Oh ya, just to promote a nice series here (I hope everyone don't mind) - there is a series named The Promise that I happened to find and so far, I really enjoyed watching it.
Done with EP 2. It was good! The OST being played by Phupha in the bar was lovely, and I know that the comedy…
Meanwhile, the current series, being a longer and more wholesome telling of their story (including the flashbacks), are showing us both the happier and not so happy moments (remember that university orientation scene when they accidentally kissed each other as they tried to hold the ping pong ball up?)
Done with EP 2. It was good! The OST being played by Phupha in the bar was lovely, and I know that the comedy element is not for everyone, but I enjoyed having those moments so far.
Personally, I feel that the Phupha and Nanfah prequel episodes, being condensed summary of what happened prior and after Phupha leaving suddenly all those years ago, focused heavily on the less happy moments between the two of them, leaving out the lighter and happier moments between the two during their university years.
Phupha was really hurt by the loss of his father at such a young age, and it was evident that he still missed him very much. It was mentioned how he work in the coffee plantation as coffee always reminded him of his father.
As of why he did not make the move on Nan earlier, I kind of made some connection (eureka moment), that it was precisely that he did not want and could not bear to lose another one he loves. Unfortunately, in his fear and confusion, he ran away and hide from Nan instead.
Nan was the one who made him to feel happy again, and Phu could not bear losing him. That's my take on what possibly went through Phupha's mind just before he left (plus based on the Phupha prequel episode, it was hinted that he might have thought that Nan liked a girl, or vice versa, and revealing his feelings to Nan could have caused a break in their precious friendship)
I've been stunned by the amazing quality of this story and the buildup leading to it with the Nanfah and Phupha…
Based on EP 1, if we pay attention to Nanfah's email to Phupha, he has been learning to move on from missing him all the time (that rooftop scene with the black cat).
I think that they are going to spread out that angst that Nanfah had, with lots of conversations between Nanfah and Phupha about what happened and more, and they did not want to make the reunion scene at end of EP 1 and start of EP 2 to be overdramatic.
For me, Nanfah and Phupha's character were rather reserved, and while they missed each other so bad, they kept it to themselves, and they would only show it to each other in private.
I have no problem separating the prequel from the series. Let's not make a problem out of nothing.Just enjoy the…
Actually I don't feel any disconnect between the prequel and the series. It was meant to reveal part of the story and not the whole entire plot in one go.
I think it is far too early to make any decision or judgment based on just one episode. There are still many more episodes and I can see them showing more connection between the present and those past nine-ten years period in the coming episodes.
I've been stunned by the amazing quality of this story and the buildup leading to it with the Nanfah and Phupha episodes they uploaded prior to EP 1.
EP 1 is amazing! In short, I really enjoyed the story universe they established and built up, and I really have high hopes for The Promise going forward.
I know everyone has their own opinion, and that is fine, but I don't get what the criticisms below are all about. To me, the story from the prequel of Nanfah and Phupha were clear, that the nine-ten years of separation was something that actually in the end would make them to realise their love for each other:
For PHUPHA: It was for him to finally realise that he has to be courageous and brave to admit his feelings for Nanfah, and not to run away or be afraid anymore as what he (kind of foolishly) did nine years earlier. But I can understand where his action came from (yes, I do sympathise with him)
(I read about this before, and I agree that, often times it is hard to choose between maintaining friendship and revealing your feelings, and I heard that it did become very awkward for best friends if one of them were to reveal his feeling to the other, if it is not reciprocated, and some of those even ended the friendship outright)
For NANFAH: While yes, it must have been very painful for him to be left in the dark for nine whole years plus (and I have similar experience too, so I can relate, and Nanfah's pain must have been way worse), but I feel that it was all those years that made Nanfah finally realised that his feelings for Phupha was not just that of best friends, but love.
Just sharing my opinion here. Looking forward to watch EP 2 on WeTV now (and looking forward to the YouTube release too)
So, is their parents/mothers being obstacle in their relationship? Unlike MSP, tinn's mother accept his son feelings…
This was posted after EP 10 of MSP, at which point of time, Tinn's mother's acceptance wasn't known yet (only clear after EP 12, and hinted at EP 11 of MSP)
Hi all Bad Buddy fellas! Hope everyone here is doing fine~
Just off the high of watching My School President until its finale today. Happy to feel all the butterflies I felt there just as it was with Bad Buddy a year plus ago.
Anyone else noticed, linking all the way back to the first episode that Gun did get everything that he wished?
He ran for School President to save his club, and to get everyone to have a fulfilling school life that year, and while he did not win the School President competition...
He got himself a School President instead - #MySchoolPresident He made everyone to have a fulfilling school year through his Chinzhilla performances and more He saved his Music Club (of course!) (and maybe more)
MSP has ended and now I don't know what to do with my life
You can begin by rewatching it again from the beginning, now that we all know how it progresses and ends, pick up any missed hints and details along the way as you rewatch.
Spoiler ahead I came across many people complaining about the kiss being too basic and I understand that but from…
Not to criticise them, but in my opinion, those who complain are watching without appreciating the nature and progression of the relationship between Tinn and Gun. As you mentioned, they are not the ones who must outwardly show their love to each other with kisses.
I am quite sure that a lot of us here can feel their love, even without all the kisses. Honestly, the kiss is just the icing, but people often focus on the icing so much, they forgot about the sweetness of the cake underneath.
#1 Bad Buddy, #2 My School President, and I don't think any future series is gonna come anytime soon that will ever change this for me.
Thank you My School President for reminding me again of all the butterflies I had when watching Bad Buddy, and thank you for being such an amazing series in your own right!
Best High School BL drama for sure (by a huge margin)!

ผิดที่ฉันเอง - OST of The Promise
Love this OST so much. I can feel Phupha's feelings being expressed through this song. Beautifully sung!

So we will still see some more of them :)
To have their families finally openly accepting them, is the best ending there to their story!
