Looking at the rank going steadily upwards (#89 now in MDL), although the rating is now still at 8.7, it means that the rating is gradually going up. If this keeps up, I won't be surprised we'll see 8.8 before this Friday.
I think to be in top 100 out of over 10000 series, movies and shows here in MDL is already a most amazing achievement for Bad Buddy.
I'm not perfectly sure how the ratings are calculated, but it most likely involves both overall rating (plus number of people rating) (Why? If a series only has 1 person rating it 10 because it is totally unknown and obscure, then it will right away be #1 otherwise)
I believe ranked refers to the rating (which stands at 8.7 now)
Popularity means the number of watchers in MDL. This one is a lot harder to beat because those top dramas have like almost 10 times the number of viewers Bad Buddy has now in MDL.
How many of us are still replaying EP 7, especially the last part?
Still can't get over the part where Pat came to Pran's rescue. The way that Pran looked at Pat, it was so full of love. He was totally won over by him.
And of course the scene in Pat's room afterwards. The one we all knew.
since we are on internal ruminations, might as well share with you a passing crazy thought..so what im gonna say…
No!! Please no, still reminded of the stepbrothers CP in History 4: Close to You, and how a segment of watchers were so against them coz of this trope!
Haha, anyway, since it’s internal ruminations, I would say your thoughts is really an interesting one!
This has to be by far the most active Board I've ever seen. I'm glad there is so much enthusiasm for this series…
This drama is just special as you said. The dedication from all the actors, director and everyone involved is just amazing.
Pat and Pran also don’t need to be in a relationship to show us lots of domestic and precious romantic moments. And now that they become boyfriends, imagine just how that will turn out to be!
The dynamics of their unique and complicated relationship, plus the tangled web of the rivalry between their family and friends are always so suspenseful and intriguing to watch.
Regarding Pran's mum saying, 'Just not the kids next door', she was referring to both Pat and Pa (since she said…
And I don't want to read too much into that Nivea product placement in EP 7.
Remember Pat and Pran 'drawing' on each others' faces when they helped each other with cleansing their faces (while being super cute at the same time)
One drew a 'triangle', and the other one a 'heart'. So 'love triangle'
It can represents many things,
'Love triangle' between Pat-Pran-Ink/Wai (Pat is still jealous of Wai, and though Pran knows that Pat does not love Ink, but it still lingered somewhat in his mind) (This one carries more weight because we all know that Wai came to the room after that, and Pat was really pissed knowing that Wai kept Pran's guitar and for other reasons)
Or it can also be a hint of what actually happened between the two families (love triangle involving Pat's dad)
It’s already top among all Thai BLs as of now. And hope it will continue to go up (It should). But there is still…
Addicted Heroin is one of the main cause. I'm not surprised if the authority has already known what happened in the story by Chai Jidan.
I have read the complete novel, and if you read the second half of the story, there is a very explicit portrayal of the military since Bai Luoyin ended up becoming quite a prominent and high ranked military commander. A lot of military scenes too. There are also questionable and not so noble actions in the military officers and members, among others.
That would have been super sensitive to the government. I'm not surprised it is banned. They probably found out after it was released, as it was airing, and seeing its crazy popularity, I won't be surprised that they feared the second half of the novel would be made and become extremely popular (challenging their military)
Regarding Pran's mum saying, 'Just not the kids next door', she was referring to both Pat and Pa (since she said she doesn't mind if Pran dates a guy)
I'm more convinced that something happened between her and Pat's dad. My guess is that, Pat's dad might be Pran's mum first boyfriend. But something happened, and he ended up with Pat's mum instead. Love turned instead to jealousy and hatred, and this carried on even to their kids.
(Why Pran's mum hated Pat and Pa? Because they are reminders of the failure of her love and how she lost to another woman)
I'm feeling that maybe Pat's mum was involved too, maybe she stole Pat's dad from Pran's mum, and this may be the reason why (at the start) she was so competitive with her. Pran's mum wanted to show that she is still the better woman for Pat's dad than Pat's mum (she was still sore about losing out to the latter), while Pat's mum wanted to show she is the better woman.
That is a rivalry that was unsolved, and ended up to the next generation, who, unexpectedly, refused to hate each other (Pat and Pran), but instead fell in love (and in a nice way, will resolve the two families' complicated situation).
That's my prediction (or rather guess) - don't read too much into it. Just my internal ruminations.
Can we not discuss how that Plae Kao Kwan Riam story ends in death of both characters and how this totally won't…
That's why this Bad Buddy is even more like an interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, since we know that story also ended in death of both main characters.
They better don't kill Pat and Pran. That didn't happen in the novel, and I don't think that will happen in the series either. And I don't think they'll go the UWMA way either (You know what I mean).
Unpopular opinion: I would want them in a complete different series than having them in a sequel (coz in my BL…
I just want to make sure that they have a most satisfying and wonderful ending. If that can be done in 12 episodes, then fine.
But if not, then I'd rather they make a special episode, short sequel, season 2 or whatever you name it, to get it properly settled. I do not want the plots to be rushed either just to squeeze into 12 episodes.

If I were Pran, my heart would have totally melted seeing him like that.

Gosh, just imagine how it would have been!
And on a good note, we’re finally below #100 in MDL ranking! It’s #92 now!
Hope they’ll get it back to 8.7 at least.
Quite a few of them are really good, but I’d say Bad Buddy is worthy to be up there with them.
Well, at least that means Bad Buddy just broke MDL system!
(Coz it’s so happening!)

Of course I am happy if it’s real!! Bad Buddy deserves it!
