the acting was so natural, really loved the everyday slice of life scenes. this is how a sweet romcom drama should be, not forced romantic moments with balloons and stuff but everyday moments in life. i think i really fell for the actor too because he was so natural playing the "boyfriend" roll.

another thing, i didn't get why people were talking so much about the HH and YY couple, but i know why now XD the other two couples chose each other but they were paired up because there was no one else. You could tell even before they were paired up that they didn't get along because they're both very straightforward and outspoken LOL. Honestly it seemed like a disaster at first, but the more they hung out, the closer they got, and now they enjoy each others company. it was just so amusing to see a real-life love-to-hate couple LOL like that be my fav trope that doesnt exist in real life really, but here they are. lol, and i know that's why other people find their scenes so entertaining lol

this is such an intersting concept. I honestly didn't really get how the show worked from the synopsis, so for anyone like me:
It's basically a bit like we got married in the sense that actors pair off into couples and do lots of activites together to become closer. Their mission is to create, write, act a romanticc drama of their own imagination. The activites they do help them generate ideas etc. and they do alot of improv acting scenes and stuff at the locations they visit. At the end of each couple's section they show an episode of the show they're creating. Basically you end up watching two love stories, the actors becoming closer as they produce their drama and then the actual drama's story.
i don't watch variety shows that often, but this one is really cool and creative, i defs think people should check it out if you like watching behind the scenes of the main couple in dramas, cause thats pretty much this entire show LOL

i like that the couples have a purpose to be together and a goal to achieve aka making their drama. they're discussing love theories and stuff not for the sake of gossip, but to generate ideas for their show and create the best scenes. Its a perfect balance that makes it not cringe lol

yeah, her acting is good enough for me to really believe her characters so its fine XD yes, in the drama the ml was serious all the time and looked in his late twenties, even thirties to me, then i saw the bts with him smiling and goofing around and he suddenly looked like 25 or something lol

i love that their height difference isnt crazy, there's something heart-fluttering about them when they bicker and they can actually look at each other lol. how should i say, it feels like two same-aged people interacting rather than an adult and a child, which i feel some dramas give off that vibe, especially when they make the fl dumb

yeah true XD its more if i like a character so much, i want to preserve them in my memory for as long as possible. then again ive sene like 50 bai lu dramas so like, i dont really follow what i say hahaha. i really thinnk the ml is big dork too hahaha, he look slike a teenager in the bts

oh ill have to check that out sometime then. tho i have trouble seeing actors as anything but the first role i see them in lol. yes the ml is really energetic and loves to sing and stuff in the bts lol

yeah lol, her face is literally perfect to me lol, so funny XD plus she can actually act, and she isn't cutesy in the waay she holds herself (but she does have a very cute and pretty face) i think it stems from her real life personality which if you watch in bts, she's quite poised and elegant as opposed to fooling around, and the ml is the one who's childish and silly. so funny, their real personalities

they do tend to do well in the warm romcom area, i sometimes wish they'd tone it down just abit tho in their modern dramas, as some scenes can get a little ridiculous, or just plain cringey, but yoou're right in that they seem to know how to use the right type of characterse, cinematography, etc. to make a feel-good atmosphere. i also cant imagine them ever siging an actor with a no-kissing policy lol. mangotv loves their kiss scenes hahaha

omg. she's literally so pretty, and im not even saying that as an exaggeration. she's probably one of the prettiest actresses in china right now. my opinion of course, but HOW could anyone consider her "average" let alone "not pretty" lol how XD

sorry if that sounds confusing. what i mean is that the princess and general get a happy ending. what we don't know is whether the two characters were real or if they were just characters in the writer's story. The writer's wife won't wake up, so he writes as story with himself as a general and his wife as the princess and gives them a happy ending, so that even if his real life ends sadly, in his book at least, they can be together. hope that helps (:

yes, ep 36 continues after ep 35 ends. well, you could also say it's the ending of the story the writer wrote, but either way, it's the real ending of the general and the princess's story.

EP 1 FIRST IMPRESSION
- wow, most of the sets are gorgeous, not the highest budget ever, but so pretty with the flowers. that round archway with all the flowers on it *french kiss*
- the FL doesnt irritate me, thought she would cause of how young she looks, and OMG loandbehold she actually explains stuff. omg, so refreshing, the frustration always builds up in me when the fl always gets interrupted when she tries to answer, just lets others talk over her, says "wait, i can explain..." or "its not what you think..." but then trails off. like btch say it faster or louder lol. no, she explains everything so nicely, even when no one asked lol. i could cry *wipes tear*
- i like the dynamic between the main couple so far. she doesnt act cute in an annoying way and is quite capable in her work (not a clutz or dumb) and their interactions feel REAL, like he doesnt really belittle her like shes some kid, but theyre more fighting like people that are the same age, does this make sense.....

I hope the rest of the series is good

also i hate when they make photocopying seem like a hard job XD its like.... you just press a button, you could be writing up a report or something which requires actual thinking. hahha, even if it's a tedious task, you could be doing much worse. #firstworldproblems

after watching a thousand of these types, id really like to ask anyone who has a secretary/assistant/admin type of role in real life, how exaggerated are these dramas. I can't imagine a personal assistant spends half their time making coffee and im sure there are lots of actual administrative and scheduling, organising to do (aka. ACTUAL work lol) but the problem is, ive yet to see one drama do this believably. I've also noticed they tend to be given tasks that veer into personal errand territory (yes i know its super exagerrated for tv, i know no real boss will force his secretary to be his fake gf lol) but still, things like picking up clothing to wear for important events, stuff like that. Does it vary depending on what kind of boss you have, or is that part of the job description. Is this where personal assistants vs secretaries start diverging in job description. Anyway, i'm just curious XD i always watch these shows and look at the FL and wonder... wth do you actually do for the company????? hahaha

yeah she's totally irrelevant. although to outsiders she his "concubine" shes just the housekeeper that lives in his mansion. they're both aware they dont have a romantic relationship. she saved his life once so he's repaying her by giving her a place to stay. shes not a real concubine, he's never touched her and doesnt plan on doing so.
