I agree. Mu Yumo was definitely the best choice. The role is smaller but much rarer so it’s more valuable because there are few younger actresses that can play the trickster vibe or switch between sweet and royal seamlessly. The pairing is also pretty good because almost no one gets sister dog right.

One of her edits is nearing the 1 million likes mark on Douyin. That’s wild. I don’t even think Youku posted it in the international app.

Actually to be fair to Mu Yumo , she’s trapping Tang Lianyue so she’s on the assassin grind too.

There’s really no reason to downvote this show for lack of romance. Theres been not a shred of false advertisement. There’s no tag for it and it’s been explained since the show was filming that romance wouldn’t be the focus. From the beginning it’s been said multiple times that there’s not too much and it has to take a backseat to the giant power struggle (unless you’re Mu Yumo). Who has the time to be spinning around in circles and gazing deeply into each other’s eyes when there’s a brawl every five minutes? Even the most developed relationship as of now, started from a fight. The setting is assassins and killers. People are literally giving murder roses as courting gifts- please adjust expectations to the show’s grim dark worldview that doesn’t (quite realistically) have much time for saccharine love (unless you’re Mu Yumo-she does what she wants).

Seen it happen before. It’s a common thing in the Cdrama world on Chinese sites but I’m surprised to see it here.

Pacing. Scenes are too short and there’s very few breathing space scenes. But the anime is like this. I think the real tone of the show might begin once it leaves the anime’s arc. It feels like the director is trying to get through it as fast as possible.

It’s kinda everything because the original work is a bit of a shipfest so pick the ship you like best. From what I remember from the anime and heard about the book(I haven’t read the book).
