Liu Xue Yi has many talents, is dedicated and has charisma without being arrogant. But...it's much more: he is…
Ah, I won’t drag other actors down. Negative energy doesn’t make things positive. But, I do think Huanrui wasted LXY if they’re only now giving him ML lead roles. I think these companies focus too much on having one person support the company rather than diversifying their portfolio according to their talent’s strengths. I look at Jaywalk and if Dilreba goes, they’re done for because they didn’t bother to cultivate anyone else.
Liu Xue Yi has many talents, is dedicated and has charisma without being arrogant. But...it's much more: he is…
Yes, he seems like a gem. He’s definitely got a star air. I was really impressed when they said he really ate the chili sauce to get the spicy look in the scene. It’s the mark of a good actor. In the current climate, Huanrui are really idiots not to be giving him more ML roles.
I feel like Xiao Ran used some English because we posted on her wall that foreign fans are watching. We told her foreign PXR and LXY fans have been working together to promote the show.
Can't agree more! Even though they are just living their lives and was just in the wrong place in the wrong time,…
Haha, sorry not sorry. I didn’t know it would be this exciting either tbh😅 But at least you get watch it in real time and be suspicious with everyone else🤣I’ve never felt so paranoid while watching a show. It’s really brilliant.
Seems like dr. Bai knew lot about hong me's family, or he is her dad? When the new ep btw, the story is getting…
If you need subs they update at 10pm Beijing Standard Time on Youku and Tencent. If you can, please try to watch through these channels because while their TV ratings are high, the online viewership is low.
Hats off the this director. If what is said about censorship is true, bad guys aren’t allowed to be illuminated nor grey (though I think this has to do with platform) which really restricts how stories get told. Instead of going the typical route of straight depiction which might not make it, he has instead created a situation of paranoia in the viewer in even if the characters are acting normally, the viewer is suspicious. There is no need to tell both sides of their story, they are just living their lives while the viewers make their own calculations. This gets full blooded villains past the censors without them losing their depth.
Secretary Lu is so annoying. Director Guo needs to focus on being a good doctor and not a matchmaker lol confusing…
Yeah, it’s suspicious after she told Lu to stop sniffing around that she then starts playing matchmaker. Love how everyone is just getting less trustworthy in this show. I really think everyone’s a spy now.😩
Tonight you can catch the cast on the variety show, The Play Is Beautiful, where they will reprise their roles and act out key scenes from the drama. It starts at 22:21 Beijing Standard Time.

Now I have to praise Liu Xue Yi. Thank goodness the show chose him. Sometimes it feels like handsome men with good acting abilities and a sense of chemistry are a rarity in Cdramas. But looking at LXY, he has a classic handsomeness, has good line skills, is able to express some quite delicate expressions, and has good chemistry with both actresses in the show. He also looks like a great crew member from all the laughter I see in the tidbits. Although I have not watched him before I have heard his fans say many times that he will not be boxed in by a role. I remember when he shaved his head to play a monk and all the fuss around it only to deliver one of the most beautiful monk characters I’ve ever seen to date. In Huamei, I can also see this. Not many actors would take on the role of Ji Danyang. Or if they did, they would ask for changes that dulled the refreshing dynamic JDY has with PHM. An actor who allows the script to do what it is supposed to do is worth praise.
That senior official in the beginning of episode 9 is an artist. In the first trailer PHM is looking at a painting…
Not that he’s the murderer but that he’s potentially also a spy in general. In the first official trailer for the show, there are shots of paintings and her looking at a painting knife.
I hope with this show, people will stop complaining about Xiao Ran’s ability to choose scripts. Many young actors…
And for those who say she keeps playing Xiao Feng, there will never be another Xiao Feng. Xiao Ran herself has said this and it is clear she means this otherwise she would have continued to choose silly white sweets who are beautiful yet miserable and are abused by the men in their lives. There is a market for this no matter what people say; it would be easy to stay in this zone. She has the looks and temperament for it and some of her fans prefer to see her this way. Many artists often get typecasted once they have a successful role. Xiao Ran has mentioned in interviews she gets quite a few sadomasochism scripts. I don’t doubt after GBMP, she probably got a lot silly white sweet scripts too. But the next costume drama she chose was Jun Jiu Ling, cool calm Jun Jiu Ling, a character completely opposite of the hotheaded and impulsive Xiao Feng. Then she chose Ye Lingshuang, a tough rebellious outcast who grows into a capable Dowager Empress. Then there was Jiman, who believed women have to support themselves. Not only did she set up her own business but she created a means for both her friends and village women to find financial stability that would give them agency. Later she took on Li Binghe, who wouldn’t let love nor parental pressure stop her from reaching her Olympic dreams. Last but not least, there is Pang Hongmei, a whirlwind of a girl who comes in guns a blazing and chokehold throwing but in quiet times pouts at her captain and gets tricked by Ji Danyang. It’s a great resume and I hope PXR 48 continues to grow with more strong, full bodied, 3D female characters.
I hope with this show, people will stop complaining about Xiao Ran’s ability to choose scripts. Many young actors rely heavily on either their background or their companies to get ahead- Xiao Ran doesn’t have either one. She just has a desire to act and challenge herself with different roles. If you look at her history of character from after Xiao Feng, they’ve all been positive full blooded female characters who grow into capable women by the end. I think this is intentional but it’s generally acknowledged that good stories of this type are hard to come by and Xiao Ran is not a first line actress- these heavily coveted scripts won’t come to her first or sometimes at all. I’ve always said it’s an access issue and that she does the best she can with what she gets offered. I feel like Hua Mei proves this. A lot of people questioned this drama when she was the rumored casting because the director and screenwriter weren’t well known. But she still took a chance and chose this show. Now we have Unshakable Faith and the great character, Pang Hongmei. I believe the director when they said only she can be Pang Hongmei. There aren’t too many actresses in her cohort who can convincingly play such a strong, capable , and fierce character while still believably portraying the remnants of cuteness and girlhood a character at this age might still possess. There are also few that can speak so well with their eyes, which is crucial for Pang Hongmei whose police officer role often requires her to wear a mask. Anyway, long story short, thank goodness Xiao Ran stuck with it long enough to be able to access a script like Huamei. Now we can enjoy the results🥳
PS> Episode 9 was absolutely amazing. It could most definitely compete with other crime shows on the world stage.
Yes! A good drama can only be achieved by the total efforts of the actors and crew.
Unshakable Faith broke 3%🥳🥳🥳🥳
