I'm just confused why he suddenly called xiao wu his lover, cuz he always referred to her as nothing but a sister…
actually another comment said that he didnt really say "my lover" the translation is more accurate to "someone i love" which honestly makes a lot more sense for him to shout out "dont hurt the people i love!" so yeah XD hopefully that makes the scene seem less weird
I liked Xiao Wu. The way the screenwriter/director made her character, she's not as annoying as the female lead…
yes! she was an "blank slate" done right. istg the ashes of love fl annoyed me so much. what is different between the two? well xiao wu has ambition, she has a task, something she's striving for. .shes also competent, she can fight, fend for her self. shes not with the bs, she's actually the most mature when it comes to moral compass, level-headed thinking etc. she doesnt know much about "mundane life" or wahtever, but she just needs to learn that stuff. what she posesses is steady morals, a kind heart. she can also see through everyone and their intentions. she wants to make the world a better place. she is loyal to her friends. she has no ill intentions, no selfish desires. shes actually great!
I can't believe that I fell for the dramas wrote by the same screenwriter and now, I'm waiting for season 2's…
omg thanks to your comment i just finished probs my fav fantasy cdrama lol. thanks XD this was a good show. im also with you on young blood. where the hell is s2..... they'll probably do joy of life s2 first which i dropped so XD its gonna be forever
Disclaimer: I swear I'm not saying this because I'm a Xiao Zhan fan or anything, all genuine thoughts.Sorry I…
yeah i was totally invested in this. i binged it in like 4 days. why was it so addicting when ive seen other "slow" cdramas that made me want to skip all through the end? i think you got it right. the worldbuilding was excellent, the way it slowly built was interesting (note, interesting not perfect, there were draggy parts, parts that jumped too quickly, weird plotholes, but still, it was entertaining and had me wanting to know what happens next) the characters, i think you can really root for them. especially the girls, which is find so hard to like in any cdrama. even the "bitchy" healer at the beginning who turned out to treat the "comic relief" guy the most seriuos and praise his talents. also the main girl, at first i was like "here we go again, another niave airhead" but no. she was actually great and totally steadfast in her ideals. finally a couple who stay together all the time and dont try to "protect" each other by hiding things, going off on their own. She said everytime "im going with you." and that was that. also she could hold her own anyway and didnt need protection. the music XD honestly, their was one beautiful ost with the wood flute sound that they used at the beginning in the forest while tang san played with his magic. it was such a beautiful scene with the music being perfect for the "enchanted forest" vibe. but then for some reasson they used it for like... really random moments of low-activity, like them talking in a room or wahtever XD or a silent part in a fight. i was like... ok XD we using this music now XD osts.... for the most part i think were just used in inappropriate times. wow, i still loved this tho. cried when it ended LOL this is the best fantasy cdrama ive seen.
why arent they protecting their two healers! thats like rule no. 1. they cant defend themselves for the most part, theyre there to heal everyone so at least occasionally look out for them. they can handle small amounts of time on their own with tricks and stuff, but literally none of the other members are checking up on them XD they cant survive full blown attacks. lol.
acutally, i think this drama has some great ideas, even if it is executed sometimes poorly, also its obviously lower in budget then like, class of her own or something, but i was really impressed when she made her novel about the two couples breaking up and spread it to the public and then the public got mad about the arranged marriages and started protesting against the grandfather to not break them up. that was a smart idea as he cares about his "face" more than anything.
For me i loved the secondary couple more because they were kind of funny
yep, loved their story. it was hella toxic in the beginning and really unusual but hella entertaining XD hey, villians can fall in love too (and she ended up not being that bad either) also they were really funny together: "hey dont touch me. we're in public" "then i'll use my lips instead" lmao
I noticed that lately most of the Chinese historical dramas are using the same drama/studio set venues (the mansions,…
i think because these historical towns are set-up specifically to film historical dramas, there arent that many options, which kind of sucks cause ive seen these locations a thousand times. to be fair tho, if theyre all based off real history, then at least chang'an or whatever city theyre in looks the same. theres a consistency between what those towns actually looked like XD
Jdrama ratings are crying somewhere in the distance
lol. mydramalist logic. 7.5 cdrama = watchable kdrama = sort of watchable (plus dumb sht) jdrama = the most enjoyable thing youll ever see 8 cdrama = could almost be called a real drama kdrama = pretty good (plus dumb sht) jdrama = probably a master piece but unhappy ending 9.5 cdrama = the worst thing youve ever watched kdrama = either stars song joongki or adultery XD jdrama = rating doesnt exist
It’s not perfect I can agree to anyone who is saying bullsh*t in comments but it’s a good drama. Not typical…
yes not perfect, but definitely has some points to be praised. its got its own interesting take on things, alot of the music is really good. while the flashbacks get a bit choppy and weird near the last half, the beginning of hte drama used them really well. i also genuinely believed they hated each other. it wasnt them hating each other just because theyre the mainleads in a enemies to lovers drama lol.
"hey dont touch me. we're in public"
"then i'll use my lips instead"
