I don't quite understand why the hooded man chose to kill him off. I know they needed a scapegoat for the stolen…
Ooh, good points about the Black Dragon Bandits. We know nothing about their current operations. I suspect Prince Ying has been the one supporting them and ordering the Yan family to be killed way back when...
I'd love to know they have a happy ending. It's 50/50 for me right now, HE or BE......
I can't remember when I last waited for an ending like this: maybe with Lost You Forever and Xiang Liu, not knowing until the end what would his ending be. I'm so stressed with TSOPG that I'm waiting until tomorrow to see the next two (36&37), whereas with LYF I watched everything as it aired. LYF is my top C-drama, btw.
Not gonna lie, ep 35 kinda wrecked me a little bit. I could really care less about Shijiu but I held out hope…
the episode and their arc was surprisingly moving since I still don't like Shijui character! lol but Zheng's death - that last hope and dash for freedom and love together - too much of it is reminiscent of what I want for our lead couple too, that the ML can survive, so the 2nd couple not making it makes it seem like no one is going to be happy in a relationship in TSOPG.
Since Xu Nanying is in prison, the case against YZJ was pretty much moot, then. Not a major implausibility for…
but no comment is made by any character anywhere that YZJ is no longer under suspicion....it would be nice to have it said in the show, so we know he is cleared, instead of guessing he is, lol.
I would like to point out this is plot heavy drama with less romance..but their relationship and understanding…
I like their understanding, and how they are together and supporting one another- as friends only, they aren't together in a relationship. I'm still waiting for YZJ to find that peace and braving life's storms with her, since he is still bent on revenge before dying....hoping that his asking about a future that he never thought about, means a HE. I also have to point out that he did break up with her intentionally, in the desert and later when she first sees him, he tells her to never come near him again. So their relationship since then has been a cautious coming together.....and the finger kiss put a kabosh on any kisses between them. It's interesting how we see this differently βΊand yet both of us want them happy together at the end! I agree their friendship is mature, but not seeing any declarations of love at this point....ππ’
**Thoughts after Ep 35*** spoiler alert - I am disappointed that they gave us a great romance and then pulled it back until it disappeared. Ep 17-18, where are you? It seems so long ago.... Ep 35 has him saying he's never thought about a future, and even though she says she will be there, it was like a friend saying it to him. He called her "dear friend" before, and that's where we're at. I know the story is about her not needing anyone, which she repeatedly tells people. She's proven she can succeed on her own, but succeeding on her own doesn't rule out love.
Why did DW invite him to stay with her once he was recovered? I wish we knew her thoughts. And why did he accept the invite, if his being near her is dangerous, which is the whole reason for why he broke up with her? While I love the moments of them being together that results, it isn't the best plot writing. The best character in the second half has been the 2ML, who is getting all the satisfying revenge done for them. I enjoy the camaraderie between the three of them, and how they are supporting DW together. I hope YZJ tells DW that he loves her.....at least before he dies. I've realized that he has been dying for the whole drama, and I have a feeling it's going to end with his death. As far as we know, they aren't looking for a cure for him anywhere. Even if the bandit Li Kui has it, or it's in the red pearl that YZJ has had for all the second half; this part of the plot line has gone on for too long.,,,,I get the feeling that DW is waiting for him to talk to her and say what's going on, but will he? I'm disappointed that we have 5 episodes left, and we're still at this point for them. 30% romance? more like 15%....
imo, it makes sense if he does pass away. because in the context, cures are hard to find and they really just…
Exactly. Before this year in C-drama land, I assumed dead meant dead, lol. So I am assuming that if he dies, that's that, as every other character has remained dead. Which I prefer, overall. So part of my angst is, will he ever tell her about the poison? If he doesn't tell her, will he die, leaving her thinking he didn't love her? And if he lives, how will he explain why he never told her? And why are the writers making this stage go on so long? lol
I don't quite understand why the hooded man chose to kill him off. I know they needed a scapegoat for the stolen…
I have issues with this script too - why is ZSY still alive? Why is CSJ still alive? In that scene, Li Kui should have killed father and son...but I expect it will have to do with drawing the Prince down so the plot can be resolved there and not at the palace.... I wonder, are the writers keeping her alive so that she can kill YZJ if he manages to survive the poison and Li Kui? Like YZJ, she can't let go of revenge....she is the female version of him.
Also disappointed the main leads romance on the 2nd arc was kinda tepid.
It's not even tepid, it's just not there. He's pulled back after the finger kiss, and now they are allies and "dear friends", but nothing more. I was trying to remember how many times they've really kissed, and I think it's once, back in the flower shop yard in ep 17.....I love them as a couple and can feel their chemistry, but his not telling her about the poison has gone on too long. At this point it's 5% romance in this show.....All the jealousy moments have led nowhere, except to indicate he still has feelings for her....the closest moment he has let himself have is to hug her while looking at the city lights.
imo, it makes sense if he does pass away. because in the context, cures are hard to find and they really just…
I've been having anxiety ever since he lied to her and broke her heart, so every episode is a little nerve-wracking until I finish it, lol. Back to anxiety today after today's ep 33.....
[ Peng Pai News ] Interview with Director Xie ZeVisual presentation of The Story Of Pearl Girl It can be said…
I love the last line. ππ―π₯π₯ Thank you for sharing the whole conversation with us. I really enjoy seeing the director's views, and thoughts on making TSOPG and Duanwu's character progress.
So am I, I missed him. I like his character, and that he is so open with DW. I like them together. I also like her with YZJ, so I'm happy with either one! Probably a little more with YZJ because she is so comfortable with him.
Snowfall, wind direction, mr plankton..one more sad ending for me this year and ill literally go mad...so they…
I agree with the noble idiocy thing, and that he could choose to do this with her, and share his last bit of life together....she would want to share the danger with him and help to keep him safe for as long as possible....I think very soon, possibly ZJR will tell her about the spy and betrayal of the convoy - I think she will go to him to ask about what he knows about the bandits, because she can't work with YZR who keeps pushing her away.....and she'll realize what YZJ is doing. Anyway, this theory is keeping me sane today! lol
