omg lol. same. i feel people who have read jane austen or anne of green gables etc. have this weird love for slow-burn bickering romances hahahha and this drama does it quite well. I too wish they'd not changed up the story with the whole chang-an, royal scheming stuff. I loved the daily life of their businesses, with no life-threatening drama and just two people coming to terms with their affection for each other, while their cute servants egged them on lol

okay, this drama kind of messed up the romance near the end adn it got weird adn choppy, but when he confessed by scratching her hand in that dance. omg, that was such a heart-fluttering momentt, omg. i was not expecting. it gave me 'something in the rain' vibes when she held his hand under the table, yoooooooooooooo

i wouldve rated this drama a good 9.5 despite its flaws if it had continued the good thing it had. im kind of upset they made the ml secretly a prince, they were all dragged off to the capital, all these crazy cliches happened when we'd just spent the last 20 episodes avoiding cliches. ugh. im just gonna pretend the last quarter didnt even happen. its still worth watching tho, imo.

This drama isn't perfect but i just loved the slice-of-life vibe it gave off. maybe to most people that's considered "boring" but it was so nice seeing the characters talk about random things, see the prince's relationship with his servant and how they were friends. I liked that the story was set in the silver city of merchants, not in the palace. The bickering, the friendship. I liked that they put lots of attention to detail in things like that. at least for 2/3rds of the story (before everything changes and they go to the capital, cue all the royal court scheming) it was a really unique and interesting experience. I didn't really like the female leads character and the writing wasn't flawless. but it was fun to watch. and i love slowburn romance ahah

can someone who speaks chinese explain the joke about qingliu's name and the lock, something about a bird's sound or something XD it wasn't explained in the subtitles but i know they were teasing him in some way lol

he could be dubbing himself, it just means the sound isnt recorded as theyre acting

the plot is litearlly insane. but there are some really good moments. everything is just really really beautiful. its so weird XD its almost such a big shame that all the acting and videos were edited into bad quality scenes lol. i almost want to re-edit all the scenes, put them in order and take out any random crazy parts and reupload it so more people can appreciate it lol. id 100% do it if it wasnt illegal lol XD

errrr, i cant really remember exacctly but i dont think it lasts too long. its true she never went to his school which is why he doesnt think it's her but actually, she's the daughter of his teacher. . she always hangs around after school waiting for her mom, so yeah. he mistook her for a student there whic is why he cant find her cause she never went there

no, no love triangle. a proper one anyway. the main guy's female work partner likes him and causes trouble, but she never had a chance lol. shes also not in the show much. theres 2 other couples. the female psychologist and the male leads assistant and later down the line, the best friend doctor and the bitchy model who turns out to be a nice person XD so yeah, hope that answered your questions

preach. i am so FREAKING sick of the male leads being ceos if its set in a work place, hte school genius if its highschool/uni or the crown prince if its set in ancient times. i am soooooooooooo bored. their titles become half their personality traits. if the guys a normal person then theres so much character they can give him. ugh. makes me roll my eyes into the back of my head, like are we supposed to be impressed your a ceo by drama 100000000. youre all ceos, no one cares anymore.

also, it kind of adds to her hatred/fear of him cause shes scared of red things and tsubaki flowers are red, tchhyeahehhh lol

for anyone that cares cause i dont know if they really explained it in the show, but ml wanted her name to be sakura (cherry blossom) cause his name, tsubaki is a type of plant/flower. its the red flower in all the flashbacks. also at the beginning of each episode, they show two japanese desserts, one is a cherry blossom flower, the other is a tsubaki flower to represent the pair XD i reallly like how they put so much symbolism into everything lol.

i thought the girl was short but the male lead is actually 188cm omg lol. usually you can tell someones really tall because of their long limbs but he's so well-built i thought it was the girl who's just short XD i really watched this entire thing not knowing he was that tall XD

I hope so too. I think it's true chinese culture does pay special attention to their skin, but I highly doubt it's as dramatic in this show. that's just insane. I like to think that it was exaggerated by the ML's guilt for hurting her that was built up over the years and thats why through his eyes, any mention of it was so triggering. I don't think normal people particulary care, but i think we all know how harsh netizens are on chinese celebrities if they aren't perfect porclein dolls, so maybe all the extra characters were like that because they were in the modelling/beauty industry???
