I know not everyone likes the style that this series is doing, but that is what in fact makes this series is so well-liked by most of those who watched it, because it is after all, a story of memories.
The memories contained in the Yearbook, the memories contained and relived again in that beautiful confession by Phob, which Man’s narration was excellent in making the whole scene even better (plus Title’s excellent acting). I was not bored even a single bit, and the new perspective and angles made the whole story complete, preparing us for the grand finale next episode.
(I am totally not bored, and that is why I have already watched EP 7 five times all in all so far, plus rewatching other episodes again.)
Had it been done in this way for other series, or by other directors or actors, it may have fallen flat, but for this series, it is just perfect for me, and I am sure, for many others as well!
(Note: one great advantage of series and putting a story on screen versus novel or book, is that the thoughts and memories can be visualised, as we see in this series. Memories may be repetitive, but to those who love, it was memories of their loved ones and their most beautiful moments together that will keep on being replayed and remembered in their hearts and minds. This is true.)
Because of this comment, I posted some links and photos from the series to a BL Facebook group I’m in. Many…
Thank you! I am just honestly wanting to help this new series and work by Mean's first directorial debut, and Man-Title's great actor debut. If it's good, it's good, and more people knowing about this will help their future, especially for the two actors.
Mean's already famous as he is, but I think Man and Title have great potential, they acted so well!
This really reminds me of my younger days, when I used that old computer, my very first one. Really on point with…
Yes, I was literally feeling as if transported to 15-20 years ago, and it feels so real because I did the same, use the same payphone and the antique house phone, back then, when I was still in early teens.
This is just so beautifuly made , the acting , the flasbacks, although many , are very well integrated in the…
The flashbacks were so well done too, I was amazed how they managed to do the same scene, exactly same conversation (means it was the same take), but showing the scene from Phob's POV (you can literally put the same scene side by side, at the same time, put Phob one side, and Nut the other side on split screen)
All the songs (there are 3 main one in total) and the particular lyrics are always timed so perfectly, and used so well, that I always teared up whenever hearing them and seeing the lyrics after particular scenes.
And as the actors themselves said, that the ending in EP 8 will be really good, so I am looking forward to see that! Can't wait for next Thursday!
OMG they really got the old tower computer with the CRT and windows XP 😭
This really reminds me of my younger days, when I used that old computer, my very first one. Really on point with the effort to bring back the early 2000s!
I agree to all of your comments. Wow, you are loving this series so much. Great!
Thank you! I know I am not the only one who likes this series so much, but it kinda lonely in this page because it is so quiet compared to other series' page!
One of the most beautiful episodes I have ever seen in any drama or series, BL or not. A lot of it is flashback,…
Additional and side note:
I really love the part where Phob drew out all the scenes of him and Nut being together, and this was one of the few things I didn't expect. Those drawings were seen earlier in some occasions, but I didn't expect them to be Phob's.
They were really beautiful expression of how much he loved Nut, a feeling that grew and grew, and always remained in his heart, even throughout the four years. He was so talented, and probably, losing his right arm made Phob so sad, because not only that he can no longer play music, but also draw...
And very happy when I heard Phob saying that, it was Nut who gave him the will to live (that's why he won't die!) and that's why Puen noticed how different Phob is from other young cancer patients.
And that tribute to people who had been disabled (especially having to lose their limbs) at the end, was beautiful. Not only that this series is good, but it also serves to raise awareness as well of their plight. Being from Singapore myself, I knew Than's story well, and it happened over ten years ago in 2011 and it was all over the news. Glad to see her doing well and inspiring others with her experience!
EP 7 is excellent! One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in any of the many series I've watched, BL or otherwise.
One thing that still makes me really, really sad though... is just how little views this series is getting. It really deserves so many, many more (hope they can upload full episodes to YouTube in the future to gain more exposure). I am not expecting an ITSAY-IPYTM, Love by Chance, SOTUS, KMA-DBK, Tharntype, 2gether, UWMA, MaxTul's Together, or any legendary Thai BL series' viewership level, popularity of other BL series like HIStory series (my other favourite) out there, but it certainly deserve at least decent one befitting other great middle-range series.
And most of the comments and reaction videos came from Thai netizens, although this series is available internationally in LineTV (except maybe some areas?). So, it would be great if you all can spread the word of mouth about this series. (Is it just my perception, or is it that most people here in kisskh are non-Thai? Myself included)
Hope after EP 7, those who were waiting for the ending before watching will begin to watch this!
(See my post below for detailed thoughts - not exhaustive)
One of the most beautiful episodes I have ever seen in any drama or series, BL or not. A lot of it is flashback, but as expected, it brought the whole story to a full circle, showing Phob's perspective.
(If any of you were to disagree, that is ok - but to me, this is a really beautiful episode, in an amazing series, too underrated and need more attention and views!!)
EP 7 confirms most of my thoughts and predictions, and everything went just exactly as I thought it would (read my earlier posts) - and I know that Phob has grown to love Nut just as much as Nut loved Phob from the last high school year.
In short - Phob chose to leave and not to contact Nut because he did not want Nut to worry, and he had that hope that he would be cured before returning to Nut, without knowing back then that it would not have been so easy, and the sacrifice he would have to make is so difficult (losing an arm).
It wasn't easy for him to find the courage to tell Nut this, and it took him four years, and most likely, seeing the Yearbook, that gave him the final push needed to return to Prachuap. When he said to Nut in Episode 4 that he couldn't tell him why he didn't say everything earlier, it's because knowing Nut very well, he could not bear to see his loved one to worry and be hurt by the revelation.
And the part where Phob said that he really wanted them to fulfil their dream together and becoming doctor really made me to tear up. It must be so painful for him to let go of this and Nut both, as he said his farewells before he disappeared those 4 years.
Yes, they were hurt in their own way in the end, but indeed, glad that they were able to resolve everything starting from their reunion in Episode 4, when each of them (to me), accepted everything in a very mature way (I really like the part when each of them said in different occasions said that, 'It's ok, everything's in the past, I've let go of them. What matters is that, now you are with me.')
It was really very beautifully done, and glad to see the story coming to a full revelation, and reminiscing the earlier episodes at the same time. I know that this series has been doing each episodes really well, but seriously, amidst worries that things may turn for the worse, when I watched it the first time, it made me shed lots of tears, and yet, at the same time, feeling happy and satisfied that they finally got to make their feelings known to each other.
It might not be the most conventional way, but to me, the whole first half of today's episode is basically, Phob's way of confessing in full, 'I love you, Nut' and 'Everything that I have done, I did it all because I loved you'. I have not seen many love confessions done in such a way, and in such a unique and beautiful manner too.
That is also why Nut in late Episode 5 and early Episode 6 seemed to be in such an emotional state, remembering whatever Phob had confessed to him, as I am sure he did feel guilty deep inside, that especially if he had not pushed Phob away the second time, he might have known about his cancer earlier, and avoid the four years of misunderstanding and pain. It is something that he certainly did not overcome easily, and glad to see everyone literally supporting Phob throughout, from Pat, to Tar, to Note and Puen.
(Additional Note: Those years of misunderstanding and missing each other - it is very much Your Name Engraved Herein (YNEH) feel here! My other great favourite and amazing series, at least Phob and Nut didn't have to wait for 30 years before they were reunited... and they got to openly confess and embrace their love for each other, while YNEH both film and novel left with an open-ended conclusion)
He really liked it very much and had very good impression on the series and the actors, cinematography and all, and for me, it was technically my third time watching through, after I watched all of Petch's reaction videos.
(You know a series is really good when another good actor, and a Thai himself, spoke very well of it)
Unfortunately again, this series deserves a lot, lot more views than it's currently getting. I know that some people are waiting for the ending before they decide to watch this, but I think regardless of the ending, it is more than worth watching!
For those who are waiting patiently and worried about Ep. 7 tomorrow - while I do not want to sound too optimistic,
If you recall the part in Ep. 5 and the shirt that Nut wore before he went with Phob to the hospital, the scene with the flash drive in Ep. 7 seems to be referring to that. I am sure it is a flashback of what happened just before the operation. Nut couldn’t hold it and wanted to see what Phob wanted to tell him.
If you rewatch that episode again, just before Phob came in, Nut was looking through his computer, reading something and crying - it is likely this scene that the flash drive part in Ep. 7 is going to show us in detail. And that revelation is going to bring lots of tears for sure. I guess, it is going to show us how Phob actually already loved Nut since even back then, and why he chose to leave back then.
So, I don’t think Phob died, but it does not rule it out either.
I don't know who is peeling onions next to me when i was watching those 2 last episodes. they were sad, but beautiful…
Same here, peeling lots of onions, especially the latest episodes. Love this series so much though it's sad. I am both looking forward and not looking forward to Thursday. Looking forward to see the next episode, but not looking forward to more sadness (hope it will be happy ending!)
Actually, I am even more saddened from the fact that this series does not seem to be that well-known, and it is rather soooo quiet here...
I believe Phob not being seen is probably also part of the plot, to create the suspense for the viewers of what…
These two actors (Man for Phob and Title for Nut) have a lot of potential. It reminded me of Billkin and PP who had a very sad ending in My Ambulance. If The Yearbook does end sadly, I do hope they will have another series (like Billkin-PP's ITSAY and IPYTM) where they can have a happier ending.
I liked ep 6. I enjoyed the scenes with Note and Tar, as I find them absolutely adorable. I also enjoyed the conversations…
I believe Phob not being seen is probably also part of the plot, to create the suspense for the viewers of what is to come in episode 7. I do sincerely hope that Phob's operation turns out well - and I hope he doesn't die (I hope Nut reading the notes that Phob gave him is not because he is no longer around...)
Based on 6 episodes - I kind of get much better idea of the relationship between Phob and Nut
By the time the story started in 2002, when they are in the last year of high school (Matthayom 6 - so they should be around 17-18), and since Nut mentioned that he came to Prachuap in year 4 (around 9-10 years old), it means that Nut and Phob have both been friends and then best friends for 8 years.
And from what Phob said, including that iconic scene of him playing the music at the phone booth, Phob actually had already loved Nut since back then, just as Nut more obviously loved Phob (at first glance, more obvious as when Phob said that he was doing the song for Jah, Nut was obviously jealous). When Phob bothered to play his song to Nut in the phone booth, and their stares at the actual songplaying (after Jah left), showed that love that already existed between them.
(Remember what was said in episode 6? The eyes do not lie - and Phob's eyes in that scene do not lie either, having re-watched, I know he already loved Nut back then. His eyes when he was playing the song for Nut over the phone? Same!)
Actually Phob had also loved Nut since back then, and the feeling was mutual between them. However, the series actually presented it very well, considering that at that time, almost 20 years ago, being attracted and loving someone of the same sex is not as accepted as it is today, even in Thailand. And more so, to be in love with your best friend is something that you won't easily understand.
So, it is why he did not show it so openly in the high school time. Things have changed 4 years later (more info will come in episode 7 as to more background to Phob's side of the story), and neither Phob and Nut held back anymore, after overcoming their initial awkwardness over the dinner and finally at that heart-to-heart talk in the middle of episode 4.
It was their true love that they finally embraced together, a man beset by cancer who returned to seek solace in his best friend and lover, and the other, a man who loved his best friend, but was torn apart when he was left behind and by misunderstandings.
Why I love this series so much? I have presented part of my thoughts in the above paragraphs. (And the acting, cinematography, pacing and timely placing of flashbacks and three excellent songs add so much more to me liking the series even more!)
In my first 6-episodes run, I skipped the commentaries and summary at the end of each episode on Line TV. Now as I re-watch and see those commentaries by the actors, I recommend all of you to watch them, as they give deeper insight and additional information.
It is not often that we see a series including good commentaries on scene by scene basis (and that they were done by the actors themselves added to it).
I love this one just as much I enjoy ITSAY and IPYTM. While overall those two are still excellent and better, but The Yearbook is comparable, and given that it is done with new actors, as compared to Billkin and PP who had quite a bit of experience under their belt, makes this series noteworthy. Man and Title did a great job in depicting both the younger and older Phob and Nut respectively. Cannot compare directly too, Billkin-PP/Teh-Oh Aew and Man-Title/Phob-Nut have different personalities and storyline. (Made this comment as some people compare this series a lot with ITSAY and IPYTM in its atmosphere)
Unfortunately, it seems it is not as well-known out there. Please promote!
If only ITSAY and IPYTM are available on YouTube, it may have been as popular and well-watched as 2gether the Series (which many said were not that good). The Yearbook deserve a lot more views than what it has been getting, and pretty much all the comments I have seen in the various channels are very positive.

You can turn on the CC for English subtitle for what he said!
He put most of the episode from LineTV with Eng sub there too in smaller screen
