I feel like their bad Huaizhu was pretty good and LIP captured a feeling in its female characters that I couldn’t…
I think all 3 had the same screenwriter. 🤔Wasn’t that why everyone was worried after the first instalment aired? I feel like a lot of problems with that trilogy had to do with the producer though so even though the lines are cheesy, I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because it strangely works in the trailer and they do seem to have some interesting thoughts on female characters.
I think the problem with early stage HeYu is that shy love is almost always in the details but Yin Tao isn’t…
It wasn’t shot right. SMY doesn’t stare deeply into people’s eyes but he does protect them - that’s how he often shows his love at that stage. That scene should have been shot with that feeling. It’s not about romance so much as it says BHH has become one of the people he wants to protect. The audience will fill in the gaps.

MYM and TLY should have been mostly filmed by the director of Group B so their flavour is a little different. MYM’s actress also has the advantage of having worked with a director like Yin Tao before so she knows how get across the emotion even if the director doesn't capture the detail. So you can find the atmosphere of LianMo on the first watch otherwise they wouldn’t have been one of the first non SMY BR videos to hit 1 million likes on TikTok.
Romance is indeed a subplot but I don’t think it’s entirely correct to say we shouldn’t be focused on it during romantic scenes otherwise what’s the point of them? Yin Tao should have done the detail work in the early stages. It doesn’t have to be mushy or overly saccharine.
Like the fall into the tunnel…why have them stare into each other’s eyes when one character doesn’t emote? The focus has to be on the details and action. It would have been much better for BHH to be terrified and flailing to then be grasped tightly and protectively by SMY. Even if what SMY says is emotionless if the director focuses on how secure and steady his grip on BHH is then viewers don’t need much to see his concern and protectiveness. If BHH reacts by gripping him back tightly and nodding at his words of reassurance before they both fall together, viewers can see a sense of trust developing. Bam, there’s the atmosphere.
I'm on EP 7 now and not gonna lie, there are parts that bore me and there are really good parts of the story so…
I think the problem with early stage HeYu is that shy love is almost always in the details but Yin Tao isn’t that type of director. BR is shot like it’s on the track of a fast paced theme park ride- you’ve barely taken in one scene before the next scene comes. There’s little time to build the atmosphere that that kind of love requires nor is there really a soundtrack to support it. Most of the details only come on rewatch.
did youku always that intentionally reveal such a big spoiler on their bts video of their coming soon shows?i…
Yeah, like this scene- what people will care about is was it filmed well not so much what happened. And most passer-by don’t follow the show closely so they won’t see these kind of spoilers.
I liked this drama, but two things I was disappointed in watching this drama… 1, the “ relationship” between…
There was a scene in the script where they meet again and he writes her letters as a result. It’s probably in those letters that the relationship deepens. And when they stop, Mu Yumo gets worried and starts looking for him. This pairing is really constrained because the author wrote them as a love at sight couple and thus didn’t really do the work to establish their connection. It’s really due to PXR and ZSA and their chemistry that this pair can stand up. I think things ended up why they did because the ending has already been determined in TBOY and BR didn’t really deviate from it.

Dramas from IPs want to attract fans of the original work so trailers will often show key plot points for source material fans to see how the show is handling it.
Even If it has sad ending also i think it will be nice only because if u read the novel , the original behaviour…
But Cangcang is more prepared for the real world and palace life due to her early years as an orphan and then being raised by her dad, who is prime minister. She’s not as much of a target as Xiao Feng and she will call Xiao Huan out about any of that sort of behaviour. She does it multiple times actually.
Yet again Peng Xiaoran (Mu Yumo) and Zhang Shi’an (Tang Lianyue ) are just as good looking outside the drama as inside the drama: https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5230776653187720
