How's the romance so far? I'm waiting to finish airing to start watching
Complicated. Art direction is good, beautiful and authentic costumes and sets (saw at YT they took 9 months to build the palace), and good acting! I especially like Tan Jianci as Prince Zhou. The script for the inner court conflicts and plotting are quite well written. But the love relationships are pretty messed up.
Read the discussion and analysis on Fuyin, so I thought to write one for Ying Ying too. I like Ying Ying and was…
Ying Ying had been pampered and taken care of her whole life. As the younger child and only daughter in Lu family, she was much loved. But she was in an aristocratic family, and much as she could have all the luxuries that she wanted, she had to follow arrangements and orders set by her elders. The clothes she wore, what she studied and learned are not within her control, and of course, her marriage too. What happened in ep 28 was her on-the-spur of the moment thinking, to live for one night/day the way she wished her life could be. She loved Yan Zifang (or more like an infatuation) and wanted to have a chance to know that love (no matter how stupid that was). And took that decision.
Read the discussion and analysis on Fuyin, so I thought to write one for Ying Ying too. I like Ying Ying and was quite shocked at what she did in ep 28, but after thinking over, it is actually not too surprising and might even be quite 'logical'.....
I am a new Dilraba fan. I am currently watching her in The Long Ballad and I have watched Eternal Love. Also I…
Others have made good recs, but for me, the drama that made me 'fall in love' with Dilraba is Diamond Lover. Althou she was the 2FL, her performance in this, is GOLD ♡. She played an emotional, high-strung actress; a short clip of Dilraba in Diamond Lover => https://youtu.be/1pg1f-Vb1As
Thank you for this. While I'm familiar with Meteor Garden, Fated to Love You and It Started with a Kiss, as I…
The World Between Us is a HBO Asia production, but I think you can find it at some free sites ^^ The Victims' Game and On Children are Netflix productions.
This drama is portraying men as lustful persons trying to own or bang any women they meet and taking advantage…
At Long Ballad, the men are so PG and innocent, while in this, the men are so male chuvinistic .... It feels weird to watch both dramas. The kid crown prince in TLB is the crown prince here (per history)! Such different portrayal of men in 2 dramas base in same timeline, smh
I just realised there are two directors for this drama, perhaps that is the reason why
Is that so?? I haven't realize.. thx! But I think issue is on the script (or maybe on Yu Zheng) Some parts are very clever writing but some parts is max drama, like the old 90s and early 2000s melodramas...
I haven't seen such a drama for so long, I even thought they don't do such tropes anymore... On 1 hand it serves candy floss, on the other hand it serves bittergourd soup. Smh
I was more shocked at who Ying Ying married... The relationships in this drama is all messed up -_-"
.... this is seen in previews for next week's eps -_- https://youtu.be/ZhBmFBPPHp4 you need to know Chinese, it is mentioned in the dialogues. I like Ying Ying a lot, I tot she is the only good hearted and sensible female supporting character... when I saw this dialogue I wanted to flip the table. The drama is giving us really good, exciting parts and sweet sweet scenes, mix with very angry parts
I love all mentioned T-Dramas, but I don’t like the phrasing “the first two eps are boring” for SOOD. It’s…
I read a post someone made at Douban, having just watch 1.5 episodes, he/she was questioning the drama's rating base on that -_-" .... Even for myself, I tot SOOD started out like the avg TW romance dramas, the slapstick comedy didn't help in that first impression.... So I was trying to caution the more impatient viewers to give SOOD a chance till end of ep 3, before deciding if it is worth their time to continue.
Initially I thought the comedy in eps 1 and 2 are unnecessary, take away the comedy and you can put it into 1 ep. But after finishing the drama and I re-watch, the comedy is more meaningful. The jokes and relax attitudes of the people around Huang Yu Xuan are a very good contrast to the pain that Huang was feeling. It is actually very clever scriptwriting, and art direction.
If anyone is like me, sits thru the intro and ending songs and feeling upset they change the ending song, we can still listen to it at YT https://youtu.be/KzNgN5u4fjk (spoiler free, only music) I lub, lub this song...
He could not have used Master Su for his own interest. He just wanted to save her from the two kings as these…
And if he did that, Master Su and him would have looked very suspicious. I was surprised no one questioned why Chumu was in the area when he showed up to help Lu Qi in the ambush.... I'm quite impressed with the carriage torn apart scene! It is well shot and exciting XD
Um which ep are you at? I'm shipping 3rd Prince with Furou, but I know this wouldn't happen... He is such a gentleman…
:D I tot he is intelligent, charming and very sweet... lol. Yes he feels like a creep at first, but I realized the men in this drama are all quite MCP. I accepted that is the culture setting in this drama ^^". You do need to try n look beyond this, as there are some harassment situations later (not with 3rd Prince though, other characters...)
