I actually said that it is likely to reach 10000 comments by EP 9.

Judging on the rate of how it goes, we may get that before EP 9.

If I want to guess, I would say anywhere between 65k-75k.

Yes there was an improvement in the real time live views, it was constantly over 60k throughout for EP 7 (it reached 65k at one time), while EP 6 was only around 50k.

Before the people knew the kiss in EP 5, that episode was only around 40k plus. So yes, definitely there has been gradual increase in number of YouTube live views. In the earliest episodes, it was around 20k-30k. First episode was a bit higher which is understandable considering the excitement many had after waiting for a year for this series.

EP 8? I predict it will be higher than EP 7, considering the hype by the end of EP 7.

I am rewatching the official trailer of Bad Buddy again while waiting for Friday. If you want some glimpse to the coming conflicts/angst, you can watch the last part of that trailer, the last remaining trailer scenes that we have not seen yet so far up to EP 7.

You can see that Pat will come to be angry with Wai during another rugby match (different costume from the one in the earlier episode), and his Engineering friends try to stop him. There is also the one where Pat was stopped by Pran's friends and the latter asked him if he came to find Pran (not sure if this one was in earlier episode, but I am pretty sure it hadn't appear yet)

And Pran's mum came to Pat's house in one occasion. Those who pay attention to detail will know that Pat was wearing the same colourful beach shirt as the last scene in the new credits (both Pat and Pran standing on mountain? and Pran shouted to the distance).

There is still the shirtless Pat scene playing the xylophone as well (both him and Pran looked in distress and serious), and I am not sure yet what the context is.

Just to share some insight with all of you fellow buddies here!

Note: I found BL series/genre and started watching since mid-2019, so I watched both Ohm and Nanon's series mentioned above after they aired in 2016 and 2017 respectively, and theirs were among the first ones I watched.

My very first two series were Addicted (Bai Luoyin-Gu Hai/Timmy Xu-Johnny Huang) and Kiss the Series (Pete-Kao/Tay-New). Those two couples (one as main and one as side couple) were what introduced me to the BL genre, and since then I've watched over a hundred!

While waiting for EP 8 coming out tomorrow, just want to ask everyone here, where (and when) did you first know about Ohm and Nanon? or see their series?

For me:


Ohm - I saw him first in Make it Right season 1, when he was still paired with Toey back then (FrameBook couple). While Make it Right isn't amazing (it's a decent one to me), I was already quite taken in by Ohm's performance there. He was like only 15-16 when he began filming that!

What happened between him and Toey was unfortunate (example of how fans can end up ruining a pairing)


Nanon - I saw him first in My Dear Loser: Edge of 17, playing as Oh who is the main protagonist of the series (and coupled with a girl). I watched the series first mainly for Pluem and Chimon side couple, but I grew to like Oh (and Nanon) a lot as I continued watching. He was also around 16 when he began filming there.

He and his acting had already convinced me back then, and I liked his acting a lot. Too bad as we know Nanon didn't try out BL at all until Bad Buddy. But I'll gladly see more of Nanon's works, BL or otherwise (of course I want to see more of him and Ohm acting together, as leads especially in BL)

Yup you got it totally right. Pat's character is exactly the same, and Ohm is a perfect match for it. Pran is less shy and more forthcoming, although he still retained quite a bit of his characteristics from the novel. That is how Nanon made his character better, by his amazing acting skills and expressions.

Thank you for the info! 1 month later makes sense, and I think given that it's available in WeTV and GMM25 immediately, it makes perfect sense why 90% Thai viewers would have viewed Bad Buddy there.

Can we hope that they make this wedding a reality?

That will be the happiest ending I can ever hope for Bad Buddy. Well some other series got it (History 3, TharnType, and maybe others), so I hope Pat and Pran can get it too!!!

True, I agree with you on that. In any case, Bad Buddy has been a success, and I think all of us are happy with that.

Let's see how the remaining 5 episodes will surprise, amaze and touch us in the next few weeks.

Yes it happens, but what I am not sure is, do they release the block after the series has completed airing? Not sure what GMM's practice is.

For those who are hoping for the subtitle for the entire interview by World Y, I saw some who are saying that they are going to try subtitling it.

You should read it, as mentioned by Mermaid above. It can prepare you in a way for the angst to come, although the storyline is very different.

And you can also perhaps appreciate Pat and Pran's characters more by reading the novel. It makes your series experience richer.

I always knew that Bad Buddy is not available in Thailand in YouTube (It's available on WeTV instead), but I just realised that practically every other top series by views available in YouTube is available in Thailand too!

(Someone below made me check, and I found out that not only 2gether, Dark Blue Kiss and SOTUS are available in Thailand, but even others too - and I heard that 2gether was available in Thailand YouTube during the airing duration)

May I know if that's because after the series has completed airing, it will be unblocked in YouTube in Thailand (need someone to enlighten me)?

So otherwise, literally Bad Buddy is the only series among those that are in a sense 'handicapped' in YouTube because it isn't available there (unless by VPN). But we should not be sad about it. Why?

Since it passed the 50 million mark earlier today, to put it into perspective, it managed that without Thailand at all, unlike other series. And comparing series by series (without any pandemic boost), views wise, it's one of the top for sure.

(Of course in terms of quality and how it touched so many of us here, we know it's a gamechanger and an extraordinary series, even if its views count isn't so high as it is now!)

Yes, you are correct! I know it was blocked in Thailand, so the views do not count views from inside Thailand unless using VPN.

I tried using VPN and I was amazed. I knew 2gether was available in Thailand on YouTube, then I just realised that so does almost all (if not all) other top series (by views) too!

2gether was immensely boosted by the pandemic and by the supposedly very handsome leads (It's subjective as I don’t find them attractive. No offense to 2gether fans!). I am not sure exactly by how much since I wasn't following it closely back then.

Just a comparison, it now has about 600 million total views in YouTube, after just less than 2 years, while GMM’s #2 BL SOTUS has over 300 million total views after 5 years.

Yes, the most important is we must be clear which source we got it from, as some sources may be more speculative than others.

And as fans, we know that some fans can be really intrusive and treat any info as ammo to try to dig more into their private lives and end up causing a lot of havoc.
