Yes, there is definitely a dynamic in C-BL that is reccurent. For ABO, to tell the truth I was somehow a bit into that second couple (and they didn't have a much more healthier relationship XD )
Maybe what also does the trick for me about love after addiction is - beside the fact that there is not so much manipulative tension - the fact that I was reaaaaaaally into addicted when it aired. And that time time already I thought Yang Meng character and Chen Wen actor were really cute. His character is more mature and less clueless in there which is nice and they were able to keep the same actor which really made me quite biased about it.

This year there was ABO ... another one which was probably shoot in Thailand ? both had very unhealthy relationships displayed ... ABO has vaguely the excuse of alternative universe ... still not sure how to handle the being raped and then thinking it's okay ... the other drama with manipulative ... super manipulative guy ... and that love hate passive agressive kind of back and forth ... it was not making much sens. But mostly the level of unhealthyness of the relations displayed on those really made me feel uncomfortable.
Comparatively, as for me, this one is ... a bit messy but it seems more likely to happen ... comparatively ...
But I can respect everyone seeing interest in different stories. :3
All in all at least I am having fun ... and enjoy any cuddly moment
