I hope no one throws stones at me for my opinion but I like this show better in its serious moments. The silly…
I feel the same, the more serious moments are one of the reasons i wanted to watch this drama . TBF the good thing about the comedic moments is that it helps apply the contrast between the silliness and then darker themes that occurred in ep 3.
Yes Gone With the Wind is a epic classic, but didnt like how they made Scarlett so obsessed with the other dude…
I can't see (fingers crossed) them following the novel too closely, assuming it is based on it. Scarlett was married three times! Plus I hated that Rhett and Scarlett daughter died. As you say, particularly in the film its only right towards the end that Scarlett realises her true feelings, by which point so much tragedy has occurred.
Whilst I can see some similarities between this drama and Gone with the Wind, and admitted its a long time since I read the novel or even watched the film, but I really hope the drama doesn't follow the same storyline.
The novel is a classic, but ultimately a tragedy with most of the characters being deeply flawed. I'm hoping that this drama finds its own path and whilst that might not provide a happy ending, I would at least like characters that are easier to route for.
So far there are enough differences between the drama and Gone with the Wind to suggest it won't follow the same story but the next 2/3 episodes will surely confirm this one way or another
Jang Hyun is a pragmatist, even if he had told the right people, would they have listened? Based on what I've…
He certainly has his own agenda that has yet to be revealed. Even his relationship with Gil Chae, is it as straightforward as it appears or is there a history here? Disillusioned spectator is apt, is the reason he becomes more involved because he falls in love with Gil Chae? It feels that the drama is approaching a crossroads with his character, with there now being several different directs they could go.
Deluded Gil Chae is so stubborn. Now she is also scheming and manipulative. I guess this will help her soon when…
Jang Hyun is a pragmatist, even if he had told the right people, would they have listened? Based on what I've seen, he would have been dismissed as a coward/traitor. The outcome would likely have been the same. He has also shown he is capable of great kindness, but also he is very ruthless when necessary. Did he calculate the outcomes and make a ruthless decision? Don't forget he called himself a terrible human being.
If for no other reason more people need to be watching this drama, simply because of Namkoong Min. He manages to portray, intelligence, unfathomable, playfulness, combined with that hint of danger. What makes him so good, is how he transitions between the different characteristics so seamlessly.
It's like he's taken elements from his other performances and combined them into this one role.
Exactly my thoughts main lead is pragmatic and realistic he knows what they were facing and it was a complete…
Jang Hyun and Ryang Eum back story has been pretty limited so far, JH appears to have much more experience of the darker elements of the world. RE what do we know about him so far? RE liking JH could have a number of different connotations at this stage.
Very much an episode on the contrast between the silliness of Gil Chae along with the patriotic pride of the scholars against the more pragmatic approach of Jang Hyun and the ruthlessness of the invaders.
I did like the battle scene involving Yeon Jun, provided a true sense of the horrors of war. His realisation that he was completely unprepared for the reality of war was very well done.
Looking at the trailer for ep 4 it looks like the harsh realities will be continued and the silliness that we have had in the first few episodes will disappear.
For the purposes of this drama it might have benefited it, if Oh Jin Seong use of violence had been used less frequently. It has become a distraction. I would add that its not always violence for violence sake, there is often a method to his madness, but it's been overused at this point.
What I do find odd, is that Cha Young Woon if not liked, he certainly is not hated in the same way as Oh Jin Seong.
Cha Young Woon has the perfect track record, he is the smartest person in the room apparently and yet this isn't always the case. As the person leading the investigation, he has made a number of basic mistakes. The most obvious, is the connection that all the victims have to each other, which up until now has still not been investigated.
He is clearly ambitious, consider how he "stole" the case from Go Young Joo. He even challenges his own family when he suspects them of interfering with his career. Yet, he never questions his family's relationship with Bae Min Gyu father. He also seems to have ignored a number of hints that he was the target of Park Ki Young as well.
Oh Jin Seong. use's violence as his weapon, if he perceives this is for the greater good. He cares little for the consequences which can cause more harm than good. Cha Young Woon use's his intelligence as his weapon, and whilst he wants the right outcome his own ambitions appear to factor into some of his choices.
I see both characters as flawed and how they go about their work is clearly different, but the main difference I see, is not the use of violence opposed to intelligence, the main difference is the motivation behind their actions.
The vibe so far from the characters is no one is truly good. Some will be better than others, but that doesn't mean that every choice/action would always be considered moral. They will do bad things if they think they are justified. Make's all the characters more interesting, how far are they prepared to go if they believe they are right?
That's a dynamic opening episode. The contrast between the violence and and the puppy mask with the fireworks background. The entire episode had a tension to it, even the more mundane scenes. Certainly grabbed my attention.
Why was the Jinjin Medical Centre clue seemingly ignored? All the victims were were treated there. Isn't this the basics investigating? Surely someone would follow up on this. Surely this should have been identified earlier? Profiling includes the victims.
Completely aligned with your post! I concur that it might be beneficial for Jin Hee and Eun Mi to contemplate…
Not Others does suggest their happiness is not dependent on any character outside of themselves. The problem with this, is that it would take Eun mi to have personality transplant to accomplish, unless they both accept that nothing will change and embrace that. If that's the case, I really will have wasted 12 hours of my life!
Agree! Please! I think the problem JaeWon had is because of protecting JinHee, He just did it in secret ... I…
Maybe he simply has come to her defence in the past and upset the powers that be? I could be completely wrong of course, just odd no ones talking about the secret!

Jin Hee is Eun MI emotional crutch - she can never grow up without this being removed, Jin Hee just needs her own space, that's not dominated by her mother. Jae Won, I'm putting 2 and 2 together and i might end up with 5. Its not just Jae Won keeping the secret but his seniors would not discuss it with Jin Hee either. Odd no one is talking.. If Jin Hong ever wants a healthy relationship with Eun Mi and Jin Hee something must change, however is he capable of this, I'm not sure either. - "His persistent inquiries about Jin Hee's whereabouts also irk me" love this sentence, very tactfully put!
Rather than what I want to to see happen in the remaining episodes - these are the things that need to happen -
Eun mi - show some understanding towards Jin Hee, she is NOT your best friend she is your daughter.
Jin Hee - live for yourself more - you are not selfish to want a life beyond your mother
Eun mi & Jin Hee - stop living together - break the cycle
Jin Hong - grow a pair! Its time to be Jin Hee dad, stand up for her, show her she is important.
Jin Hong - grow a bigger pair! Stand up for yourself, don't let Eum mi dictate the entire relationship
MI Jung - if Jin Hong DOESN'T grow a pair, find the nearest bathroom and beat the crap out of him again!
Jae Won - share your secret - could this be related to Jin Hee?? That's why he hasn't said anything??
Jin Hee & Jae Won - Its time, seriously your the only reason I'm still watching. (Ok, this is slightly more want than a need, but cut me some slack, I've had to sit and watch 8 episodes of Eun Mi, I deserve this😊😊😊)
The detective talking about his sister was good -
"Do you know why I became a detective?"
"One day, I'm going to cuff her with my own hands and throw her ass in jail"
"That's why I became a cop"
If only I could do this with my own sisters!!
Personally I'm not sure I'm ready for Scarlett- she is mixture of combustible characteristics that sadly often lead to tragedy
As you say, particularly in the film its only right towards the end that Scarlett realises her true feelings, by which point so much tragedy has occurred.
