Knetz placing this drama side by side with the Grand rom com like what's wrong with secretary Kim and Business…
There's no need for comparisons at all. King is up there with the best at this stage - super romantic and funny comedy. I didn't know SK and BP were the benchmarks for rom-coms tbh.
Wow, with episodes 3/4 they knocked it out of the park. I had a great time this weekend, laughed a lot... one word: Photoshop 😂, and Gu Won trying to throw his gift out the car window! Even clapped with the room when Sa-rang got promoted. She was cute in episode 3 and absolutely beautiful in episode 4.
No. That's incorrect. It's not just a question of taste either. One of his earliest successes was Empress Ki...…
It's on Netflix too in some regions, if you want to avoid the subtitling faux pas on Viki: using subtitles for reasons other than translation; transcribing song lyrics; subtitling things already in the target language.
I disagree, the cinematography got on my nerves from first second. Blurry focus, shots of the beads falling off of necklaces, stupid shadows, looks like a project by a film student.
I ran out of patience at 5:32. What's the point of suspenseful scenes when we've never met the character? When a movie or drama starts like that, even at 8 episodes, it clearly hasn't got the material to fill its time. It's not going to even try to make sense either. Looks like a gaslighting plot, just to annoy me further.
I like him, he was in High Priest Rembrary recently. I didn't recognise him from that photo above! I've seen 3 dramas with Hye-won ssi but can't remember noticing her tbh... but now she's the subject of a dating article, I'll probably make a point to notice her in Queenmaker 😉
Imo that hairstyle does not look good on Han ji min
The leading ladies are going through a rough patch in hairstyles at the moment. I want to grab these stylists and shake them. These are bad hairstyles... the other victim at the moment is Shin Hye-sun in 19th Life.
Not much to grab hold onto here, fine performances and a gritty portrayal of Alzheimer's, but a lack of character development and stuttering narrative takes away the impact that was intended.
Shin Hye Sun is a brilliant actress. She always delivers a top class performance. On the other hand, except for…
No. That's incorrect. It's not just a question of taste either. One of his earliest successes was Empress Ki... he showed everything in that role, the range was incredible... and the courage to take on a character whose flaws outweighed his merits, a weak minded, powerless emperor. I've never seen anything else like it. If you've got time, it's a 51 episode epic.
After that performance he had nothing to prove, he established himself as an actor in the very top tier.
And, maybe taste comes into this one, but he's known to have a theatrical background. He was beguiling as the wizard in Sound of Magic, it's a magical production - a modern fairy tale... like the classics that originated from dark, gothic horror. You need to open your mind a little when something different comes along.
SHS is a good actress but hasn't had any nirvana performances as the lead... yet. Just my opinion. I think My Golden Life is still her best lead to date.
Who, Sa-rang ssi? She speaks 4 languages very well, she's extremely competent, she has a quick wit, she's funny,…
Ah I see... I didn't think she looked like an idiot and she handled the situations better than others, including men. I think the cheer was her reflex, it's to show she's unaccustomed to high-brow events... (although her childhood scene at the beach implies she's from wealthy origins, her outfit was expensive). The tuna head was a bit of fun, not misogynistic - I thought at first that the rich owner insulted her by making her take home the head, but then I wondered if that is one of the finer delicacies of the tuna... I'm pretty squeamish when I see the dead creature, especially a huge tuna head, I certainly wasn't expecting that!
They are trying too hard with the comedy. Why are they making her look like an idiot? It's not funny, it's misogynistic.

both of the dramas especially this one is kind of inducing an " oh i should have pursued hotel management " thought…
After Coffee Prince, South Korea was awash with aspiring baristas, signing up to barista courses at universities. Maybe SK currently has a shortage of hoteliers...
I was going to list more, so many.
Name one where the FL is smitten first...?

Too much fast forwarding my friends.
