And MYM’s chasing of him later makes sense. After 20 years of being chased she finally gets the thrill of the chase. She’s someone who probably has to take orders so being able to give orders that’s are obeyed without question must be fun. Plus, she can get a taste of normal everyday life with him and that must be nice.

I thought so too but I’ve come to see it as a bit of worldbuilding. That maybe in such a dark environment, assassins take joy where they can and the flamboyance is a sign of individuality and strength. The Lantern Children and the Nameless wear very simple clothes but family heads all wear flamboyant heavy clothing.
