Script” angle was a different and entertaining twist. The beginning and ending episodes were good, but there were a few that kind of dragged in the middle. I really liked the ending and would have liked a few more episodes. It had some very funny moments and it was overall worth watching at least once.

PS I am very irritated that the Viki channel is still displaying large in-your-face credits for subtitles during the drama and especially on the last episode. it is very distracting and totally interrupts and ruins the end of the drama. It makes no sense. They could show the credits After the last episode. :(

I was hooked way before episode 14!

Really good drama. I looked forward to every episode. Good actors, storyline and music. I would watch it again.
Both Parts 1 & 2 were shown together, one after the other on Viki. But I have to say again—while I really appreciate those who do the subtitles, I still extremely dislike the translator credits splashed on screen during various episodes and especially during the final episode, instead of at the very end. It really does ruin the mood and it’s one of the reasons that I watch any drama on a different channel if I have that option. Sorry, but it makes no sense whatsoever (from a viewer’s perspective) and is very disruptive to the story.
(Does anyone know if this is a compensation issue in place of paying translators what they deserve? I have read that before.) Forgive the rant, but I couldn’t hold it in any longer after another ruined ending of such a good show. 🥹

I really enjoyed this drama. The storyline was excellent and all the characters were perfectly cast. This was so good and I know that I’ll be watching it again. If yo are trying to decide whether or not to watch this, I highly recommend that you start it now. (:

Under “related content” above, it says that there is a season two and I am a bit confused. Have they already made it or is it coming in the future?

I love “Mr Sunshine”. It’s a forever favorite—I’ll always rewatch at least every year!

I rarely watch tragedies, but I have seen this drama several times—just finished it again. It is one those Kdramas that you just can’t forget with its intrigue, constant twists and surprises. The actors are excellent and I highly recommend it as a “must-watch.”

this is impossible. I am so frustrated. There are so many ads that I can’t read or write reviews. And now I’m done after many years it’s too bad, but I’ll find another way to track the dramas I watch. I have had to reload re-write and redo everything at least 20 times during this review just because there are so many McDonald’s ads that pop up.

Good storyline and actors. I like the music, but it was too long in certain places. It felt a little too drawn out, but other than that I liked it. I gave it an 8.4 out of 10.
