Title Joy of Life
Hi, may I know is there are many or less Xiao Zhan scene in this drama ?
He appears late in the drama, and he isn't a main character so of course he doesn't have as much screen time as the male lead.
But, honestly just watch this drama anyway. It's so fun and enjoyable. It has a bit of everything too. I really can't see someone disliking this drama unless they completely hate the genre.

This is the best c-drama ever, better then nirvana in fire even!
This is one of the most enjoyable dramas I've watched. I had more fun watching this than Nirvana in Fire, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's 'better'. Nirvana in Fire has some of the best writing I've seen, which is paired with incredible production value and actors. It's really hard top.

This is one of those dramas that you know could have been sooooooo much better.
Just thinking about it makes me feel sad and disappointed.
I still really enjoyed most of it though.

Yes my thoughts exactly. The Head Nurse also was very compassionate toward ST. So this picture that she is an…
The head nurses crazy and eerie smile at the end of the episode really resembled Moon Young's mum. I think it's possible that they're sisters.
But, what would be her reason for doing all this? If it was simple revenge, then she'd just need to kill Moon Young's dad since he killed her sister, but she didn't even seem to hate him.

Episode 14 is mostly a filler episode nothing much happened, there wasn’t much cute moments between the leads…
I really wished they didn't destroy Yeon Joo. I kinda liked her character. It's understandable why she is the way she is, and there was definitely roam for her to develop and grow into a better/more understanding person. But, they kinda ruined her for me by first kissing Seung Joon, and now trying to get rid of Saet Byul with underhanded tactics.

Title It's Okay to Not Be Okay Spoiler
I guess we all saw it coming that the head nurse at the hospital was related to the incidents happening.
But, something just doesn't fit the picture. Forget about how Moon Young's mum is still alive after that fall, and her body being thrown under water in a locked bag. Maybe Moon Young's dad's memories were incorrect due to his condition. Anyway, from what we saw in episode 13, Moon Young's mum seemed like a psychopath. She wasn't even able to control herself and killed a women (Gang Tae's mum) simply because she didn't like/felt offended by something she said. Then, she calmly listens to music, and cannot control her laughter at her husband. She appeared to be kinda crazy. Whereas, the head nurse is someone who has worked in a psychiatric hospital for a long period of time. This doesn't seem like something Moon Young's mum could put up with. I mean she laughed in the face of her husband when he tried to lecture her about killing a women. It was almost as if she found him to be weak and pathetic. How could someone like her take care of people with psychiatric disorders? Meanwhile, the head nurse appears to be very patient and fairly intelligent. She seemed to empathise/care about Moon Young's dads death. Or, at the very least, she is capable of pretending and hiding her true emotions very well. She manipulates people and situations. She's more like a sociopath.
I don't know to be honest, but I don't think the head nurse can be Moon Young's mum. She may be someone who was close to Moon Young's mum? Or, maybe I'm overthinking and completely wrong, and it's exactly as it appears to be.
Thoughts?

Just re-watched a clip of the interaction between Moon Young and Sang Tae before taking the family photo. I love that scene so much. It's so simple, real and powerful. She notices Sang Tae is trying very hard to fit in and be like everyone else, but tells him that's fake and he should just be the real Moon Sang Tae. He then looks at a mirror and stares for a while. I feel like he really needed to hear those words too, which made that scene even more meaningful.

This had so much potential, but in my opinion, it crashed and burned.
It started out very interesting. The male lead was very intelligent, cunning, indifferent and intriguing, so it was very engaging watching him make his moves. He was different and much more interesting than your typical leads. However, this didn't really last long. As soon as the plot moved to Wei, everything simply became boring, including the male lead.
The romance left a lot to be desired. It was just so disappointing. There's no real development and the same thing keeps repeating. Misunderstandings that can be solved so simply are just stupid imo. They're unnecessary and a weak way of creating conflict to drive forward the plot. Huo Xuan was the only interesting and likeable female, but unfortunately she wasn't the main lead.
Anyway, there are so many issues with the plot. A lot of things are left unexplained too. This could have been far better.

I had a lot of fun watching this, but it is by no means a good drama in my opinion.
Overall, the story is a mess and really had no real direction.
Xiao Bao was an interesting character and very fun to watch, however I couldn't really come to like him because he was fickle, selfish and treacherous throughout the majority of the drama. He definitely wasn't a good person. It was only towards the end of the drama where he learnt to be loyal to others, but even then it wasn't convincing. I could have looked past most of the things he did because he was just trying his best to survive, but I couldn't really forgive him for literally drugging and raping six women together. Somehow they weren't too bothered and became his wives? Anyway, I was really conflicted with his character. I don't mind characters who are selfish, kill people etc, but I hate people who manipulate situations and hurt innocents.
Also, I felt like there was so much plot armour for Xiao Bao. There were so many situations where he realistically should have died, and the way he survived was just kinda stupid.
I might be coming across like I'm bashing on this drama, but I don't mean too. I enjoyed the drama, but at the same time I had my issues with the plot and characters.

I wouldn't really call that a underhanded tactic tbh. Puppy doesn't really know anything about Dae Hyun. To a third person it could easily seem that way.

Finally, an episode that I genuinely felt happy while watching.
There were lots of adorable scenes of the main leads together, and it felt like they made good progression in their relationship, which I felt was missing from like the last 5 episodes.
I usually despise love triangles, but I quite like Puppy so far. He's been an incredible guy, and I'd even understand if he ends up with Saet Byul. I hope they don't ruin Puppy by turning him into a 'bad' guy. It's completely normal to feel jealous and a little competitive in his situation, but I hope he doesn't end up using underhanded tactics. That would kill his character for me.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Joy Of Life is literally my top 3 dramas of 2019. I can't wait for season 2!
Yeah, me too. I had so much fun watching that drama. I wasn't bored for a moment. I don't know much about the novels, but I hope they give Li Qin's character her own identity in season 2. In season 1, she just seemed to be the male leads love interest and nothing more.

Just from watching the first episode I can tell Li Qin is actually a great actress. I wish they would have given her character more to work with in Joy of Life.

this is xianxia not wuxia
Yeah. I prefer wuxia dramas. They still feel realistic, and aren't as reliant on cgi as xianxia dramas, so they require a smaller budget to create a good drama etc. A lot of xianxia have such terrible cgi that some viewers struggle to watch since they find it distracting and fake.

Is there a reason why people don't pucker their lips when kissing in Thai dramas? I'm talking about scenes in episode one between Theeruth and Teerawee. I mean she's just a child and Theeruth is only kissing her on the cheeks. It just looks so unnatural and weird because he just barely even touches her cheeks and doesn't pucker at all. I meanly surely people aren't sick enough to think something wrong between a male actor kissing a child on the cheek while acting in a drama. It's just a display of affection. I'm just wondering if that's the reason they do it like that or is that just the normal way in Thailand?
