Yeah these downgrades always coincide with when this drama beats that drama in the charts. It’s too coincidental.
Tbh, this happens to all PXR dramas on this site. Sometimes they go up with time but MDL always seems to rate her stuff quite harshly compared to others. Not too different from Weibo I guess.

I wonder if it’s because they’ve realised there’s foreigners watching through these channels. The show recently broke 21000 so maybe they’re paying more attention cause they can make money.

I really like how none of the characters are perfect.

Gonna start doing that now. I swear this downvoting only happens when this show beats out this other show in the charts.

Honestly I hate when people downrate for subtitles when it’s obviously good quality. It skews the ratings of a lot of good dramas.

I read this and thought it was really good. This drama is honestly really good. It’s a shame it’s getting ignored on here because it’s a main drama and it’s getting trashed on Weibo because the stars aren’t traffic.

I really love the captain. Tbh I want all 4 of them to just be married to each other. I’ve never watched a configuration where all pairings work.

What kind of sour chickens are still downrating this drama? Is it because it beat out a certain idol drama again? 👀 I really don’t believe people can be that pressed over subtitles to downvote an obviously good show.

While I’ll acknowledge the subs may be an issue for some, please don’t down rate the show because of them. It’s something completely out of the show’s control.

I almost feel like overt romance would kill their vibe because it’s that tension that’s delicious. It’s like they permanently stay in that squabbling ambiguous state, which is usually the best part of most relationships in Cdramas.

I don’t read the subtitles too much. I just listen mostly. With the translated bits on Weibo, I can piece things together.

Yeah, I think if you don’t understand the work that went into getting it in English and getting them to acknowledge this show to foreign fans, you won’t understand why some fans are okay with MTL subs.

I’m at the point where I just watch stuff in pure Chinese so the subs don’t bother me so much. With them I can basically get what’s going on.

Ya Huamei broke 2 today in CVB ratings!!! This is not an easy feat for a show with no marketing and non traffic stars (actually some big traffic star shows can’t even break 1…but that’s another story…). Hats off to the cast and crew!!🎉🎉🎉

Nope. There’s not supposed to be any overt romance according to interviews. It will all be subtle and full of subtext😌

Seems like it’s kinda following the book with Bai Hui being suspicious of being a spy.

We probably weren’t even supposed to get this show in English so this will probably be the best we get. This crew doesn’t seem to have any marketing budget so it was probably the platforms doing it as cheap as possible.

I think companies just have a tendency to focus only on one talent and everyone else gets scraps. That’s why there’s that concept of First X of X company. It seems to be determined by who in the cohort gets a hit first and then it goes from there. But I think this logic is wrong because it puts all the eggs in one basket and doesn’t develop talent enough. This just shows it because the minute he has been given a good script, the results are amazing.
