For overall, both are scheming for their own objective because it's a political marriage first and foremost. There's no clear who's right or wrong. It just depends on the perspective.

It was as straight forward as it sounds. Qiao broke their promise, Wei faced tragedy. No detailed explanation was given for the past events in the novel as well.

Basically this, plus Wei Shao is very lenient towards his family members. So, unless absolutely necessary, he most likely won't touch them.

After his ascension to throne, Wei Shao's nickname among the people was "Henpecked Emperor".

We are already seeing this tedency toward his wife in the drama now. So, high chance it'll stay that way. xD
