I was watching episode 8 again and noticed the rock in her hands! when KT hit the man and ran to help her she…
That rock in her hand made that scene perfect. It showed that she would have won the fight without anyone's help. Imo, it would have seemed pretty stupid if she went up to him with such confidence and then was defeated by just a slap. I love the fact that in order to show her strength they didn't give her amazing fighting skills or something like that. Instead, she's mentally strong. Her strength comes from the fact that she doesn't give up, and doesn't care about the consequences of her actions, so she will use whatever means necessary to defeat someone, such as, using knifes, rocks and pushing someone down the stairs lol. I just find it more real. For example, in the scene we saw, a female with her build wouldn't be capable of defeating the man who slapped/hit her unless she was an incredible fighter, but a character like her knowing how to fight wouldn't really make sense. So, I love the fact that she's not displayed as physically strong, but she is still strong. If that makes sense? I just find it really unrealistic and stupid when characters in a drama can fight off ten men or some shit without extreme training. It's so cliche. It's understandable if they're in the special forces or something similar, but that normally isn't the case.
I just finished it. Initially, I found it very interesting and enjoyable, mainly due to Lin Jing/Lan Yue and Mo Huan. Lin Jing had a fun personality, secretive background, and I knew he was going to practice a demonic martial arts technique. All this made me have a lot of interest in his character and I looked forward to his journey. Mo Huan was also very interesting because I thought she was going to be a villain with potentially genuine reasons for being 'bad/evil' and her actions made me very curious because she claimed to want revenge on specific people, but still seemed to have attachments to them. Anyway, they just turned her into a power/control hungry villain, which has been seen so many times. This type of character has no depth and it just so boring. Things just went downhill after like 10ish eps. There wasn't enough substance for 45 episodes, so things just dragged and became boring. Everything was predictable. Plus, the romances really didn't click for me. Imo, all main leads were either miss cast or had poor acting, except Allen Ren.
Imo it hasn't gotten better. I honestly really enjoyed the first two episodes. It's been downhill from there. The story just doesn't have any substance. I've started skimming through the episodes. I'll still finish it though.
I don’t know why but I started to hate JCW after I was fond of him. Perhaps because he's wasting his potential…
I wouldn't go as far as saying I hate him. It's just unreasonable. He's still delivering solid acting performances in the roles he's taken. Imo, if anyone replaced him in these roles, it wouldn't result in a different outcome. If anything it would make these dramas worse. It's just that the scripts he or his team/manager has chosen are quite terrible. Whether he's in an action or romance drama doesn't really impact his acting abilities. I think he nails both types of roles. But, in action dramas, bad scripts are more forgiving, especially for someone like him who has the 'perfect' looks/physique. For example, K2 honestly didn't have a good story line, but Ji Chang Wook's charisma and action scenes were appealing and entertaining enough for a lot of people to still enjoy the drama. I think he just needs to be smarter when it comes to choosing which projects he's going to take.
It wasn't in my opinion. It was bound to happen, and this was probably the best scenario. I would have hated if…
Haha same. In my head I really tried to justify that those pictures on the beach could imply anything, but in the end, it turned out as expected by everyone.
That was the worst break up ever and they weren't even dating yet!! TT TT
It wasn't in my opinion. It was bound to happen, and this was probably the best scenario. I would have hated if they created a misunderstanding, or Gang Tae hurt/lied to Moon Young in a way which broke her, or Moon Young not chasing Gang Tae after the break up etc. It could have been so much worse. This was the best, and the teaser for the next episode shows them possibly resolving the issue very quickly.
Nothing can beat this one. That teaser for ep 11 is a killer. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Thank god for that teaser. I was gonna be depressed as hell thinking that they'll drag out Gang Tae keeping a distance from Moon Young for his brothers sake. So happy that this doesn't look to be the case.
This is just my honest opinion. Maybe it's right, maybe it's wrong.
Moon Gang Tae's character is an extremely realistic portrayal of a real human being. Throughout the ten episodes so far, we've seen that he thinks/feels one way, but his actions often contrast from his true emotions. This isn't because he's a bad person or insincere, but because he's good and smart enough to know that acting on those feelings would be wrong or hurtful. Therefore, despite feeling unhappy, sad, lonely and being emotionally suppressed due to taking care of his brother, he still doesn't convey those emotions through actions because (1) this would hurt Sang Tae and (2) he knows it isn't his brother's fault since he has autism. This is obviously just one specific example, but if you change the person, feelings and personal circumstances, it can be applied to countless situations.
Honestly, people are inherently simple, selfish and shallow. We judge things based on appearance. We put our self interests above others. We easily get annoyed, angry, jealous etc. But, even though this is what we might initially think/feel, our actions tell a different story because we know it's not 'right.' I don't mean this in a terrible way, but it is kinda true.
Typically, characters in films and dramas are shown to feel the exact way they act, unless they're purposefully lying in order to manipulate the situation etc. For example, there are often female characters who are stupidly and endlessly 'good.' Someone could slap them across the face and they'd show no signs of anger etc.
It's very rare we see a character who's completely exposed like Gang Tae.
This is probably a little bit of an over exaggeration to what happened, but fuck people like Oh Cha Yong. Seen so many people like him in the real world. They'll somehow come to know something private/personal about someone, and spread it around to everything that breathes.
I really hope that Gang Tae and Moon Young don't have stupid misunderstandings or unreasonable arguments that push them apart. It'd be really nice to see them both support and stand by each other no matter what. They clearly have strong feelings for each other, and both have realised this by now, especially Gang Tae. I will really hate life if this romance ends up getting ruined somehow.
The actual story is pretty meh, but the romance was on point. The leads have a very fun, cute and lovable relationship. It's up to you to decide whether you want to invest your time watching this. I'd only watch if you're interested in the romance, because the rest of the drama isn't anything new or interesting. I've gotta say I love seeing Zhao Lu Si. She's such a brilliant actor. From the historical/fantasy dramas I've watched, she's one of the few very young female actors who has top notch acting. She often portrays characters who could easily come across as annoying and obnoxious, but her acting really brings these characters to life, making it a very enjoyable to watch.
how can their be chemistry when the other leads acting is definitely the same as being a block of wood.. completely…
It blows my mind how Alan Yu manages to get main lead roles. It's honestly disgusting, and unfair to actors who actually have the ability to act. I remember watching The Legend of White Snake. The only thing memorable about it was Alan Yu's expressionless face throughout the entire drama. It looks like he's not even trying. There's bad acting, then there's him.
I don't know if it's just me, but Wang Yan Yang really reminds me of Sean Xiao, especially while he's smiling. To me, he sometimes looks like Sean Xiao, but with a bigger bone structure and bulkier build.
I really wish this gets a second season. Season one was quite brilliant, and far better than your average detective/historical dramas. I really wanna see Jian Bu Zhi's dark side. I think it would be so bloody interesting seeing an individual having an internal conflict with himself over his two identities. One part of him strived for the truth, justice, peace and love, whereas another part of him was evil enough to kill countless innocents. It would be incredible for the two parts to merge in a realistic way. Also, imagine a character with Wang Hua's martial arts and Jiang Bu Zhi's intelligence. I really hope this happens.
Underrated with a capital U... especially for Mystery lovers. Its on Youtube, guys: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FNigIiQRC0g&list=PL4r6eNRq1WPNzLQVV7pKiGO9WG10NyJV2&index=2&t=0s
After watching this, I'm pretty sure this would be classed as a wuxia drama. Wuxia involves martial art techniques in a fantasy setting, but it still has a sense of realism. Xianxia involves a lot more fantasy, such as, immortality via cultivation, gods, magic, talking animals etc. This has none of that.
I love the fact that in order to show her strength they didn't give her amazing fighting skills or something like that. Instead, she's mentally strong. I was pretty sad too, but the fact that we kinda knew this was gonna happen softened the blow a little for me.

I think we'll need to replenish at least some of the water we'll lose through our tears...
