It's not bad so far, but I did expect better. I haven't read the novels, but are the characters personalities similar to the novels? It just kinda doesn't make sense to me. Xiao Yu'er was brought up by people ,who are considered to be some of the worst villains, with the purpose of him being 'bad'. He finds out that his father was murdered by someone. Yet, he is very happy all the time and doesn't really have a dark side to him. All he does it pull tricks, I don't really know how that happens considering his circumstances. On the other hand, Hua Wu Que is way too righteous and 'good'. He refuses to hurt people who clearly tried to kill him multiple times and he doesn't really have much of a personality so far. This type of character just feels so dull. One of the few exceptions where this type of character was enjoyable to watch was Lan Zhan in the drama The Untamed.
Other people have many other issues with the start of this drama so far, such as acting, but mine is definitely the characters themselves. I just wish the drama was a little more serious and darker. After all, it's about deceiving twin brothers to fight and kill each other, after already having killed their parents and turning their uncle into a vegetable. The tone of the drama just doesn't match with the events that have happened.
I might be a little too harsh though, it has only been 4 episodes so far. There's plenty of time for change and improvements.

I rarely tear up while watching dramas or films. The ending of this one had me tearing up and smiling. I got really attached to Ryu Hwan and Hae Jins brotherly love. Hae Jin was like a little bunny next to Ryu Hwan. I feel like this film managed to be comedic yet keep its seriousness at the same time. Anyway, it's worth your time.

Haven't been so intrigued in long time. So many characters playing their own game, having their own motives and mysteries. And, now the wait begins.

Why does Yan Bing Yun betray and 'kill' Fan Xian in the end? Explain in detail if possible.
Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for too. I really wanna see Fan Xian and Bing Yun on the same side. I mean I like both actors too much to hate either of them.

I'm at episode 10, and is having second thoughts whether to continue but I just watched the trailer and I think…
Personally, I loved this drama and have rewatched it many times. But, it isn't perfect by any means. The ending is quite a mess. If you like romance between the main leads then it's definitely worth a watch though. I recommend watching it on viki, it significantly improves the watching experience. There are a view different versions out there. Some have too many flashbacks and fillers. Viki cuts down on these unnecessary scenes but still keeps all the important scenes, making the drama shorter and more enjoyable.

lol how can this drama be rated 9?
I think ratings are generally biased and misleading. If someone enjoys a drama, they might give a 10 rating. Whereas, someone who doesn't like the drama may give a 1 rating. It really skews the ratings. I take ratings as an indication of how many people enjoyed a drama. I find this drama to be really enjoyable so far, but it's by no means a 9 rating. I would give dramas like Nirvana in Fire a 9-10 rating. Dramas like this don't even come close to that in terms of overall quality.

I haven't watched it yet, but I saw a clip where the ML kisses the FL after a fight, she doesn't fight back...…
It was more like hate sex. At that point, they both have strong feelings for each other, but due to misunderstandings caused by other people, they hurt each other. Although she was willing, it wasn't exactly under the right circumstances. I would have preferred it never happened tbh,

After looking at the comments here, I thought this would be perfect for me. A lot of action with a good cute romance. I've seen The Legends so I knew the main leads have great chemistry. But, I just got fed up while watching this. Yan Zhen is just so bloody likeable. He made every scene fun. The scenes with him messing with Xie Xiang were really cute, but eventually I just felt bad for him. He chased and loved her relentlessly, but I just got so pissed off seeing her ignoring him constantly and seeking out Jun Shan all the time. This lasted for like almost 35ish episodes. I got tired and frustrated of seeing this. I'm not saying she had to choose him or love him back. Just make your feelings clear. He clearly said he liked her numerous times. If you don't like him, just say it seriously. When Man Ting showed she had feeling for Yan Zhen. He made sure she understood the situation. Even if it was cruel, he didn't give her any false hope. Anyway, I just wanted it to stop. Maybe I'm a little biased though because I generally don't like love triangles.
I've never really liked second female leads but I loved Man Ting. She had a great personality and the way she fell in love with Yan Zhen felt very real. Also, the way she showed her love was very similar to Yan Zhen. I honestly would have preferred her ending up with Yan Zhen. They made a fun couple.
I loved Ting Bai too. The way he expressed his love for Man Ting. He was persistent but didn't cross the line and gave Man Ting the freedom and space she needed with her feelings. He was very patient and loving.
Anyway, the drama overall was decent. I guess I just expected more from the romance.

There's a pretty big spoiler in the synopsis...
Yeah when I first read it and watched the start of the drama, I was pretty damn confused but after watching the majority of the drama, you realise it's a pretty big spoiler. I guess someone needs to change. I don't really care tho, I'm too into the story and welcome spoilers at this point.

Well that was a really satisfying ending. To enjoy this drama to the max, I think you need to firstly accept the fact that this is a comedy. Facial expressions and actions will be exaggerated. If you take the drama too seriously you'll probably find it cringe and unrealistic. I mostly liked it because the story was unique and the male lead was a perfect fit for the role. The start was brilliant, the mid section was okay, and the ending was brilliant too. Overall, it was a very entertaining and funny drama.
But, I still think it could have been way more interesting and compelling if they took a darker route with Dong Shik's character.

Wait, is there gonna be a kiss? Is it confirmed or are you just hoping for one? Just wondering since there really…
Yeah, something like that is probably more likely. I really can't imagine them kissing already lol. It would be nice to have a sweet little moment between them before the show ending tho.

I'M DISAPPOINTED IN THIS DRAMA IT'S SO SLOW AND THE ROMANCE FEELS LIKE A SIDE PLOT
They could really make up for that in the next 4 episodes tbh, Such a good build up and so many emotions up to this point. As long as, from this point forward, they give sufficient time for the couple to show their affection and have a cute relationship with no silly conflict between them. I dunno, I just find it way more real and meaningful to watch a romance like this rather than something like falling in love at first sight bs.

I'm on episode 36, but, can't phantom how after this season finish, I can handle the fact that I have to wait…
I'm on episode 43 now. It just keeps getting more interesting. I haven't looked forward to new seasons of a tv series so much, other than maybe game of thrones. But, at the same time I really hate it. Looking forward to something for over a year is just mental torture.

If you like Joy of Life I recommend you watch Ever Night as it is written by the same author. And finally I recommend…
Seen both of them unfortunately. Ever night was so engaging in the beginning but I felt like the plot never really moved forward. It was like 50 episodes of the same things happening over and over again. Heavenly Sword and the Dragon Saber 2019 was really enjoyable. Zhao Min's character was really fun to watch.

Wu Zhu is not a grand master, he is an android-robot. He is the most powerful of them all.
It might seem like a stupid question but what exactly is qi? Seen it mentioned in so many wuxia dramas etc.
