Yes. The actual ending was the ending of ep 40. With LXY a no show to the supposed ultimate fight with DFS.

The bonus ending, is an open ending. With LXY can be seen alive 3 months after he was supposed to die.

So the SGD and Nanyin must be resolved in the previous ep.

Ep 40 ending with LXY missing from quite possibly a big fight. He was supposed to meet with DFS for their ultimate fight but he didnt show up. He wrote him a letter, explaining why he didnt show up. Thanking DFS for the flower. He gave the flower to the king.

And the audacity of LLH, he suggested to DFS waited for FDB to surpassed LXY and fight him instead. 🤣🤣🤣

Before the fight he left lotus tower, confronted by zijin he broke his sword in 4 to prove he has no ambition to get back as sigu sect leader.

Everybody was there, sigu sect, even the princess to watch the big fight. LXY was nowhere to be found. And from the conversation he's still poisoned and have a a few days to live and FDB leaving the scene vowing to find LLH. End

Camera pan, to LXY smiling hearing his two friends arriving. After that it show the shot of the ocean. Empty. End
