Done watching till the end. That's an amazing episode. Only Bad Buddy can make me feel so happy (and laugh a lot) and then a second later felt sad (especially for Pran, Nanon was just excellent in his portrayal).
EP 3 surprised me a few times of the plot and development, but I am happy with how the story goes so far. Still too early to tell how things will be in the next few episodes. But the preview for EP 4 again make me cannot wait for next Friday to come. From the little scene in the bedroom, it seems that Pat may confess his feelings for Pran there and then.
Their relationship has been gearing up more and more. In EP 3, Pat and Pran's lift and bus stop scenes have that, the latter was honestly quite hilarious but very cute at the same time (Ohm, you were amazing there!). And this episode ended happily (again we saw that sad door tag changed to smile tag by Pran) with promise that EP 4 we'll see their relationship deepening more (hoping that Pat finally will confess to Pran, or vice versa)
Pat is always the persistent one, while Pran seems to be the more hesitant one. (And I salute Pat's efforts. This episode just showed how much he invested his efforts to make things work between him and Pran, and he can be quite genius with his ideas too!)
Pran may have liked Pat (and has a crush on him) earlier, but Pat, once he likes someone, seems like he will stop at nothing and pursue that person. You can tell from the way Pat looks at Pran when Pran is playing the guitar, you can tell that Pat also has the same feeling as Pran does. (Ohm and Nanon, well done with the way you portray them, your eyes and expressions were just awesome there!)
I'm happy that although they changed the storyline, but the director still stay true to their characters in the novel.
Just like in the novel, Pat is the persistent one. And up to part 2 of EP 3, we can see how persistent Pat is in pursuing Pran and making up to him. Pran is the one who already had feelings for Pat, but he is also the more hesitant one just like in the novel.
Happy to see how Pat never gave up, and kept on trying, for Pran.
Thank you for sharing! Very good insight! Both of them staying in dorm is representative of their desire to escape…
Very much agreed with you. In fact some of those who commented negatively did mention that this show is nothing new and all that, or all tropes and nothing exciting.
If only we learn to read between the lines, observe the interactions and the environments, and see the characters' actions more carefully... We can learn so much more about the story, the feelings, the story and others!
Hidden symbolism in episode 2There's a reason they chose to show Pran refusing to go to Pat's room, but then back-pedalling…
Thank you for sharing! Very good insight!
Both of them staying in dorm is representative of their desire to escape their family feud, and your insight that Pran considered his room as his private oasis is spot on! You can even consider that room as symbolic of their hearts! To allow another in would be (as you said) to cement another's position in his heart.
Note: Pran was still unsure as of EP 2 what kind of relationship he had with Pat, a friend? or something more than that? or something else? (Nanon did very well in portraying these inner feelings!)
And link that to the preview for EP 3. Pat is welcoming Pran into his room is symbolic therefore of him opening himself up to Pran (to a new relationship between them).
Pat - 'If you miss me, don't knock! Just come in!'
Like in the novel, Pat seems to be the one making the first move, although it is explored somewhat differently here. It does not imply however that Pat is top or Pran is bottom (to me, it is more open, as the novel didn't put emphasis on that, and their characters are both strong and dominant)
Alright, annoying question ahead: So in the books, who is top and who is bottom? When I saw that Ohm plays Pat…
Pat is the top while Pran is the bottom in the novel. But it does not mean that they conform to that top-bottom dynamics or usual BL connotations. Both are strong male characters.
So while not shown in novel, I believe both can also be classified as versatile.
The acting and chemistry is definitely the highlight but since it's only 2 episodes, I think it's a little too…
Your Name Engraved Herein being based on real experiences indeed feels a lot more LGBTQ+ than BL. It's one of my all-time favourites!
Not sure if ITSAY got its inspiration from real story too, but it has the same vibe and that's why you feel the same way as I do regarding both YNEH and ITSAY.
Meanwhile, most BL series like Bad Buddy came from novels which may be kind of more fairy-tale, fantastical in their world/relationships. However, I find that Behind the Scene/Curtain novel that Bad Buddy was based on, is kind of different and not like typical BL novels. That's why I like that novel!
Someone's really just hate rating this show at this point. It may have flaws but it's definitely above an 8 by…
Actually I've observed that in MDL generally the ratings will be lower than in other sites.
Not that it's a bad thing. But I agree with you that there are people who do hate rating. This is not the only series I've seen it before.
Nonetheless, if we feel that Bad Buddy is good, then the best way is to show it, explain it, and make others to know what it is truly like. I believe this is the best way to introduce the series to those who haven't watched it yet (and interested).
The rating is dropping?!! 😳 Howww? There are actual human beings who don't like this show? 😳
Most likely the rating will get better after the first three episodes, since most of the issues people had is for the fighting scenes (which likely will be resolved soon if not by the next episode (EP 3)

Looking forward to EP 4!!
The level of flirting in this episode is overwhelming too!!!
No spoilers here :D

Enjoyed the show so far (up to part 2/4)
That was hinted in EP 2 in the flashback scene. And today, it was confirmed! Excellent use of flashbacks!

I understand now the feeling why some said 1 week wait just feels like forever 😣
If we like this show, that’s what we should do.

Not sure how things will unfold in EP 3, but if the fighting ceases and Pat-Pran sweet scenes are amazing, they can turn things around easily.
Not sure if ITSAY got its inspiration from real story too, but it has the same vibe and that's why you feel the same way as I do regarding both YNEH and ITSAY.

Otherwise, constructive criticisms are perfectly fine.
