Well I understand that by some (bad) standards he can be described by other characters in the industry 'not pretty'. He has small ayes, small nose ... but I wouldn't say ordinary for sure. Actually I guess we all here, actually feel like the fact that it's not ordinary makes it really nice to see. That's maybe one good thing with thai drama, we sometimes get to have actors with some different features. 💕
or the same age for me (considering the clothes really change our perceptions) but yes I think the actor playing sun has really juvenile features (face wise)

But to be honest, first the atmosphere of the drama defenitely has a dark edge so you should have to brace yourself. Non Consensual scenes are an issue when they are glorified and painted as healthy, sexy, romantic ... that's when we should stay alert.
And finally as you mentionned, I think the scenario was written properly enough that we could guess that the cliffhanger was here to mean that there was more to it.
Each week I am a bit worried this drama might get all wrong but when I come for next episode, so far, it delivers :3

I think there are one or 2 very ... not BL much korean historical BL.
But I think we'll have time to rewatch "Journey with you" ten times before having a next good historical BL.
But then historical drama ... there are legions. :3
(I guess you already watched "Sammy's Children's day" which is not historical but since it's set in the past they gave it that type of yellowish palette.)
some are not into historicals, some find palace schemes difficult to follow, others just don't like the styling…
Also, been thinking of this ... I ponder on the poster of the drama. I don't think the choice of the picture is the best to promote a drama ... to promote a BL. Compared to other historical chinese drama it's not epic much and compared to other BL it's not ... punchy sexy enough.
