I see we are ignoring Wanyins hypocrisy of trying to save their lives as if her leaving the palace wasnt putting…
I was insanely angry at FL for leaving the palace. When ML has gone berserk when she came back, I was ok with it coz she needs to understand what's at stake. She needs to understand that keeping ML in check is more important than other things. We have seen him losing it multiple times already. If something happens to her, he will burn everything down. So, atleast for the sake of kingdom, she shouldn't be pulling such antics again. But when she apologized to him, I melted down. No one can truly stay angry at Chu Ran. Just some puppy eyes from her and everyone will be under her control lol.
OMG!! ML in tyrant mode is dead scary. It's better others stop messing with FL especially Prince duan. The day something happens to FL is the day that Xia kingdom will fall. That guy will kill everyone. It doesn't matter whether he knows martial arts. He has such an authoritative voice that even the scariest of people will start obeying him. All those villians are nothing when compared to him. Proper Emperor material.
I know there are some ridiculous love triangles in C-dramas too, but at least they’re not in every single drama. Lately, the writing in C-dramas has been much better compared to K-dramas. When I said something like this earlier, someone corrected me, saying that it’s no longer just love triangles in K-drama, it’s basically the FL having a harem.
If this were a K-drama, the Prince of Yan would have already fallen hopelessly in love with our FL. Even Prince duan would be urging her to leave the ML for good, promising to make her his empress. He would even start questioning the ML with lines like, “Will you be able to protect her?” and so on.
This is sooo good. With each episode it's getting even more interesting. The chemistry btw the leads is amazing to watch. They complement each other very well. Ryan Cheng killed it as an emperor. That subtle acting of his is a pleasure to watch.
FL is too soft for her own good. She is trying hard to pull SFL towards her side but few sweets words from SML are enough to make SFL go running back to him. I don't like the fact that she exposed her secret to SFL. I don't know whether that's a smart thing to do considering the fact that just a few moments back SFL had almost thrown FL under the bus. I am waiting to see the reaction of SML when he comes to realize that FL has been fooling him all this while. The guy thinks of himself as the greatest manipulator of all time and this reveal will be a huge blow to his ego.
It’s disgusting how both the current and former Empress Dowager preyed on the teenage ML, crossing boundaries in ways that amount to molestation. I don’t even want to imagine the horrors they subjected him to. I think they are showing it on a lighter note but I think it's more twisted that I thought that a spin off series can be made about his before he met FL. That tyrant persona isn’t an act at all; it’s the suppressed trauma. I hope the story dares to show us more of his dark side.
She may be poor, but that doesn't change the fact that she betrayed her. I can't stand people who think they're…
I was even hoping the ML had her killed, because the FL is far too soft for her own good. The ML knows how cruel this world is and he has witnessed horrors that would break most men. Even Prince Duan can’t hold a candle to the ML’s ruthlessness. There’s so much pent‑up emotion inside him that I don’t know when he will finally explode.
SFL is still a character in the book. Basically, the book is about SFL transmigrating, so her being a transmigrator…
According to the story our FL should have been just a 2D villian character and SFL should be the main lead but FL getting transmigrated here completely changed the destiny of that character. FL knows that SFL character transmigrated as part of the story and that's the reason she tested out that theory in the earlier eps. From SFL's pov she is the only one that transmigrated. If you observe, our main leads were the only ones who's testing out theories regarding if there are other people who got transmigrated. Tho there are many hints in front of SFL that kinda hints that FL might be q transmigrator she was never able to deduce that coz at the end of the day she is not a real person. She can't think beyond her setting. The story limits her character's approach.
Wait!!! ML transmigrated here when he was still a teenager. So, I def think that crown prince is his biological son. The chance of crown prince being born even before ML transmigrated is impossible. This changes everything. Maybe this is the main reason ML is lying to FL. From FL's pov, crown prince isn't related to ML. FL is thinking that she is in the same boat as ML with both of them transmigrated here as adults. I don't know how she will react when she comes to know that kid is ML's biological son.

As others said above I think SFL is just a 2D character. She transmigrated from fictional modern world. It's just the character setting. Even tho she transmigrated that part itself is plot of the book, so she is still a character of the story. But I am kinda surprised to know that ML transmigrated to this world much earlier. So, basically he grew up here. His sufferings were real. His past in this world made him the man he is today unlike our FL who got transmigrated here as an adult. I kinda feel sad for him that he grew up alone. It felt weird for me when he cried in the 1st episode when he met FL but it all makes sense now. He might have been waiting so desperately to meet her

I understand the harem part but considering SFL being transmigrated from real world, doesn't she have a mind if her own? I understand the fate part and the setting that she is destined to be with SML. Maybe if they had shown the history btw the second leads then that wud have been more believable but for now her having such deep feelings towards SML is something I don understand. Maybe it's just the setting like how the characters in the story doesn't have a mind of their own. They don't have a choice.
Guyz, I am confused. Why is SFL acting like she's been in love with SML for a long time. I thought she got transmigrated to this place. When did she started loving SML? And is it that normal for the concubines of emperors to have affairs with other men?
Confessing to FL when she is in a vulnerable state. That's a new low. Until yesterday the guy was hoping for her to abort the baby and now suddenly he wants to be their gaurdian. My humble request to kdrama screewriters to come up with something better. How long will you guys stick to these stupid love triangles? What's with the melodramatic music when FL and SML are together? You want the audience to feel something or what? You want to us to feel sad for SML? WTF? I can literally count on my fingers the Korean romantic dramas without any stupid love triangles, and I’ve watched more than 100 by now. For some extent it's fine but you guys overcook that traingle by dragging it throughout the story that it kinda rots the entire drama. As a lover of K-dramas, compared to previous years when I used to feel that anticipation for episodes to drop, for a show to air, or for all episodes to be released at once so I could binge-watch and even curse the makers if they made schedule changes or an episode got delayed, now to the point of dropping dramas midway, I don’t know what went wrong. It’s not like I’m past the age of feeling butterflies whenever I watch a swoon-worthy scene, because I still feel it when I watch something good. It’s just that the essence has completely disappeared from K-dramas. But I’m still hopeful.
K dramas and their never ending love triangles. The world of entertainment is evolving so much but these writers are still stuck on love traingles. This could have been a good mature story. ML's interactions with FL in the first 4 eps are so thought out. They were so good. His approach towards the entire situation felt so mature but Idk what changed in the last 2 eps. The war btw ML and SML in the 6th ep was beyond childish. Who even writes this stuff in this day and age? They are not even teenagers for godsake. I understand the writers intention of making this light but that's just too much. Such a good premise....disappointed. Still this is a solid 8.5 drama for me. I hope they tone down on such scenes. So.....off-putting.
SML should either confess or f**off. ML atleast is making attempts but what about SML? I hate it when characters(including MLs) suddenly start taking initiative when that someone comes into picture. If you truly love her, you wouldn't be so inconsiderate to keep her waiting all this time.
I have seen all sorts of bad secondleads stories but this has gotto be the worst. I mean, the whole cheating thing feels too deliberate, just to bring the second leads together. I am skipping all their scenes and the worst part is they have many scenes together with our main leads, like going on double dates and etc. The way the breakup happened between the SFL and her ex feels too... I don’t know what to say?scripted. I suspected something like this was going to happen the moment I saw the SFL and ML’s friend meet. Idk why the writers always feels the need to make the people around the main leads like each other. Feels unnatural and very forced at times. Am I the only one feeling like this?
