There are going to be 3 seasons so I'm pretty sure you can guess what type of ending this season will have. 100% recommend watching though. The drama is so fucking good. I guess the only downside is that you're going to get hooked and have to wait for the next seasons.
If you're talking about Jee driving into and killing the woman Thit loved, then yes and no. She immediately felt guilty and wanted to reveal it, but a bunch of things happen, mainly caused by people surrounding her, and she then decides to not reveal it. Although it was Jee who accidentally killed her, it wasn't entirely her fault. Anyway, there are continuous misunderstandings between the main leads which frustrate the hell out of me, just like most other thai dramas, but the chemistry carries the drama through.
Can someone, who has read the novels, explain to me who or what is Wu Zhu? I find his character really intriguing. Why doesn't he age? Why doesn't he have his memory? How does he 'see' despite having a blindfold on?
While I rather dislike love at first sight trope and the prolonged misunderstanding (over 10 ep, but they actually…
Yeah, you put it together pretty well. I have the same issue as you. I don't like the love at first sight crap. It's just not realistic at all. But, as you stated above, their relationship is understandable from that point forward. That being said... I would still much rather Fan Xian being with someone else. Just someone more interesting. I've watched up to episode 39 right now and I absolutely love his interactions with Duo Duo and Ruo Ruo. Their chemistry is great and the relationship feels more real, but I doubt they'll ever be romantically involved unless Wan'er gets killed or something.
Ok. For the first time ever I'm just gonna watch the episodes without any subtitles. I won't understand much but…
I have an iphone so i've downloaded the app from App store. I cannot even click or view any of the episodes, therefore I can't change resolution or any other settings. Immediately, after clicking on the drama, the error pops up. I think it's like the person above said, it's not available in my country (UK). Anyway, thanks for trying to help :)

I looked for it before on the app and nothing came up, so I thought it wasn't on wetv. Just searched 'Joy of Life' again and nothing came up, but I did find it by just looking through the full list. However, when I click on it, it doesn't work. Says 'Error 1013' and 'abnormal network.' Do you know how I can fix this?
Fan Ruoruo is my favorite female character in this show. I feel like the lead female character should have had…
Completely agree. I wish the love interest of the male lead was anyone but Lin Wan'er. Their relationship is pretty cute but there's just not any passion and it feels a bit dull. Wan'er just doesn't have much of a personality. Plus, I hate how they just fell in 'love' at first sight. It feels more real when you take time to develop the relationship and feelings. Every other female in the drama that I've seen is more interesting than Wan'er. And I agree. Fan Ruo Ruo is great. Beautiful. Strong. Smart. Plus, she's like the best sister you could have. I don't think she has a love interest in the drama tho. But, I'm not finished yet, so I can't be sure.
I was so reluctant to start this drama but now I'm half way through episode 15 and this shit is way too good. It's just so engaging. We have a male lead who's smart, cunning, strong and has an actual personality when necessary. He's not a naive, righteous, dull idiot that you get in so many other historical dramas. Plus, he's not just a pretty face but a damn fine actor. The drama has comedic elements which aren't obnoxious, emotional moments where you can really feel for the characters and a pretty sweet romance. Also, it's a little mysterious too. I really want to find out about the male lead's mother and why Emperor shows so much interest in him. Anyway, if you're hesitant to give this drama a try, just try one episode. I'm pretty sure just the opening episode is enough to hook most people to this drama.
Up to episode 26 so far which means there are only 8 episodes left. Ding Ning/Jing Meng is only in the 4th realm right now, while the King is in the 8th realm. How is he going to improve his cultivation level in such little time? Through the sword manual everyone is looking for? Anyway, this has been a pretty solid drama so far but I don't really know how they're going to conclude it without it feeling too rushed.
There is romance (Ding ning actually is liang jing meng with his little aunt). Ding ning is so sweet though, he…
I'm going to explain what "christinatina" meant but it'll spoil the drama to an extent. If you're genuinely interested in watching the drama then don't read any further. While Liang Jing Meng was still alive, he was the strongest cultivator. He was the leader of the Ba Shan sect and helped the King of Heng strengthen the nation. Later, he was betrayed by the King and the woman he loved. He was too strong and therefore the King viewed him as a threat and planned to kill him and wipe out his sect/friends. He is believed to have been killed. Ding Ning is a child at the time, who is a disciple of Liang Jing Meng and the sole successor of his Nine-Death Silkworm cultivation technique. He is found by a woman called Zhangsun Qianxue, who had a love/hate relationship with Liang Jing Meng, and she decides to take care of him. They hide their identities to survive and pretend to have the relationship of a aunt and nephew. They both cultivate together to get stronger and get revenge one day by killing the King. This journey takes them through a bunch of shit. They grow closer. Eventually, we find out that Ding Ning is infact Liang Jing Meng. He somehow survived, most likely due to Nine-Death Silkworm technique, but became much younger and had an entirely different appearance (basically he is a different person and loses his cultivation skills). This makes a bit more sense if you actually watch the drama. It's a little difficult to try to explain how this happened. This is basically where we are at right now (episode 24). TLDR: This drama has subtle romance which is likely to develop into a more passionate one. But, romance isn't the main focus of the drama. This drama has quite a lot of strong and interesting characters which makes the drama engaging. If you like wuxia dramas, you should definitely give it a go.
I don't really care about China's censorship rules etc. Ofcourse without them, BLs would be much better and more realistic but this doesn't ruin a drama for me. This drama isn't bad. The main characters relationship feels kinda unique and special. But, what was the ending? Tbh you can't even call that an ending. It's like watching a drama which ends without releasing the last few episodes. No conclusion whatsoever. Therefore, in my opinion, it's not worth watching this. You wanna watch a drama with BL or a strong friendship/bromance? Watch The Untamed. Looking for no censorship? Watch Thai BL dramas.
