Our Skyy 2 x 1000stars has started filminghttps://twitter.com/OurSkyy2TH/status/1635192770456592384
If the episodes order is like what they had publicised (which is not necessarily the order actually), then does it mean the rest had already done filming too? Since ATOTS episode is supposed to be the final one for Our Skyy 2.
Maybe we'll end up getting ATOTS first then, which makes sense since it's the earliest one among all the series shown, followed by Bad Buddy.
One of the reason why I love this series because the love between Phupha and Nanpha is realistic and natural,…
Yes, same feelings here. The reason I like the series so much, including the prequel episodes is just how natural their story and characters are portrayed.
Official YouTube channel:https://youtube.com/@devonte296official9
Yes, they have an official YouTube channel, and their channel need more support if this series turns out to be really good (and maybe if we hope for more of the main leads, in sequel or new series with them as main again)
The Promise views on official YouTube (rounded to nearest thousands)
EP 1: 501,000 EP 2: 258,000
Total: 759,000
Note: to be fairly compared to many other BL series (especially Thai) on YouTube that are split into 4 or even 5 parts, I would multiply it (based on my research) by about 3.5 to 3.8.
So, that means at the moment, in YouTube, both episodes total approx ~2.7 million compared vis-a-vis to GMMTV and other BL series, which is not bad, considering that Devonte currently only has slightly under 38,000 subscribers (which has been growing significantly in recent days, but still far below Jinloe, Mandee Channel, Studio Wabi Sabi, GMMTV and other companies' YouTube channel - not surprising as The Promise is currently the first and only foray Devonte has in BL or drama series, and it is still mainly a channel for Devonte's skin and men products)
Some people have commented they can’t find the 3rd episode on YT. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/aesJ7djyoco
Hi yes, I saw another one on YouTube as well, but it is best to watch it on their official channels, and not on others who uploaded the episodes without official sanction or permission. 🙏
I don't think that's Gie Gie in the prequel episode. It's likely another girl from university (I will need to…
I've fully rewatched the episode Phupha, and I am pretty quite sure that the Gie Gie in The Promise (present day) isn't the same as Gigi the freshman from ten years ago.
For me, there is no way for me to link or reconcile those two characters' obvious differences. Just my opinion! :)
I feel that fate is really very strong in this series (and that Oliang is really some kind of personification of it)
(Why Oliang? In several occasions, it was Oliang that somehow helped them to spend more time together in the past three episodes)
In the Nanfah prequel, it was shown at the end that the pocket watch that Phu gave to Nan fell and suddenly went to work again, just before their 'reunion' scene, which is very symbolic of how his relationship with Nan is no longer gonna be in the past anymore, but will be in the present.
And linking to The Promise, they were really reunited again. But I feel that this series is also showing us that while fate plays an important role in bringing the two of them back together, but each one of them have to be courageous to take the step to do something to make their love a reality.
It was kinda fate that Phu dropping his photo frame in his prequel episode - which made him to see the photo of him and Nan together and then watching the video that Nan sent them, that is mirrored with the falling pocket watch in Nan's episode, which marked the moment when their relationship, which had been on pause, is finally rolling again. That must be the moment that gave Phu the final push to finally return to Bangkok (as shown in EP 1), and finally confess his love for Nan (after ten long years)
Nanfah's Episode (prequel) rewatching insights: (Also shared in The Promise page)
From Nan's perspective, which continued on from Phupha's episode timeline, when Nan received that flower bouquet, he linked that to the flower bouquet that Phu ordered - thanks to the hostel mistress who told him about the event on the day Phu left all of a sudden)
To Nanfah, most likely he thought that he might have made Phu very angry again like what happened when he made that blind date between Phu and Deena, or maybe some other misunderstandings. Hence, he spent all those ten years looking out for Phu, out of the strong desire to apologise to him for whatever it was that might have made Phu so distraught (which he thought must have been his mistake)
Note: For me, I feel that Nan can really be oblivious sometimes (and he still has some of this when he was in the present timeline, ten years later), and only realising just how important Phu really was to him, when he was no longer around him each day.
'We only see the value in things once they've already been lost...'
Through everything he experienced in all those years of searching and trying to find Phu, I feel that it was his journey to discover what he truly feels about Phu. Not only that, but I think, deep inside, Nan already realised that Phu actually loved him. That's what I feel at least.
(Hostel mistress made the original flower bouquet Phu was to give to Nan, into a potpourri and gave to him, and told him that she hoped that she could pass that to the special someone Phu had intended to give it to. Unless Nan is really that super oblivious, he would at least have an inkling of Phu's feelings)
Then, when the Thai restaurant owner in Melbourne told Nan, 'In all honesty, I think you know what he was thinking, but the issue is that Phupha did not know what you were thinking. So, do you know how you really feel?', is kind of hinting that Nan actually already knew that Phu loved him, and that 'dream' scene after is showing his true feelings for Phu.
(You don't dream about kissing your best friend if you see him just as a best friend. In truth, he has already fallen in love with him, but it took him just that long to realise it, and he was afraid he would never be able to say it out to Phu directly)
(And that falling pocket watch? It's obvious hint at how Nan and Phu's relationship will not be in the past anymore, but will be the present)
So, I foresee that in the upcoming episodes of The Promise, this moment of truth and confession will be coming very soon. And I really look forward to it, be it moments of tears or joy.
I am preparing myself for what we all saw at the end of the Official Trailer, where a tearful Phu saw Nan walking away from him, as he said, 'I love you, but I dare not tell you', and Nan saying before that 'How was I supposed to know? You never told me.' (this must be when Nan finally found out the truth, either from Phu or elsewhere)
Rewatching the prequel short films again to immerse myself further in the universe. (Also shared this in The Promise page)
Phupha's Episode
Nan was really so oblivious of the fact that Phu loved him, and of the repeated times that he failed to notice how his actions in trying to set him up in a date with Deena, and the previous misunderstandings (of Phu thinking that Nan and Deena liked each other), and the insecurity over Gigi made Phu really hurt.
I can see that it was so hard on Phu when the one you really liked, apparently did not like him back. He wanted to get over that friend line, but he couldn't, and he dared not to (he didn't dare to say that he loved him frankly back then)
That reminds me again of the OST 'My Mistake'
'Beyond that border line, I can't take that anymore'
What went through Phu's mind in the past ten years of his disappearance?
My perspective is that Phu went away because he can't bear to see the one he loved to love another one, and he did not dare to ask either, afraid of losing Nan. After the conversation with Deena (in which Phu told Deena that he actually loved Nan), and after some time, he was gathering his courage to tell Nan of his feelings at last.
And on the final day of Nan's exam, Phu wanted to do that, to confess his love for Nan, but Phu saw Nan and Gigi first, and that dashed all of his hopes and everything. So, he chose to run away.
(That was the moment referred to in Nanfah's episode, when the hostel mistress told him that Phu ordered the same flower bouquet before, and he came back all distraught and crying, which was right just before he went away)
It was perhaps a foolish decision, yes, but from Phupha's perspective, I can feel the pain he felt, the confusion and fear he had, in being able to utter his feelings. He chose to stay away, maybe for Nan's good (in his mind), to make him to be happy with whoever he chooses. But he didn't realise that in doing so, he forgot that Nan deep inside loved him too, although Nan didn't realise it fully yet back then.
(a.k.a. we only really understand the true value of what we had when it is no longer with us)

You explained it quite well.
If it turns out to be better going forward, I say it deserves higher, personally about 8.2 to 8.3.
WeTV releases the episode ahead of YouTube (about 3 hours earlier), and unless you have VIP, it’s still also at EP 2 as well.
So the summary is:
YouTube: Wednesdays at 11 pm Bangkok Time (UTC + 7h), currently at EP 2
WeTV: Wednesdays at 8 pm Bangkok Time (UTC + 7h), currently at EP 2
WeTV VIP: Wednesdays at 8 pm Bangkok Time (UTC + 7h), currently at EP 3
This Wednesday, EP 3 is released for YouTube and WeTV, while EP 4 is released for WeTV VIP

More good story and things coming up soon for this series, I am sure of it. The more people discuss about these, the merrier :)
