Gotta say with the overall tone of the drama, I was very surprised with the ending. It was very happy and quite simple. Pretty much everyone got a happy ending. I expected it to be at least a little sad. People seem to be quite opinionated about this drama. They either love it or hate it. I simply enjoyed the ride. The story/plot itself was very interesting e.g. travelling between two worlds etc. This was the reason I started watching and the reason I finished. Also, the cinematography was beautiful. Everything just looked great. The execution of the story line wasn't the best but this wasn't really something that put me off from watching. If I had one complaint about the drama, it would be the character Yi Rim. I feel like he was an interesting, intimidating and calculating villain who turned into a bit of a joke. The way he died both of the times was a bit pathetic.
How NOT TO make a redemption arc:Ignore your character's wrongdoings (even better if you justify it with "dark…
You seem to be quite opinionated about this drama, and I don't mean that in a bad way. If you wouldn't mind could you give me a short summary of the story please? In a little more detail than the synopsis. I don't mind spoilers. And, is this worth watching?
I don't remember how this ended. Could some kind soul explain in detail please? I read the comments below but…
This reply is quite late but if you're still interested here's a little explanation. The ending is left up to the viewer's interpretation of the scene. Da Da is shown standing next to a man holding a umbrella over her. You can't see his face. At first she looks a little surprised and then she smiles. Holding an umbrella for Da Da is something Yeong Goo did in the past. This can be perceived as Yeong Goo coming back to life and living happily ever after with Da Da. But, alternatively, the man could be Wang Joon or someone else. Anyway, personally, I feel like it was more of a sad ending. The feeling of not knowing made it unsatisfying.
Re-watched this multiple times now. I just like it so much. This has some of the most lovable banter between the main couple. They're constantly bickering and fighting, but in a very fun and enjoyable way. My cheeks hurt from smiling for so long. Despite the lack of physical affection and kisses I find this to be one of the cutest main couples in a drama. A lot of this is because of the solid dialogue and acting. IU and Yeo Jin Goo are incredibly talented actors.
This was actually quite a fun watch. Btw, does anyone know the name of the child actor who portrays the young princess. She didn't have many scenes but I felt she did an incredible job. I'm wanting to keep up with her future dramas. Child actors rarely impress me but her acting was so good imo, and I can definitely see her becoming very popular in the future.
Could someone dm me where they are watching this drama with english subtitles please? I've found some sites but they only have like 2 subbed episodes when 18 episodes have already been aired. I really want to binge this drama.
Hong Jo has been lowkey roasting Jae Sun throughout the entire drama. I swear he's said "I'm not going to leave her like you did" about a billion times now.
I get that he's been looking for her for 25 years, but man he's persistent. If someone hugged me like that out…
100% agree. This was my only real complaint after finishing the first 2 episodes. It's unrealistic and sorta awkward when two people meet for the first time and one person shows so much 'affection.' He's literally said that she can become his wife after a few days of meeting her and getting treated like a nut job/trash. I get that she saved him 25 years ago and he's always wanted to meet her, but him liking her already really doesn't make sense. 95% of the time I see something like this in a drama, it just doesn't feel right. I wish the attraction took time to build up in a relatively slow and real manor. Also, Yi Gon's personality is a little annoying. For someone who went through what he did at such a young age, I would expect him to be more closed off and have a 'stronger' character. Anyway, the production value is clearly insane. Everything looks incredible, and the plot is quite intriguing, mainly due to the villain. Looking forward to the next episodes.
I honestly don't know how I feel about this drama. It's keeping me engaged and I will certainly finish it, but there are so many things that kinda feel 'stupid' in this drama. Firstly, I somewhat don't like how 'dumb' they made Kim Sol Ah. I feel like the writers made her dumb literally so everything else in the plot can kinda fit. If she was 'smart' there are so many situations where she would react differently and it would make it more realistic for me. With everything that's happened so far, it's kinda unbelievable that she doesn't even suspect anything at all about Hong Jo. I don't mind her bubbly and somewhat clingy personality tho. That's just who she is and it's kinda cute. This is obviously nothing about the actress Shin Ye Eun btw, I think she's great. Secondly, I love and hate Lee Jae Sun. I understand that he has abandonment issues, but did he really cut off all contact with Sol Ah because she left a cat she found? I would understand if he didn't actually want to date after seeing that happen, but not showing up for their date and cutting off all contact without any communication seems so far fetched, stupid and unrealistic. Also, if he really didn't want to be with her after that, he needed to make that very clear, especially when they met again after 10 months. He constantly leaves Sol Ah with hope and feelings for him which was a little cruel. But, after this happened, I really started to like him and his relationship with Hong Jo. He's understanding and selfless. Then, suddenly, the writers decide to turn him into a jerk who tries push away/ expose Hong Jo. It felt outta place too. Finally, Hong Jo. I feel like there are so many things unexplained about Hong Jo just for the sake of convenience. Also, there's nothing really about his past. I feel like we know more Jae Sun's past and how it shaped his personality than we do about Hong Jo, who is the main lead btw. I don't like how he changes his mind about staying or leaving multiple times too. I quite like the second couple tho, mainly because of Eun Ji Eun. I listed quite a few negatives but I don't really mean to bash on the drama as it's terrible or something. I just feel like this was a unique plot which could have had much better writing. Anyway, the end.
They take a while to get into a relationship. They both like each other before that, but due to the circumstances…
They finally get together near the start of episode 23. As I said before they're really cute together, but the drama focused more on creating and sustaining conflict.
I've just finished episode 34, only 2 more to left. Initially, I really liked Tao Lun. He was caring, understanding…
It makes sense for Zhang Min/Chi to hate his dad because he never really cared about him. But, what doesn't make sense is the way Tao Lun treats both Zhang Min/Chi and his dad. The dad treats Tao Lun 100x times better than he ever did Zhang Min/Chi. He clearly cares about him and his well being. He was the one who found him. He immediately wanted to prepare Tao Lun to take over the company. Tao Lun should've seen this and used his brain a little. I just got annoyed at him for the way he acted all of a sudden. He knew literally nothing, but acted like he knew Zhang Min/Chi and his father were the 'bad guys.' Anyway, fuck Tao Lun.
What was the motive of the uncle? maybe because of forwarding I somehow missed the point why he did all those…
The uncle was Tao Lun's mother's brother. Considering the company was owned by their father, it would be passed onto one of his children, almost always the male. This means, usually, the uncle would have inherited the company. But, the father didn't trust his son (uncle). It's kinda obvious why, he probably saw that he was sly, selfish and greedy, so if he owned the company, he would probably destroy the company for profits. His daughter on the other hand (Tao Lun's mother) was a good and kinda woman married to a man (Tao Lun's father), who was a better candidate to lead the company, and had a son (Tao Lun), who could inherit the company after him. On the one condition that once Tao Lun became of age he would inherit the shares and the company, the father passed the company down to his daughter's husband. The son (uncle) felt betrayed and hated Tao Lun and his father for taking away what he felt was rightfully his, so he plotted to try become the chairman of the company. Firstly, by getting rid of Tao Lun. The existence of Tao Lun was the main reason the company was passed onto the husband of the daughter. Then, by exposing that current Zhang Min was fake, so the daughter's husband would be forced to resign from the company and the uncle would be the best candidate for the chairman. But, the chairmanship was passed onto the real Zhang Min. From that point he's pretty much screwed unless Tao Lun messes up in a big way, so he tries to manipulate him for the time being, but Tao Lun's memories return, which exposes the uncle's crimes in the past.
They take a while to get into a relationship. They both like each other before that, but due to the circumstances Luo Xi rejects Zhang Min for a period of time. Once they're together they don't break up. They had one moment where one misunderstood the other, but it didn't lead to a break up or any argument tbh. This drama has a really cute main couple but I don't think they had enough time/scenes together, and overall, outside of the romance, this drama isn't anything too special imo.
I've just finished episode 34, only 2 more to left. Initially, I really liked Tao Lun. He was caring, understanding…
Oh you just reminded me of the shitty way Tao Lun handles the Wen Na too. Now, I don't really like Wen Na, but I don't really dislike her either. She can be a typical rich girl, who uses her money and harsh methods to get what she wants, but I don't think she realises the consequences of her actions so I can kinda forgive her. She has a certain purity and playfulness which makes me like her a little. It's clear that she has feeling for Zhang Min/Tao Lun since he saved her as a little girl. She kisses him, and he kisses her back, he slips in the tongue too btw, and then acts like it never happened. Then, he keeps mentioning the importance of Luo Xi in front of her and can't really even give her a reason why he keeps her next to him other than he trusts her. I understand why she's hurt. She's loved two different people and they both love Luo Xi. I just want his mother to wake up now tbh. Maybe she can slap him around and knock some sense into him.
