Review The Frog
Sigh... If you're a Go Min Si parasocial fanboy, save yourself the trouble and please leave quietly. I promise my review won't hurt your "Queen" even if she read it.

I get that you can't handle criticism, but stop being weird about people having different opinions. I even broke…
Unless you're asking me to give you the most recent thrillers, I have already given you several. I just don't go out of my way to watch any films especially poorly received ones because I consider it a waste of time. Just because the West has gotten over femme fatales recently doesn't mean good ones aren't out there historically... Likewise for NEO-noirs and thrillers (stop calling it noir while you're purporting to be a huge fan of the genre, it makes you look stupid).

You say this under my review where I thoroughly go over why I thought it wasn't good and not a single mentioning of the actress' look. You really must be a special breed of stupid.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. I do agree with the poster that it's unrealistic and lazy writing.

There were two bodies in the cornfield, one of the police officer and another that must be the child
This is the right answer. It was never found.

no different than the average mdl users who never seem to like anything
Again, why are you lumping people "hating on the show for no reason" and people harassing others together? People hating on the show are no different to people praising the show. It shouldn't matter. They are stating their opinion.
On the other hand, people harassing people is loser behavior.
How are you going to say that such harassment is commonplace on this site then assume it's a single experience? Are you dumb?
No, it's not the hArVarD dEbAtE cLuB, but unlike other review sites, it seems a lot of people do not understand the point of criticism and how to engage with differing opinions with maturity. Even now, you're lumping "haters" with harassers. That's an abnormal view and resembles parasocial behavior. Why are you being so overprotective? Let people speak their mind. Is this MDL or a Taylor Swift fan club?

I opened my arms to your review until you needlessly added Lee Sun Kyun's suicide. Ehat was the point of adding…
? Why would it be a mockery if I'm saying the series is trying to lazily capitalize off his death by making a "social commentary" about media encroachment in melodramatic fashion?

Edit: I rewrote the review and made it more formal. It should be a lot clearer now.

Okay? But they're not going over and harassing people for praising the show, are they?
I'm not saying people can't openly praise a show they like or criticize a show they don't like. They need to stop being weird about people with different views.

That's the charm of MDL, critical thinking is not welcome here, double-standard, on the other hand...
Honestly, I would be in LB if the series was listed up there...

Istg, MDL has the weirdest people. People praise the show but can't defend why. Then, when people critique the show and elucidate exactly why, they start throwing tantrums.
This is a review site. We are supposed to give our opinions and explain ourselves. If you disagree, write exactly what you disgree with and we can debate or discuss. But stop getting salty and being weird about a difference of opinions and taste.

this sounds like a doctor's visit
I get that you can't handle criticism, but stop being weird about people having different opinions. I even broke down why the writing was not good as a thriller in the comment section and you said you'll return with your "aNaLySis," but did nothing. Then you come onto my review and talk shit. Defend the show if you think it's good, and if you think I missed or overlooked something, then state it. But stop jumping on people criticizing it because YOU liked it, like some loser.

You call it nitpicking, I call it logical gaps and poor writing. 🤷‍♀️

This was not draggy come on. I was glued to the screen from beginning to end. Are you sure dark thriller/dark…
So many: any Hitchcockian thriller, Manhunter, Peeping Tom, and for more "recent" stuff: Se7en, American Psycho, Gone Girls, and Misery. The latter two can be very good reference points of how to make good and realistic thrillers with minimal deaths using a female villain.

Well, I can break it down:
Usually what people mean by 'stakes,' there is something of 'value' to lose. In this case, it's the father's life, his daughter's, and his friend's. The cop's death is pretty obvious because he's courting death and he's a douche. Those are the factors that kill a character 99% of the time. Furthermore, thrillers typically establish threat levels and good ones try to keep those levels high (as that makes it thrilling). So what does this drama do?
Well, the actual threatening aspect of the girl is that she killed her step son. Then, when her perceived threat level is at the highest, she drugs the father and later hits the father with her car. So, what were the consequences of either events? Nothing whatsoever. The father leaves scot-free and only the illusion of the threat remains (she blackmails the father using the safety of the daughter). And for the rest of the drama nothing happens as the killer just chills in the guest house in predictable fashion. Then, when the father's friend meets her, she could easily kill him but she simply ties him up. He's alive and well. Then, the daughter is also captured and her body is hidden from our POV! Oh geez, will she spare her or kill her? At this point, the killer's threat level is extremely low and the ways she "captures" her preys and has exhibited how threatening she was are so unbelieveably ridiculous that I simply didn't care what happens next. All I know is I'm at the whims of an illogical writer who will do whatever he or she wants to. The killer could literally chop her head off and the father may simply sew her head back onto the body and resurrect her. That's the sort of logic I'm expecting at this point. But yeah, why would a writer make his or her character bark like a chihuahua without any bite? Probably because he doesn't want to kill his characters, and that's what happened. But even if the writer did kill a few of the characters, the story was so badly written I don't think I would care.

you give 3-4 to every drama you watch how can i trust you 😭
Don't worry, you have taste and preference. Something that's hard to come across in the MDL community apparently. I definitely prefer your watchlist over isa's. LOL

If I rated all the dramas I have watched for the past 6 years, the vast, vast majority would all range between 2-6 with a handful of exceptions. Any cinephile or drama enthusiast knows drama quality has gone down the drain. Whether this is permanent or there will be a paradigm shift in the future, who knows.

Didn’t the cops find the body together with dead cop at cornfield?
If it's acidic, any plastic container will do. If it's basic, any container will do. You just don't want to pour these liquid down any plumbing system since it will erode or clog the pipes.

The only real alternative is she could have buried the kid nearby, but she'd have to avoid the dashcam and also risk getting seen dragging the corpse. Why would she go through all that trouble if she can fit the kid into the suitcase and do whatever she wants with the body after?

I finished it but I still don’t get the connection between the two cases except the police officer that worked…
There isn't a connection except that they were two business owners who got unlucky with serial killers as their customers. That's why the show keeps repeating the idiom about how throwing a stone can accidentally kill a frog. The business owners are the frogs and the killers are the ones tossing the stone. This is why both killers also give tacky nonanswers as to why they were motivated to kill their victims and did it at the rental homes. It was to forcefully connect the killers to the person randomly tossing the stone in the idiom.

The Wailing also addresses the problem of evil (it's pretty obvious how much this drama is "inspired" by that film), but it's a lot more nuanced and less down your throat than this.
