Look at it clinging on for dear life by its fingertips, to the window ledge of the Asia Pacific entertainment arts, one of the last areas on earth where the brand name still carries some respect.
I'd like to see Disney collapse. It's become synonymous with trash.
can someone lmk why it was postponed so long... was it bcs of Chinese cast?
I don't think they ever filmed the scenes with Tang Wei and Gong Yoo. Maybe waiting for funding confirmation from Netflix. So it looks like the film was incomplete and distribution/funding wasn't finalised in order to finish it. My guess.
Thanks, but the question was why. I doubt it's about nationality, more about specifics related to news stories, the topic could be off, an artist might be off, the licence holder could have breached some terms or tried to renogitiate the fee or missed an installment, a plagiarism case, that type of thing. Not because an actor is Chinese.
The doctors are scared of competition I guess 😅🤷🏻♀️
I read an article a while back, I tried to find it again but couldn't... it said something on the lines of doctors work as private businesses in SK, the funding is different to other countries - they invest a lot to set up their business and it may not pay off if the numbers increase by 50%. The Korean public is generally not supporting the action of the trainees. The whole perception of the drama would be different if it aired now, and I'd guess the narrative has become skewed, dramas often make subtle political observations which could come across as unintentionally crass in the current situation.
Namkoong-min in Awaken... in the back of a car, the atmosphere is tense, the investigation is gaining momentum travelling to the next clue. "This car's a bit quiet..." "Yes, it's a hybrid" Zoom camera to the car's infotainment screen and linger for way too long while the driver ponderously navigates the options: "KIA". Totally priceless. K-drama gold.
Yes they should definitely be riding bikes or something, not driving cars
What was that Han Ji-min drama, she had to ride (what looked like) a Brompton bike... it was wobbly, she finally got so pissed off with it she flung it to the floor and it was never seen again!
I love the products, it's so funny when the drama turns into a full-on commercial - a doctor has 3 minutes to save a patient... make that two, she first had to apply the anti-wrinkle stick very slowly and admire the results 😆 It's part of the business and it makes the drama appear to be doing well, a drama without products isn't a proper K-drama.
Great news, thanks for the article. Hope it's streaming on one of my providers. The premise sounds full of opportunity, and although I'm a big fan of the here and now, pre smart phone era also adds a lot of scope for drama.

The other Oh Hae-young, Jeon Hye-bin?
The exquisite Son Na-eun?
p.s. what K-pop did Moon Ga-young do?
