Excited for which direction the drama will take! 🤩 Fingers crossed we do not see noble idiocy act between Song Mo and Dou Zhao though. That's the last thing I need in this drama.

They rev up the angst meter way up in the drama lol. Novel was pretty chill. Now that majority of major plot lines from the novel are already cleared this early, let's wait and see how they gonna cook with the poison and rebellion plots.

And bedridden for a few days, not daring to reveal the reason he has fallen ill was because of his daughter-in-law's dowry. That guy is a piece of work. 🤣🤣🤣

She indeed is, lol. Song Mo is regular rich. Dou Zhao is like richie rich rich.

Here are some numbers.

We all know she's the richest person in Zhengdin, and own several businesses in the capital as well with annual dividends of 70k taels (mentioned in the drama)

The followings are from novel. Song Mo's betrothal gifts for Dou Zhao totaled around 20k taels. Dou Zhao's dowry totaled around 200-300k taels, which doesn't include the businesses mentioned above, just her private assets. It took 7-8 skilled accountants about 10 full days, working day and night, just to settle the accounts. It was not shown in the drama, but Song Mo's father vomited blood and fainted upon learning the actual size of Dou Zhao's dowry.

Even after they began their physical intimacy, it took Dou Zhao a good while to fully embrace the relationship with Song Mo, both mentally and physically.

Sadly, those details will likely not be carried over to the drama especially since they are going for slightly different route.

I simply turn off my brain for those mistranslations lol. Sometimes, SM and Crown Prince were in the adjacent scenes and both were addressed Crown Prince. Same goes for translating Madam as Crown Princess... and the list goes on. xD

I would have love to see Dou Zhao standing beside Dou Ming and WTY, and sternly snatching Dou Ming's body from WTY's hand. A few cold comment with disdain toward WTY would have been nice as well.

But, I can understand that they are seriously compressing an otherwise big ass main plot into the remaining few episodes, so there are some inevitable creative choices. This drama really can benefit from 40-episodes length instead of the current 34...

Mostly due to 'save face', these high profile families tend to privately deal with it. Divorcing would prompt the public noticing something was amiss. Killing without clean plan would also prompt unnecessary attention and troubles. Bringing her to court is even worse, equivalent to publicly announcing what has transpired and potentially harming or even implicating her associated families.

So, either send her to temple or lock her up in the country side... there's not many choices left in that kind of scenario.

Song Mo's father is Duke of Ying. Song Mo's uncle is Duke of Ding (the general). Different noble families.

How ML is related to Duke of Ding? Song Mo's mother is Duke of Ding's sister.

Novel is HE. Drama also likely HE, but no guarantee yet.

Dou 5th Uncle was not that of a bad guy at all in the novel, and has no major involvement in the second half of the story. The drama changed him to a big baddie in both parts of the story.

Crown prince doesn't have that much action and scene in the novel.

Defense always has the advantage as long as one can hold it, and they set it up at that narrow entrance. And, the aggressor clearly has number advantage, so there's no reason to go out and clash with them face to face. FL and her people only needed to hold out long enough for her people in the adjacent courtyard to come over as reinforcement, as they already signaled them ahead of time.

Personally, I like reading those kind of daily life interactions spread out through the story, like Blossom and The Story of Minglan. So, I enjoyed reading the Blossom novel as well.

I got chills at the Su Xin's scene. Brief but such a powerful shot.

I sort of had a hunch that they were trying to wrap up Dou Ming's story based on how many Dou Ming scenes were in Ep 20 and 21. But, Ep 23 totally came out of the left field.

My faith in the script renewed! 😍

And the trailers for Ep 24 and 25 are fire as well! 🔥🔥🔥
