Looks like the subs will be delayed.
I agree. There's so many benefits to soft subs/closed caption subs. As you mentioned, customization to the viewer and screen. But also, in case they discover a mistake or oversight in the hard subs. Mistakes happen. Also, there's a chance that something just doesnt translate well into another culture (not necessarily language).

The only benefit I can come up with for hard subs right now is that they don't add to the video's upload time.

English subtitles are embedded in the video itself, rather than as the usual closed captions.

"Middle aged"? Really?! The guy barely looks 30! This is ridiculous. Next thing you know, they'll expect you to…
Some asian countries also use phrases that translate to middle-aged for your 30s. Im not sure if China is one of them, but that’s another thing to possibly consider.

Am l the only one who noticed that the death tag was removed 👀?
Probably because it came from the novel. There’s no confirmation if the drama will follow that route.

What do you mean rpd* :O ? Dude.. you can't loosely call anything and everything rp just to satisfy your need…
It is commonly accepted that in the criteria for what constitutes as rape, the consent needs to be "freely given." And when you are drunk or otherwise intoxicated, consent is no longer freely given. So, yes, they were both victims. He. could. not. consent. That doesn't change just because he was on top.

Could the portrayal of his wasted-ness be exaggerated? Possibly. With the amount of alcoholics and addicts in my family, i have no intention of ever finding out. But, it is how he was portrayed throughout his entire drunken flashback. No awareness. No sense of significance. There was only exactly one thought in his head: get back to Jean. Everything that happened in between (witnessing something he would otherwise know is sensitive, being kissed, being punched, being yelled out, Joe and Army trying to call out to him, kissing a guy, seeing Jean dancing on a table) never registered. If him being punched didn't even register, how would Jean's pushes register?

Other than that, I agree with you. Intentional or not, understood or not, regretted or not. He should respect her boundaries. Talking it out with her might help her, but only if she wants to - and he shouldn't force her to. This "make up" should be on her terms. Because she's the one who is feeling the most adverse effects of the incident. He doesn't remember it. And he got praised for it afterwards.

I think the preview is misleading. Most GMMTV shows have been using that method for the final episodes of their dramas lately. So I don't think that will happen. But the premise as a whole is quite messed up. For so many characters. And the fact that it's all men on the director and writer teams has not escaped my notice.

It's in iffy (though still harmful) territory.

By the very same logic that says having sex with a drunk woman (even if she initiated it) is rape, so to was he not able to consent. She sobered up. He did not. He was so much more wasted than her. He didn't know what was happening around him, he couldn't register the significance of anything going on around him, and he most certainly didn't have enough mental presence to consent himself or register the consent of others. He wasn't just "out of it." He was hammered off his ass. At that point, there was exactly one thought in his head keeping him somewhat moving forward.

They're both victims here. He wasn't able to consent. And she withdrew her consent. And because of that, I think using "rape," and all the connotations that come with it, is wrong.

"Unintentional rape," as another commenter puts it, is centered around ignorance. Which wasn't the case here. He knows about consent, as he's shown several times in conversations both before and after the time travel. His crime here was that he was stronger than her and she couldn't push him off - which she only wouldve needed to do because he had next to no awareness of his actions or surroundings.

Jean is still totally entitled to her feelings and trauma from the incident. And I have soo soo many problems with centering the story around this premise - on so many levels and around so many different characters. And I really don't think they should become an endgame couple (at least not in this timeline). But lets remember that men can be victims too, even at the same time as a woman being a victim.

soemone should change the sypnosis.
Yea, I was telling you how I got it changed. For future reference.
It's because the 18-years-old came from an official source, so you need evidence to disprove that source.

It's actually pretty easy.
Just take a photo of the subtitle/scene where it establishes her age and link it via a postimages link.

There is an engsub version. Any viewers beware the site is … a mess. Good luck.
It's the first time the site's being used for this purpose. So that doesn't surprise. :/
After some complaints though, they might fix it.

The official promotions for it have included both Thai and English. I think eng subs are likely.
I'm not sure if you are getting what I am trying to say.

Let's go ahead and get those two dramas you mentioned out of the way:

Cafe in Love was not officially advertised with simultaneous English and Thai.
Since the subtitles in the trailers were in the form of Closed Captions, they may very well have been fan-contributed, not given by the company itself.
Both Cafe in Love and Destiny Seeker were done by companies that are known not to do subs at the time of airing (if at all).

Back to Boyband the series:

BoyBand The Series is not out yet. We don't know subtitle status yet. And we don't know if it will even be released internationally on streaming (as everything only mentions airing on the GMM25 tv channel). Also, to my knowledge, we don't have any precedent to go off of with World Star, who is producing this drama. So, nothing is certain about its international release or subtitle status.

But, that said, most Thai companies will only go through the trouble of having multiple translations on their promotional materials if they plan to accommodate those languages. And World Star has included Thai and English descriptions for nearly everything, officially, on their own, without fan contribution.

-The description section of the trailer comes with english and Thai simultaneously:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OgwwxNdD6g
-Much of the promotional materials about the story and characters come with English and Thai simultaneously:
https://www.instagram.com/p/CojxE_rrIvq/
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn2IK4PBwo2/

So, if it does release on international streaming, it seems likely that it will come with english subs.

Edit: as of a little bit ago, it’s been announced that this drama will be on the World Star YouTube channel for streaming

Trailer video subs is iffy, because youtube users can add subtitles.
But the video descriptions and social media posts for this drama all have both Thai and English simultaneously.
