Yes. They don't think things through properly and pivot everything on a single, often tedious, idea - which finally gets resolved in a disappointing way, usually because they flog it to death until nobody cares anymore, it's just a relief to get it over with.

This was filmed in 2023, I suppose it was delayed because of the intern strikes or something. Hoping there won't be 'seasons' (i.e. repeats), I'll watch, looks interesting. If it's too Netflixy I'll just drop it.

Yes, everything you pointed out is spot on. It's probably down to editing more than a bad screenplay, rewriting the story in post production edits without enough material. It's full of padding.
