I just rewatched it and loved it. Its more so the characters and the relationships I like rather than the overall…
Yeah, thats what I liked the most. You could like and root for almost all the main characters. You felt for them all. Its rare that that happens in a drama.

I usually hate and try to avoid sad ending too but in this drama it just felt right and fitting. It made me really fkin sad but a happy ending would have felt out of place with everything else that happened in the story.
I'm over 25+ but still can't like this drama...I think I still have to mature more...
I just rewatched it and loved it. Its more so the characters and the relationships I like rather than the overall plot. Anyway, any particular reason you dont like it?
I watched some of this drama without subtitles so I'm not sure if I missed something. But, during the first few episodes, Li Cu opens a little container which results in a weird black substance entering his body. I don't think I ever quite found out what that was. Also, in one of the fight scenes, Li Cu's eye turn fully black and he gains some kind of 'super strength' but this wasn't seen or mentioned again in the drama. I may have missed something so if anyone knows, please explain to me.
First time ive seen people arguing on this website and its not even over a drama... But just for the sake of the argument, it was definitely Tricia Pan overreacting and making an issue out of something that started with a simple question.
Okay, I have watched all of the "condors and heavenly sword" dramas from old to new, and now this one. I am stuck…
Haha I literally feel the exact same way in almost all wuxia dramas I watch. For some epic reason, all the male leads have to be overly nice, honourable, gullible, stupid, manipulable and so on. It grinds my gears. In a realistic world this type of person would die immediately. Chinese historical dramas could be so damn entertaining but they're really brought down by dumb characters with no development or boring storylines. Only a few are actual good dramas. Like in this drama, I absolutely loved Zhao Min. She made this drama worth watching for me. She was interesting, strong, smart and cute. The male lead definitely didn't deserve her imo. He misunderstood her 1000 times and tbh just didn't even know what he wanted himself.
Just imagine watching this with proper english subtitles. The main couple was hella cute and had incredible chemistry. If you like romance dramas, then this is a must watch.
I feel like so many chinese dramas are like this one. This have many appealing ideas and concepts for dramas but fail to execute. This drama has a very interesting storyline but the end product is dull and boring. Plus, the main character's personality is just non-existent... He's too nice to everyone. Doesn't really express any kind of emotions. He simply just uses his ability and displays his knowledge of history etc. Plus the actor who plays the character wasn't the best actor either, so this just made the character feel lifeless to me.

If you've already seen Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre, I'd watch The Untamed or Novoland: Eagle Flag. The Untamed is just great overall and was very well received with high ratings throughout. Novoland: Eagle Flag just has the perfect fantasy/historical setting. It's just so engaging and interesting. Personally, I'd say it had one of the best start/mid sections but the end section really let the drama down. Otherwise it would have been just pefect. It was still good and worth watching

Yh the new Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre was very entertaining. The relationship between the main couple was great. I've watched The Taoism Grandmaster. Imo it was decent. Nothing special or memorable tho. But who knows, you may like it much more than I did.
Yeah... I just don't understand why some historical dramas give the male lead such shitty hair. Li Xian is a pretty…
Luckily it gets a bit better. I just watched the trailer and there are scenes of Li Xian with a more mature and better looking hair style. We will probably see that towards the mid/end of the drama.
I think the relationship between the main leads was great and refreshing. The romance was slow paced, well developed and much more realistic than the typical lakorn romances. However the rest of the drama isn't too appealing or engaging. Plus, I think it's a little too long and drawn out. My main disappointment with the drama was the ending few episodes. It could have ended much stronger but it felt like this just wanted to create unnecessary conflict and tension. Anyway, worth giving it a shot.
Do any of you have any recommendations to watch that is similar to this?

Some of my favourites are: -Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre 2019 -Legend of Yun Xi -New Smiling Proud Wanderer 2018 -Nirvana in Fire (Mostly I watch historical dramas because I love this costumes and sword fights etc but this drama has a brilliant story aswell) -Noble Aspirations -Novoland: Eagle Flag -The Dark Lord -The Legends -The Untamed
Yeah... I just don't understand why some historical dramas give the male lead such shitty hair. Li Xian is a pretty good looking dude and they could have definitely given him a much better look. I know they may be trying to give off the look that he's poor and rough but still I hate it.
should i watch this again? Im so bored these days im watching stuff i already seen but this makes me nervous since…
I've watched this more times than I can count. I don't even think it's a good drama but the high production value and the historical costumes/vibe just captivates me. Ohh and ofcourse Luoluo. She's like the most adorable character ever.
I'm at episode 20 right now. I feel so bad for Lalit. Yeah she's also made some bad choices after getting hurt but deep down shes innocent and a good person. Win is literally being an asshole and using her as a tool over and over again. I love revenge dramas where the main character's determined to reach their goal. They're ruthless and don't mind killing. But I just hate when they hurt or use innocent people to reach their goal because that just makes them the same as the villains.
