She does the best that she can though. Hua Mei feels 100% different from any of her other roles, so I hope she can show her growth with this show.

Yes, I would say out of the 90s cohort of xiaohua, they’re definitely the two biggest contenders in my mind in terms of expressiveness, lines, and the ability to empathise. They are also the two I think show the most promise in being able to transform from idol dramas into more demanding and mature roles as time goes on.
