Definitely hate the king, ML is a red flag but I definitely love him, their kiss scenes are hot, editing could…
A π₯ red flag we all like to read about and watch in dramas as completely morally good guys are usually boring π€£ and do not have kiss scenes like that π€£ However, in real life, it is a different story, it would be toxic love story.
So it was voiced by him? Damn, and I love his voice too! I kept thinking if he dubbed himself because he sounds…
He def has good voice and you can se his deep voice in the preview for his next project but according to this ( https://wiki.d-addicts.com/A_Tale_of_Love_and_Loyalty ) he used dubber for this and the drama before this. So I do not know really πββοΈ
I guess the spin and turning is to show how posessive and domineering ML personality is, like look he is a soldier,…
I actually thought he looked jealous as he never had that. Su Yan is his last chance of having happy family and he actually wants to live that with her, for her to embody the role od Su Wan. I think he is fixated on her because of that and since their 5-year contract is expiring soon, he is plotting to remove Yu Wen Yuan so she must stay with him. He knows very well who A Yuan is and that is why he gambled with his son's life, he knew Yuan will save him, and he also knows Yuan does not want to be emperor, but he fears that A Yuan will take Su Yan away and he wants to stop that. But we'll see if my reasoning is what they meant for drama π€£π€£ It would be cool if they could show us perhaps some detail from their childhood that shows them rivaling each other their entire lives or smtg like that. But I guess no time for that in a short drama. π€
Director loves to make her spin and turning into his arm.. also so many times the wind blows their hair..And I…
I guess the spin and turning is to show how posessive and domineering ML personality is, like look he is a soldier, general, rough man on the outside that craves love and tenderness on the inside. On the other side Emperor is shown as an opposite of ML, weak as a man, sick, not domineering by himself as a male but only respected due to his "emperor" status, soft on the outside but nasty a bit on the inside. They are quite the opposites. With constant pulling and tossing and hand grabbing, FL is portrayed as a pitiful heroine, victim of "outside effects" and circumstances her entire life. Although smart, she has soft personality and "motherly" energy, and is not actually able to defend herself, rather sacrifice herself for family and loved ones. So I personally think director did well with this show.
Regarding the wind π€£ well director gotta make their star actor, "visual center", to look dashing and π₯. Let's be honest, the show is done well but Li Fei is a selling point for them in first 5-6 eps. π€π€ Then plot details come.
And the preview for the ep 17 is so tragic, Li Fei is again adorably suffering, I am afraid to watch ep 14 and onwards - what if they have prepared us BE π¬. I want to stop at ep 13 when they look a little bit happy and imagine HE for them π€£. I will probably do now what you did before and wait for ep 17 to come out and then watch 14 15,16,17 all at once and reduce the angst of the tragedy to one day π€£
Richard!!!! This man is too much. Can he kiss or what? I'm sorry, but we all know if he had other concubines one…
Li Fei is really cute-face irl with a really manly body with real muscles (unlike many high profile c-actors that are just skinny) so he looks π₯ in period dramas and is easily believable to be a person of some power or warrior due to his stature. He just dominates and sells the character from the first shot. Also his acting is getting better and better. To me he really looks good with long hair and bangs, it makes him even more charming and dashing than his short hair irl. I would like to see him act in good-script wuxia or xianxia too but not in any modern drama atp as he would look too boyish.
True. So basically ML and FL are the same. They have lived such tragic lives, full of deceitful people using them for their own benefit and betraying them. FL did that too to ML, while he did not betray nor deceit her so let's say that he really had it worse. But in the end they are both pitiful.
I'm waiting so I can watch ep 11, 12, 13, & 14 all together.
Well it was good for our coworker-relationship. They missed me like I was on vacation and welcomed me back after finale with stories from the whole month π€£π€£

I am not a chinese speaker so I really do not know the diferences between the accents that make them use a dubber. However even as a foreigner I do notice that some actor's way of talking is unsuitable for costume drama as it stands out in a way or for example is too boyish for the particular character. In this drama the dubber has a deeper voice than Li Fei I think, his line delivery is probably better and that all makes the character in drama more outstanding and impactful (eg. WHD in LBFAD). So yes, many are dubbed. Li Fei's last two dramas probably have better production quality than his previous dramas hence the use of dubber. I am usually annoyed by dubbing, however, when it is done perfectly with the actors acting and suits the character, I do not mind that much.

According to the wiki additcs page, ML and FL and most characters are dubbed actually. https://wiki.d-addicts.com/A_Tale_of_Love_and_Loyalty Li Fei has a nice manly voice and as far as I can hear he was never dubbed before in any of his other dramas. But I am not a chinese speaker so maybe he does not speak or pronounce well enough and they needed to lift his performance in this drama.
However, in real life, it is a different story, it would be toxic love story.
It makes sense that it might be HE since the events are in the ep 17/20. Lets hope so π€π€
