Apparently on the Chinese version of Youku, you can see how much screen time the actors get. Qi Hailan got like 16 minutes, I think Yezi and Wu Yiyou got around 12, FSF got 4.

I feel like the dub for this series may have had to do with the cuts/editing and oftentimes unless the actor has a lot of clout, they have to go with what production says. FSF could have definitely have dubbed himself and I think PXR probably could have done Yezi. Some voice actors are good and enhance the character but I find it often takes away some of the nuance of emotions. A lot more dramas are starting to use real voices though which is good.
I feel like these scenes might not make it though. The young Yezi and A’Rui scene was already cut which provides insight to Yezi’s attachment to A’Rui and detachment from Yebei. Possibly also gives a backstory as to why she just seems to roll with everything. I feel like almost getting burned at the stake as a kid has got to do something to you.
The director posted in the thread in a way that seemed to suggest these scenes won’t make it tho and it was low-key sad.

I posted a link to a recent tidbit video and there’s quite a few romantic shots in it.

There will be romance. I think most of the romance happens in the later episodes. I know I definitely saw kiss and marriage icons in the latter part of the schedule.

From the trailers, it looks like the clouds of angst are coming Yezi’s way. The crying scenes will be on point but I’m really sad to see the cute and rather carefree Official Bai Lu go😭.

Most of the clips are on Weibo or Douyin. YouTube is uploading too be they’re way too slow. If you go to Weibo and type in 星河长明, search results should come up. Click the box with the orange diamond that should say super talk and then select latest post once it takes you to the page. If you scroll long enough, you’ll find videos there. If you use your mobile in the Google app it should auto translate for you.

Apparently they had never done video editing before but were determined to do this. They even went back and did a smoother edit.😂

They are really beating us to death with this eldest princess storyline that nobody asked for and starving us to death with everything else.💀

They do!!! I’m not sure when they’d happen but these tidbits look so good. With all the cuts, it’s really the emotional line that’s saving this show. It’s a shame the romantic tidbits may not make it into the main drama.

It’s still set to finish airing on the 23rd I believe . One episode tonight. Then two episodes on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Then one episode on Friday and Saturday until it’s run ends.

Omg A’Rui and Yezi’s shots too. And the backstory shot of them as children.😭😭😭Yebei tried to burn Yezi at the stake when she was a child and A’Rui saved her.😭
The level of cutting is getting heartbreaking. So much of the character’s personalities and relationships nuances have apparently been lost.

The weird reactions may be down to changes to the dialogue/script after the drama was filmed.

If you don’t know who she is, that means you definitely do not know her medical history, shouldn’t know what she looked like “before surgery”, and therefore the post was a rumor/slander. Talk about acting. Talk about plots and editing. Talk about the costumes appearance within the play but don’t spread false information.

They really said “You not gonna take this from me!”😂What is even cuter is it’s apparently the first time they’ve ever edited a video.

Some people think he’s too old looking so they are trashing the pairing which is annoying.
