oh ahahha, thanks. it's been so long since i watched this, but i vaguely remember the whole "i have to leave oversease for some reason, im conflicted, long-distance relationships apparently dont exist" type of thing and being annoyed by it haha. so yes XD i agree. Thanks for the reply XD actually re-reading this review has made me realise ive become a bit numb to stupid female characters lately lol, i should up my standards to my past-self who noticed when FL were written propely or not. same, i wonder if it was meant to have more episodes, they were such an interesting pair to explore XD both so childish, and sort of a toxic beginning but hella entertaining to watch haha

omg. i love the 2nd male lead. He's such a great actor and has a really interesting style. Plus the character is so interesting. I also love his pairing. Yes, the girls a total B** (at least in the early episodes) but im honestly so sick of FLs being pushovers with 0 personality, that her crazy divaself is so refreshing and fun to watch. Their insta-hate is hilarious and love thier bickering. As long as she gets a proper redemption arc, i think they'll turn into the best part about this drama

yeah, ive been a fan of zhou yu tong since Young Blood. Still think that was her best role, but I enjoyed her in this drama too. There was just a bit too much cutesy stuff in this drama for me lol. But yeah, still one of the best dramas for 2020.

Loved teh cinematography, ost was beautiful, the actors were all great, especially the leads, their chemistry was amazing too. even after they got together it was so natural and not cringe (maybe it comes from the actors being older???) but I mostly just loved the downtime parts of the drama, where they're just hanging around the mansion with the 2nc couple. those parts were done so well. Loved all the friendships. The political/revenge part was okay, I feel like it was really hard to get into at first, and i was hella confused because of the editing. But this was such an enjoyable watch. The seccond couple were stars in their own way, loved them so much. This drama, I could rate it a solid 8 if they hadn't made the FL so dumb. I mean, i got over it after a while cause everything else was so good about this drama. But really, writers? Anyway, I still reccomend this drama cause it has a different vibe to it than most dramas, just ignore the FL and watch for the lovely costumers, music, chemistry and family fun lol.

yeah, it really was more like a second season. I've seen otehr comments saying the reason they made it 6 years was so that their kid could be old enough to be sassy and talkative lol. fair enough, like you, I just pretended that they hadn't really been apart that long LOL

yes. I loved that they explored how the characters were feeling throughout their contract marriage. That's what made the trope seem so different. Especially with ML, exploring how he felt being used, but then falling for her, hatinig himself for it, not wanting to have expectations he knows he shouldn't have in a contract. It makes for a far more interesting story than as you said, overdramatic conflicts with bitchy females or trucks-of-doom, whatever. And I'm also with you, I was loving the series with all my heart till the time skip happened. I was so mad because "really? is it that hard to find a decent cdrama that doesn't go off the rails near the end?" but I kept watching, and I don't know what happened, but I became interested in their more grown personalities and the new dynamics.... I guess like you said, there wasn't much left to explore in their younger years. Although it felt like i was watching a different drama, it was still written focused on the characters feelings and emotions, rather than events, and watching them cautiously approach each other again was fun to watch. My only problem with it all was the REASON she had to leave, I didn't really buy it, and hiding a son for 6 years is also a big ???? but I'll let it slide for the rest of the good things haha.

OMG same. i watched this after perfect and casual. I was like WHAT NO NOT THAT FLOATY BED. GET OUT. hahaha, also i swear i watched the bts for that scene and they were on a bed in the middle of a beach..... now unless ive gone crazy, who drags a bed onto the beach, films the scene and then edits out the beach for red flowy material XD i dont know XD that flying bed tho

i know... cant believe i watcched a 35 ep cdrama and wanted more afterwards XD this is a first, it ended and I felt robbed hahaha.

this drama wasn't perfect but it touched my heart, the characters nad their interactions. I liked the world they lived in, liked the enviornments and the friends. I liked how this story revolved around the characters and explored their emotions. Definitely not your typical contract-marriage drama. everyone felt REAL. also i think this is the first 35 ep drama that needed 35 eps and didn't drag... really, every episdoe i was hooked. I really feel like I watched a lifetime over these last couple days (probs cause i usually skip a ton) this drama is defs one i'll keep in my mind for a while

okay, simon mustve been emotionally constipated over fangning because him being a total dorky weirdo while chasing si yu is hoenstly so funny to me XD who knew he was that goofy lol. its kind of weird seeing him have emotions lol

kind of hated that the 2nd couple had a one night stand before his redemption arc... but the more I watch, tho i think it was totally unfair to her after he'd rejected her so coldly and used her, this is probably what simon needed to finally stop obsessing over fangning.... maybe he'd realise it was just habit over real love. Sometimes people are in so deep they can't even help themselves move on, so yeah, i dont like it, but maybe it'll shock simon into bettering himself.

oh hell no. director Lu is setting himself up for karma, taking advantage of Si yu. I know he's desperate to keep his step-niece from finding out his true feelings, but you can't keep hurting people like this. Luckily Si yu isn't an idiotic airhead like i thought and knows he doesn't actually like him. She's actually a pretty mature character, always giving advice to the other characters, not doing things because of her emotions, she does her job properly and doesn't slack off like the other employees, she's respectful and concious of Director Lu's image, she had enough sense to not post that recording just to keep her job. I kind of hated her in the beignning, but she's turning out to be a fav

you know, if you take all the typical mango tv bs with the exccessive romance and sometimes questionable romantic situations, this is actually a really unqie and interseting storyline. The FL CEO is emotionless, wants a sperm donor husband essentially, and ropes the ML into a fake marriage, where he continues to be frustrated over her lack of empathy and hates himself for it, while still being in denial over wanting more from her as his feelings grow. Even the family set-ups are interesting. I especially like how the ML lives with 3 older female relatives who are very nosy and playful. The main couples dynamic is a bit like ITS OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY, where the male lead didnt want the fl in his life, but then hates himself for slowly falling for her and expecting more from her stone-heart, the fl is of course not as strong as she looks. this storyline is pretty dark for mangotv romcoms lol. theres some quite dark scenes in here actually.
