Ep.12 was so funny to me. Omg she really out here risking her life for the Majesty's task lol
Episode 12 is pure gold. They play so well off each other. And that joke about being old and not handsomeššThis show is really getting better with each episode.
Risking another ban to post this interview with Xiao Ran about Xinghe Changming: https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4844476230535122 Even if you donāt speak Chinese, itās worth a watch because it shows Xiao Ranās original lines, her state in raw filming, some scenes that have been cut, and a kiss scene.
FSF is really in a league of his own in this drama. When he confronted General Jie, that scene was so powerful…
Yes! That scene! That scene alone gives me faith in the original intentions of this show no matter what it is now. Not sure what was up with the Yebei crew but the acting of most of the Tianqi actors is all on point and heās the cherry sitting on top. And I donāt care what the naysayers are saying about the main pairing. Iāve watched pretty much all of PXRās major roles and I think the opportunity to act alongside FSF has been a blessing. Acting is king and if a young actor wants to be a good actor they should work with good actors because they learn. Iāve even seen some BTS of the crew teaching PXR how to bow properly.
Just saw ep 9 and 10, and the episodes keep getting better. The cut is not as blah as before.Lol the King easily…
Outside of the sensitive material cuts, it feels like the creators did what they did to the front to protect this section. Makes sense since this is where most of the powerhouse actors are. Loving the plot and performances. Everything seems more logical now or follows cause and effect. Makes me think the mess of the front really is down to cuts. Itās strange. Iām looking forward to the romance too and usually thatās the only part I care about but I feel like Yu Xiuming and Yezi are actually interesting enough characters with interesting enough storylines to watch on their own. I like watching them apart just as much as I like watching them together.
What I want to see š„¹: Yi Wuyou preparing to save Yezi from execution. What I donāt want to seeš: Qi Hailan pretending to care about Yezi after royally screwing her over At this point Iām willing to pay serious money to see the original version without all these cuts.š
i hope now they are gone and wont be shown anymore :)
Nah, I donāt think itās cause of the cuts cause they feel the least edited. Yi Wuyou is 2ML but has the screen time of a cameo. Yezi and the Emperor in the same frame had like 5 minutes of screen time in 1.5 hr worth of episodes. Everyone else is getting cut to pieces but I feel like weāve gotten the extended directors cut to their love story.š
Iām starting to think the Yebei people, including the eldest princess, really donāt deserve, Yeās loyaltyWhen…
I think thatās why the emperor scolded her so harshly. It might have hurt her feelings but it seemed like an attempt at a wake up call and with the exception of AāRui, heās right. She has had a better life in Tianqi so why ruin it for people who have never liked you?

Also, gotta add Love &Destiny had the best love triangle Iāve ever seen. They were so petty and it was so funny that my favourite part will always be the mortal world.
I don't think it just his age alone, i'm fine with age gap in fact I love that, but these 2 have no connection…
Iāll have a look at some of his clips and see what heās got coming up. And lol about our discussion on plastic surgery. As if on cue, the fans of one of PXRās former colleagues has started posting plastic surgery rumors on todayās hot search about her beauty. š

I havenāt watched too many xianxia to the end but the ones I have and do like would be: - Ashes of Love (purely for Runyu) - Eternal Love - Love & Destiny I loved RotP too. Nini and Chen Kun were a dream combo. Ningyi is the standard by which I judge all young emperors lol. I also like Feng Zhiwei but felt the series really did her dirty in the end considering the books ending. Yeah the hate is a bit strange because thereās always complaints about the quality of dramas, especially costume dramas but if you write off an entire genre being about looks > acting what can be expected? Recently, Iāve seen discussions basically saying the actor is the least important requirement of a costume drama and it blows me away every time. And I donāt understand slamming older actors/actresses either⦠Like this thing if an actress isnāt popular by 30, itās over for her. And if they are popular they can only do āseriousā roles. Itās basically shooting themselves in the foot as an industry. Acting gets better with age. Itās a truth. So many actors and actresses donāt win Oscars until after 30. And, isnt the male lead of Legend of Zhen Huan mature and not so good looking ? And yet, itās a gold standard. So I donāt get the hate here. This emperor isnāt set up as the most beautiful man in the world. Heās just powerful and the attraction lies in his capabilities, which for a character like Yezi makes more sense than a young face.
Is this the Yi Wuyou scene when he tries to save Yezi? I was so looking forward to that sceneš.
I kinda wondered why they didnāt keep their pairing tbh because it was the original pairing and revenge for her death would have been a greater reason than being in love with the same girl.

I hope thereās some important plot point to them otherwise it could have all been Yi Wuyou time. Luckily in the next few episodes I think Yi Wuyou gets more screen time. Supposedly the emperor gets pissed off/jealous because Yezi has a secret meeting with him. š
The attack on the emperor was so lukewarm lol but sis does not need to take a risk for such ungrateful people.…
Really glad theyāre off to Yuezhou to live happily ever after and hopefully no longer be a part of the story. šAlthough I feel they may come back into the plot because of shots from the opening.

Ashes of Love was my first too. The 2ML syndrome nearly killed me.š
I tried Minglan because I heard great things about it but it was a bit too slice of life to keep my interest. I know itās one of his pivotal roles tho.

Female characters have more range I think but silly white sweet is Xiao Feng, arrogant goddess is Bai Qian, girl posing as boy Feng Zhiwei, ultimate baddie Gong Liās Bone Spirit Demon.
