That's really interesting! At first I would've replied that it may be due to the fox bead but then I realized she…
But we have to think how exactly 8 year old Ah Eum could've rebelled against her "father". I would be guessing that after knowing that something is inside her father, she chose to exile herself to distance herself from it. We'll see what happens but I still don't think she has anything to do with Princess Bari. Maybe we'll know more when writers elaborate on her parents?
Also it has a much darker tone than other fantasy dramas, which could be why its getting new fantasy drama fans…
Yeah. Airing this at 22:30 is certainly a disservice to it. Like I said in another comment, I certainly would not watch the island arc as it aired as I was scared shitless even when I watched it at the middle of the day. It's a shame because this certainly deserves more viewers.
Its on TVN,a cable channel.6ish ratings is a very good number..Of course ,if it had PBG or similar stars it would…
I agree. They did a disservice to this drama by not airing it at prime time. With how scary the first few episodes were, they really should have aired it later when more people are awake. If I were in Korea, I certainly would not have watched the early episodes (especially the island arc) as they aired. 21:00 slot would have been way better commercially speaking.

Hey Uki,
I would respectfully disagree with your opinion that this show is a let down. I initially stayed away from it because I thought it would be bad but I certainly do not regret watching it.
Both the FL and ML are doing a good job in respect to their acting and I like the romance too. I can agree with the clingy part (although it is in a way more poetic in actuality) but I don't see anything creepy. LDW is a pretty good actor as well (His performance in Goblin was superb as well).
They made the perfect choice for Kim Bum. It's quite a character from him.
I've seen Kim Bum in That Winter The Wind Blows. He really does the role of the clingy but very dedicated and maybe even obsessed sidekick very well so its a no brainer he's doing superbly here.
From the preview, it seems Rang is going back to the bad side since he is bound by the deal to kill Yeon.I also…
Exactly!
All I feel right now is a strong urge to punch him. Kid Imoogi did the part way better. It's also unrealistic to see someone with a completely different facial structure "grow up" from the kid imoogi to our current imoogi.
Hmm that's a good point but is it just a lack of English equivalent in terms of translation? I know some languages…
I've read before on r/KDRAMA that sometimes, there are cases where the translation using the names instead of the proper honorifics can actually spoil the drama as some characters' names are supposed to be left ambiguous till revealed.
Plus, like the other commenter said, it's probably just a lack of translation. I don't think referring to Ji Ah/Ah Eum as "that woman" has that much of a negative connotation. One of my favourite British series "Sherlock" actually uses "the woman" when referring to Irene Adler (Sherlock's love interest). I'm sure the actors saying "that woman" is meant in a sense that it's his long awaited love that's been reincarnated.
I'm sorry if I don't make much sense. I had a train of thought that I lost.
I found this review of a book about Princess Bari (modernized) written by a Korean Author. It gives some insight into the original Korean Myth. It seems Princess Bari is the seventh daughter of the royal family which is in line with Ah Eum (who I believe is the seventh daughter as well in the Drama). This seems to be as far as the similarities go because Bari was abandoned as soon as she was born due to a lack of genitalia (Apparently Bari means abandoned) whereas Ji Ah was snuck out by her servants at the age of 7-8. Plus, Bari basically heals souls which is why she is correlated to shamans which I don't think neither Ah Eum nor Ji Ah does.
I just think he desires Ji Ah because she is the reincarnation of Ah Eum who was born as a sacrifice to him. Plus, he "died" while inside Ah Eum's body so maybe a part of his soul is inside Ji Ah so if he gets her, then he will get his full powers back. This would explain why she has scales and can be controlled and manipulated by him.
Also, I just checked the Wikipedia page for the % ratings. I thought this would at least break 10% but it seems like it's dropping. Is it that unpopular in SK?
i think the show is pushing a loveline with shin joo
Yeah at first I thought it was just a cut to the next scene but considering the context of the scene prior (where she's asking him to sleep together), I think it's pretty evident.
Lol. Apparently there is a theory that the Imoogi is the son of Taluipa/Gatekeeper lady. If that's true then that…
Maybe. But for all we know, he could just be something the writers put in as a plot device to convey the fact that Lee Yeon killing himself to save Ji Ah would ruin his chances of reincarnation. He may actually not play a part in the story other than that.

Part 6 of the OST is out!

Go Princess Go is what I'm assuming they're talking about.
The why however, is pretty interesting to think about. Maybe it's because he didn't get to be a mountain spirit?
