I know it's challenging to be tested with maximum patience. So many tropes and traditions for KDrama but the secret sauce? Great guest stars... that's how you can survive some annoying moments.
Just five minutes of good moments... in every episode. Yes, I took Kim Ji-won's memorable suggestion in My Liberation Notes as a reminder that it also can applies to KDrama too.
I am up to number 4 but this is not supposed to be easy and sweeping up your heart drama so keep that in mind. Chemistry wise... still working on it to the proper point but we'll find out if it's going to be everlasting impression for KDrama fans.
I do have some faith in Lee Sung-kyung's abilities to figure things out with her ML leads so it's going to be better.
I've read comments about the FL's acting and what not but she took this role for few reasons: availability, ML actor may have wanted to work with her and studio doing a favor for her agency.
It's not AAA level KDrama with ridiculous amount of money being spent on expensive costumes, set designs and long distance locations. It's a basic story about two nutty people and they got accidentally pulled together due to tragic outcome. You don't have to watch it... it's not meant for amazing feat of tearjerker moments or easy laughs.
If you can lower your expectations a bit and just enjoy it for what it is instead of being upset about wasteful two episodes.
I've completed this in 3 days on Feb 2, 2026. Originally, I would've docked a full point for casting Deaf roles…
To UK citizen, you don’t get to talk to me about insulting a nation when they refused to let Deaf Koreans drive until recent years. Do you honestly think it’s up to hearing people especially able bodied to decide how we should treat your common ignorant opinion about Disability Rights around the world?
It’s an insult to be lectured by such opinion.
I’ll forgive your ignorance only once but there is a limit to your access to my time.
Regarding previous comment about the lack of acting ability, well it always pay to have more connections through agency so it may be that way in the beginning. I've gotten no problem with her getting roles because almost none of them are major projects. She didn't steal roles... they were given as a favor to the agency.
The real battle is to earn more fans to support her career and it's not very easy to win them.
You don't have to love.. like... or tolerate her but from time to time you may have to see her on your screen.
Just like I am stuck with some Go Youn-jung projects who is still green in my book but they thought she's pretty enough to get past green acting. I guess there is enough fans to support her and I can't deny her connection to the fanbase.
I would be more than happy to trade GYJ for this actress because I don't have to suffer too much compared to you.
Casting a role is not always fun and sometimes it's out of their control when stakeholders make a deal with agencies to supply them with green actors and actresses in hope of striking gold or dumb luck.
I've completed this in 3 days on Feb 2, 2026. Originally, I would've docked a full point for casting Deaf roles to hearing actors and actresses... but I realized that Korean entertainment is slightly behind in time compared to American entertainment industry. We are ahead with two Oscar winning Deaf actor and actress. We casted real Deaf actors and actresses more in the last 10 years than in the last 100 years of film industry.
I'll forgive their reasonings for casting hearing actors and actresses for Deaf roles just for now.
But in the next decade or so... please improve the quality of opportunities for Koreans who are truly Deaf and HoH so they can dream to be on TV or Movie.
It's very difficult to understand Deaf culture and the history behind every sign language around the world. It's no accident that 1880 Milan conference was a flashing point in their destructive mission to ban sign language. Gallaudet University refused to adhere to such thing and preserved American Sign Language. As long as we still can communicate in ASL or any other sign languages... we are not silent in such world.
It takes about 3 years to be good at ASL or any sign languages but an entire lifetime to master it. It's not meant for cute or bubbly moments... it's meant for family, friends and strangers to connect in good and bad moments. It's why you got to see Eun-soo smile in such moment. The only respect I would ask is that if you claim to desire to learn ASL or KSL... don't pretend to give up because it's hard.
The finale is worth the wait... especially how it reminded me of One Spring Night and Something in the Rain hot scenes. I thought the story is decent but somewhat predictable even though fans debated about who did it. The chemistry is very good with everyone. It's very easy to breeze through full day of marathon session.
I am used to KDrama mess but the last few episodes are better but I understand if many people are unhappy with toxic beginnings and in the halfway between 1-12.
It's such a decent KDrama to finish and I enjoyed watching some good moments. I thought they tried their best to make sense of everything but I guess it's hard to match the power of real God ha ha ha. The ending is not so bad as it seems in hindsight and I am sure most viewers are going to come away with some satisfaction in completion.
I've given it a 6.5 rating. I felt that there were some good moments such as original FL before she is Vet girl but I didn't think their chemistry was on fire as it should be... ironically. I enjoyed some supporting cast moments but honestly, they are just there to support the main couple story. I docked some points for overusing classic KDrama tropes few times for staring and saving from something. I understand they have to fill some scenes to make all 16 episodes possible but sometimes it didn't make sense or they forget to follow up on it.
I think their acting is fine but writing part and pacing may need more refinements. It is not a bad KDrama starter for any beginner in this fantasy romance genre. I guess that's all I got to say about this KDrama.
It’s nice to not take anything very seriously once in a while and it’s intended for ridiculously funny tropes. Once you’re ok with serious actors doing wacky stuffs… you’ll enjoy this one.
I liked the cast but it’s not the greatest script writing ever so it got 8 from me. Ahn Eun-jin is one of my faves in KDrama and I think she enjoyed working in DK.
The finale ending credit sequence made up for some stupid trope moments.
So I completed this on December 25, 2025 just before 11 AM EST. Merry Christmas 2025
I've known that there's been bad blood since the days of Alchemy of Souls S1 to S2 period. I've not warmed up to her yet but I'll always try again and again.
Ep. 5 ending scenes reminded me of "Foreverwood pt. 2", Everwood series finale episode where Amy finally made the move to convince Ephram to be together forever with Ferris Wheel.
Even though I don't click with the main couple but I do understand the importance of creating moments such as this Amusement Park fun night. It's obviously set up with staring at the lover trope but it works for most viewers.
Anyway, I'll finish this KDrama on time. If you're happy with it... great... but if not... that's cool too.
She is good in Heartbeat and Hope or Dope. Is this drama bad? I’m planning to watch it.
If you’ve liked her in the two dramas that you’ve seen before then I don’t see any reason to skip this one.
It depends how much you like the actress to tolerate mediocre storyline. It’s a mix of overused tropes with flat chemistry in romance.
At least they got paid for their time.
It’s really meant for both fans of main couple but I’m watching for supporting cast for ex… Lee El best known for My Liberation Notes.
Slice of life genre is much more of my thing but it’s important for me to keep track of major Korean actors and actresses. They won’t always get to act in the best stuffs so if this is just a paycheck or obligation to meet for their careers then so be it.
You wrote, "... not bothering with comment section anymore"
I think you need a therapist to figure out when you're really done with your time being invested in this comment section.
Also, I am not entitled to change my point of view just because someone is addictive to react instead of questioning their own sanity.

10/10... I think is the proper score.

It’s funny because yesterday I saw his character dies in a movie then he acted happy today in this ending.
At least they must’ve enjoyed doing crazy stunts and ridiculous scenes.
