Rushed? Abrupt? That's what comes to mind when i think about the last episode. It makes me wonder if when reviewing the script the director and production team thought there was only enough material for 12 episodes rather than the more normal 16? Then towards the end of filming they had to pack in too much story in the last 1/2 episodes.
Hmmm... if only there was a few numbers between 12 episodes and 16, .....oh wait....
I am so disappointed with the way Jae Won's character was written! Did the actor just blankly accept the role…
I honestly don't know what purpose he really served they could of just given his storyline to Jin Hee ex-boyfriend/best friend. I can't believe that Park Sung Hoon knew how limited his role would be going into it, it just seems so odd.
I can't help but feel that the last 2 episodes don't entirely fit with the previous 10. Suddenly Eun Mi is acting like a grown up? Jin Hee decides to change her entire life?
Also Park Sung Hoon was wasted here, at best he was a token romantic interest for Jin Hee. His character was woefully under used. Main Role?? Really??? How??? When???
I really liked this episode as it combined everything I hoped for and expected this drama to be from the outset. Eun Mi was the best version of herself, she was the caring mother who is fiercely protective of her daughter, she still took no prisoners, but she showed a greater level of understanding and yes maturity than she has previously shown.
I liked Jin Hong and Ji Eun today, standing up to their parents was a nice touch.
Jin Hee and Jae Won it finally happened! We got to understand more about Jae Won and his situation. Jin Hee, you channelled your inner Eun Mi and took charge, you took that step towards Jae Won.
So yes, I really liked this episode, but it did highlight 2 issues. I felt like I was watching a different version of Eun Mi than she had shown over the previous 10 episodes. Additionally why couldn't we have had this kind of episode earlier? It was a good combination of comedy. drama and a little romance too.
updating the rank of characters that i dislike in this drama (up to ep7) 1. umji brother (unbeatable)2. ceo brother3.…
Interesting, I would actually go with both parents as 1 and 2. They are supposed to love their children unconditionally and make sacrifices for them. Instead, they view them as either a cash machine or an obstacle. Plus when they don't get what they want, here comes a lorry load of guilt!!!
BTW- Kang Min, Dude, you might have thought you were being noble....sorry nope, when times are tough, when you feel you can't carry on, when you feel at your worst, that's when you grab the hand of the person you love and don't let go. You failed Sol Hee and sadly you failed yourself.
So they pretty much rolled out every unlikable character they could find and put them all in this one episode. Parents, colleagues, friends and associates were all there, just being at best misguided at worst evil! It was like a convention of all the characters in this one show that I don't like.
They say you can't choose your family, well Sol Hee and Do Ha really drew the short straw. Their mothers should get together and compare notes on how to be more selfish and hateful towards there own children.
As an episode I didn't love the first hour, it was just ok. The last 10 minutes though flipped everything. The murder reveal to Sol Hee and the perceived lie from Do Ha changed everything.
And I also read even after the war she will still be the same, why? Because even in her little village as a Noble…
The war will most certainly have changed her, given everything she has experienced, but for Jang Hyun and Gil Chae it maybe something that brings them closer together. They now truly have a shared experience. Regardless I like to think that the playfulness they have will remain but now they will be able to grow together.
I agree her character's development is good after 6 eps. She is still bratty but I like her instinct.
The silliness is definitely still there, but now its not the most dominate feature to her character. She has grown and adapted so we get a mix of her entire personality.
I think we are on the same page with this drama. Agree with everything you've said. You even used my favourite…
I think you said it earlier above re-watching part 1 whilst waiting for part 2. I'll being doing the same simply because there is so many details in each episodes that I need to focus on. I love a drama where I'm entertained and intellectually stimulated. This is doing both!
Personally Gil Chae has become my favourite character in this drama because she is just so well written. She is a real human being, she is the perfect mix of perfections and imperfections.
I feel like over the last 6 episodes she has grown from a childlike woman to a resourceful force of nature, in a very understandable and relatable way
She reacts to the situations in a very believable way, which for me is so important. I hate when a character suddenly changes there personality and the audience is just supposed to accept it.
Massive credit to Ahn Eun Jin for bringing her to life before our very eyes.
MY LOVELY FEATURE MEMBERS OF MY DREAREST CULT! aka everyone who is undecided if they should watch it. What are…
I think we are on the same page with this drama. Agree with everything you've said. You even used my favourite word - contrasts! The show delivers them so well!
I know right! I think he is slowly seeing how baseless his trust in royal family is, how his idealistic thinking…
I agree, I think because she is the opposite of everything he has come to expect from his life. Which raises the question, how will Gil Chae respond? Reject him straight away or will she convince herself he is everything she ever wanted? I can see this being the cliff-hanger at the end of part 1.
I know right! I think he is slowly seeing how baseless his trust in royal family is, how his idealistic thinking…
Exactly, it actually makes him a much more interesting character. His belief system is being stripped away. What will be left? It makes me wonder if this will impact his personal relationships. Would this cause him to turn towards Gil Chae or will he cling to Eun Ae?
Ye Bun is really "embracing" her perv......I mean superpower, we almost got a training montage as she tested and trained her perv..... I mean superpower. She now has her trusted sidekick in Jang Yeol who now fully believes in her perv.....I mean superpower.
I wonder if the next time the Avengers ASSemble, Ye Bun might get a call? With her perv.... I mean superpower, she would be an ASSet to the team.
I noticed that during all the pointless chanting the scholars were doing, that Yeon Jun wasn't chanting. It reminded me a little of his expression during his first battle. "How is this happing?" "This isn't how I imagined it would be" he looked shaken, lost and confused. It was like his world was beginning to unravel.
Scholars enough with the chanting, grab a sword put on your big boy pants and get out there and kill some invaders! Crying and moaning won't stop the Khan from kicking your ass! If we are keeping score Gil Chae is kicking your ass on her own!

Apologies, I couldn't help myself😊😊
