seven years later and we're somehow back at square one, i hope the plot doesn't get too lost cause we started…
I think Sang-cheol will end up together with Jeong-bun and become Su-jin's great stepfather. That is, if Driver Kim (Su-jin's biological father) doesn't block them along the way.
You should watch this drama for: - the friendship between almost every one of the characters in the drama; - the found family -- with new sisters and the kids; and - the in-between "more than friends, but not (yet) dating" relationship, they are so cute.
I have watched episode 8, and I really love this drama so much.
It's not the love triangle (or square, or pentagon or whatever) that matters. It's their FRIENDSHIPS that matter, and they are very beautiful. Not the love or romance.
Not only friendship between Yeong-rye and Jong-hee, but it's also friendship between Yeong-rye and Jae-pil, Jae-pil and Jong-hee, Yeong-rye and Jung-hyun, Yeong-rye and her "sisters" Jeong Bun and Ho Sook, the two Man-oks (Yeong-rye's mom and Jae-pil's mom), among others.
So many recognisable and talented young actresses in this drama.
Kim Tae Yeon (little Aesun in When Life Gives You Tangerines) became the teen version of Seri (the young version was played by Oh Eun-seo in the earlier episodes).
Kim Kyu Na (Se-eun in Hunter with a Scalpel) became the middle schooler version of Yeong Mi.
Lee Chae Yu (little Nuri in My Youth) became Su Jin, the daughter of Yeong Rye's friend who got pregnant by the bus driver/playboy.
Some might find this drama to be a bit boring. I admit it's quite a slow burn -- but the drama is very beautiful. The acting, the cinematography, the dialogue, and the chemistry between the characters are top-notch. Yes, there's a high possibility of a potential sad ending, but the overall drama is so beautiful.
I love the relationship between Hae and Jeyeon. How she tries to understand him and not barging in when she saw Hae was struggling in pain near the toilet -- instead of hugging him and trying to comfort him, she went back to the table pretending to wait for him as per what he asked. So beautiful.
I also love the brotherhood relationship between Hae and Seok-joo, although they are not really biologically related. I love how they take care of each other like real brothers. I also love how they take care of Nuri, their little sister who is not really their biological sister (not even half sister).
The only one I don't really like is how Chan (Hae's dad) seems to be getting a redemption by being accepted by Nuri and Seok-joo. FGS, he abandoned Nuri and Hae when they were still young! Make no mistakes, I really like Jo Han-chul as an actor, but I really despise the Chan character. I wish Hae would not forgive him until he dies (or whoever dies first).
Yes, in Beauty and Mr Romantic, she abandoned her son (the ML) when he was still a baby. She left the baby in front of her friend's house, and the ML was then raised by her friend.
If you can see it that way, you will appreciate the drama even more.
IU kissed 3 different actors in her latest drama When Love Gives You Tangerines.
