This is the comment I was looking for. Thank you for explaining the frustration felt while watching this. i honestly…
I’ll never give up! Even if it is not exactly the same, someone will come up with a story like the sequel and satisfy everyone’s frustration. It’s a success waiting to happen!

better read the novel. second part would probably not be shown coz of the plagiarism scandal
at this point, I’m almost ready to write my own version of what season two would be?

been 6 years since the making of the drama, so highly likely there won't be any S2
You never know! We can keep hoping.

I need an encouragement to watch this drama. I absolutely adore ZLY and when this was announced I was so excited…
This is one of my top dramas. I keep going back to watch and I keep checking MDL to see if there’s anything else happening with this. it’s such a shame they didn’t make the sequel in the beginning. But I keep coming back and hoping that someone will find a way to continue and make a season two. It would be so wonderful. 🙏

I’m not sure how to describe this drama. It really was amazing on one hand—I loved all the teenagers discovering their superpowers and their parents’ stories. On the other hand, the violence is heavy and dreadful. This is not light violence. It is hard-core painful to watch, bloody, gory and torturous. I have watched other violent movies, and managed to sit through them, but I found myself cringing and fast forwarding through most of the scenes with fighting and gore. It would have been such a great drama and I would have definitely given it a 10 if not for the graphic violence. I thought the actors were excellent. The filming and music were well done, and I would almost want to watch this again, but I really don’t think I could. The love story in episodes eight and nine was good with little to no violence, and I sincerely think they could make an entire drama out of that story alone.

I tried to be open minded, and I really did see only one episode, but (sorry) I dropped this after the first episode. At first I was excited to see the sequel was finished, and there were several similarities with the actors, but it was just too different. I did not feel that the quality of filming, music and story were anywhere near the quality of the first one. (The subtitles were also hard to read for some reason— they would flash on and off the screen quickly, even before the scene changed to the next one .) I may give the second episode a try at some point, but for now I’m just going to keep re-watching, the first series of Arthdal Chronicles (which I’ve done several times now).

I thought I had watched this before but apparently not since I didn’t remember the storyline as I watched it. This drama was very creative and artistic, and I loved watching the paintings and philosophy. Everything was good up to the last episode even though it made sense— I definitely would have changed the ending. (not tragic, but sad) I would have rated it higher than 8.5!
PS Thanks to the viewers who suggested more historical dramas.

Most of the drama just focus on the leads' frienship, attraction comes later on. You will really enjoy their friendly…
Thanks so much for this list. I’ve watched nearly all of these and agree. The only one I could never watch again was “Damo.” It was so captivating all the way through until the very end, and it almost killed me. To this day I cannot even think about that drama without being devastated.
I too am a big fan of historical period dramas. I would love to see your entire list and your favorites. Take care.

Good movie. Good actors. Very heartfelt. I would love to see this as a drama series with a more developed story and characters. It’s so hard to watch a (short) two-hour movie these days when there are so many 12 to 80 hour dramas that encompass so much detail of the story.

Excellent movie. A must watch (warning—some graphic violence). I recommend this movie and I will watch it again. The actors were very good and the music should have received an award. There were some tragic scenes, but in the end it was very inspiring to see how a country can unite together against a cruel enemy. Way underrated. I gave it a 9.0. I would love to see this as a full kdrama series..

Watched for the third time in 10 years. Still one of the best. Loved every episode. Never a dull moment. I love the storyline and the actors and the leads are perfect. I hope they make more dramas like this in the future. I’m so glad that I got to watch it again. I changed my rating from a previous 9.0 to 10.0. if you’re debating whether to watch it now, I would say go for it. It’s a must watch in my opinion. Much better than many other things I have currently watched. Enjoy! 👍

I want to watch but just do not like Lee Min Ho as an actor. Nothing against him personally but I don’t enjoy…
I really like Lee Min Ho as an actor and yes, he is also very attractive. (I have watched all of his dramas. )

I have not watched this latest drama yet but I have been waiting for another drama with Lee Min Ho. I am looking forward to watching it.

This was not a hot, passionate love story as the title suggests. I liked the actors and the drama, but it needs a more appropriate title. Did not like the intros to every episode and I especially do not like the way Viki distracts and ruins the last few episodes of every drama by Not waiting until the very end to do its thankyous and credits for subtitles. It is so frustrating every time!

I know I'm responding a month late, but.....The ending is actually a happy one, or at worst a bitter-sweet one,…
Don’t ruin it for other people— please mark this as a spoiler!

This series was very captivating. it’s hard to get everything perfect, but I looked forward to each of the 43 episodes and really liked all the actors. The acting in the last episode was unbelievably good. I think that the two leading actors Xiao Zhan and Ren Min) and Alen Fang should all get awards for their amazing performances—just in that episode alone! It was worth watching. I’m sure I will watch again and highly recommend this drama.

PS why is this so underrated? It makes no sense unless people just don’t like long dramas!? It should have nothing less than a 9.0– I rated it 10!

I like the actors and the storyline overall but it was really dragged out and too slow,. But I made it to the end I think because I just like this music genre so much. The ending was okay but kind of draggy like the rest of the episodes. I think they could haves done so much more with this drama. Like some really cute scenes as in Naeil’s Cantabile kdrama.
