If that is the ending it is indeed heartbreaking. The only winner in death is maybe Yuan to the extent because he died stoically fighting for what he believes in and he has no regrets in life.
Yiren was a madman and weak, blaming everyone else and finding excuses for everything.
And Yan dies full of regret. She realised what a fool she was, she realised she never gave Yuan anything of her love, she realised she never choose him first or at all, hence that "I will choose you in next life" she is trying to redeem herselt in Yuan's eyes. I somehow believe as long as he was alive and well she was able to stand anything, and when he died she realised how much he meant to her and that her life is meaningles. So she kills herself and Yiren to reunite with Yuan in death.

Unfortunately I do not see how they can survive this in this life. They are dead and the end. But I hope they offer us redemption arc or redo arc or any kind of learning from mistakes arc. Otherwise it is just pointless. Like Shakespearean tragedy.

He always does angsty and tragic stories. I do not know if he is served or he choses them due to the complex characters or interesting stories. I do hope he will stay stable as an actor and explore his range, no matter if he stays in short drama or switches to long one. But if he stays in short drama he might make them more popular, who knows, he is a king of short dramas atp 🤣

ZGF was so short and yet Li Fei's performance stood out for me. He wears similar wig and clothes in all of his dramas but you still can tell his characters apart. Something in the eyes of each character is different. I hope he will be stable as an actor and deliver us more cool performances.

Oh I also hate school romance. I find it so unrealistic once I hit my 20s so I also do not want to watch that. I want him in adult complex, grey, passinate, roles and not him trying to be a teenager. So far he delivers that, and that is why I like him. 😄

I agree. I do see her concern, not avoiding MLs attention etc as a sign of her love but girl does not act on it at all. She lets him bear all the weight of their love on his back. That is true.

I do not know what to think abour the ending after ep 19.
I saw somewhere that there will be some specials or something aired mon-tue but I am not sure.
Also there is that special clip on tencent "easter egg 8" where ML cuts through his wound on chest and says her name. I think that fits after ep 19 but not sure. If that is the case than this is a tragic story about 2 man with obsessive love and one damsel in between. And I see no point of the story except look how they messed up their lives 😒

Omg ZGF was a real torture. You could feel the angst throught all the episodes, her hate towards everyone and towards herself, her self-pity and how she does not want to let herself be happy again with ML. And his love for her, passion, the way he is trapped and powerless between her rejection, mixed signals she gives and his emperor duty and fierceness. His despair when she died. Omg. He played that character completely different from others and actors were a good match. But it was so angsty. It would be good to get a S2 in the same tone but I doubt it will happen.

I am also dissatisfied with this. Lets wait for ep 20 cause according to spoilers sister knew FL liked ML. Sooo, I don't know. 😶

Also in one of the clip from his transcripted live stream from April Ithink he mentioned how he only plays period dramas because he looks better in period clothes and a wig and when he puts on clothes, make up and wig he can get into any character and project any emotion, but when he looks like himself then he has hard time being and acting like anybody else.

She is good though. Similar scene but different feeling.
Li Fei is a flirty guy, he knows what he's got and he uses it. I have seen the bts clips where he was really serious while working so we can assume he was in a really good mood in this live, and to me he looked happy the show is well received so hence the extra flirting and joking.

I am so tired of skinny males in these dramas that Li Fei is really refreshing and to my taste. He proves that an actor does not have to be emanciated to look good in period clothes, especially when we are supposed to believe he is some war guy.

I have never thought he is "that" sick. Only mentally a bit. Imho he was a little sick but he was using it mainly to coax her into pity loving him. And I think A Yuan was aware of that. They are brothers or cousins, I'm not sure.
When he realised that she did not fall in love with him and in her heart there is still someone else, and with the contract expiring, he decided to kill A Yuan. Then when she wanted to go with A Yuan and realised that he wants to kill him, he had no hope left of her loving him ever. At that braking point his bitternes wanted to take revenge on A Yuan. They have that rivalty as I have sensed before, so if he "takes" her from him he did not win but he did beat A Yuan. He is mental really.
And we will see who her sister was really and whatvreally happened in the next 2-3 eps.

I do believe they know each other well and get along. Also Li Fei is open and a little bit shameless guy, or at least is not that "fake shy good boy" that everyone think is innocent at 27,28 yo 🤣. Like you could see this guy had a life before spotlight and is not stupid or naive. Also, I do not think he gets embarassed that easily. It can be also due to his fitness model/guru background, that he has high self-esteem, and knows he looks good and is not faking modesty and naivette.

I somehow believe he did. I am not glad to think that, but I have no reason to think he did not. He lost all hope that she will like him one day and he has nothing to lose.
Unfortunately, the lives of ML and FL are so tragic, riddled with mistakes and wrong choices they both made, that I am wondering how are they going to end this show.
