Ja, the fanfic on AO is something else. Anyway, I am anyway ok with the ending as it is. We know it’s happy 😃.
Probably material for about five more episodes is lying about somewhere….over the rainbow….

The fruit episode was funny. I did rewatch it like thrice, but the BTS for that was priceless too.
As for how he handled her leaving to meet up with her sister: he was strict to her, a bit. But then he went to the imperial thunder platform to get the punishment in her stead. He was already head over heels, just didn’t realize it yet.

And considering that what he was most worried about, that his mission is to die for the nation, nothing else, and knowing she stays behind alone.
This is why it’s so fantastic how he puts it later when he is whole again, to his father in the big hall : this life I got from her and I’ll live well for her and with her (or something like this). Too many epic quotes in this drama.

By the wat if you like his acting, he was like 23 or so in GMP. And still acting that impresses to that degree. Heavy story but very good one.

Hi everyone! Just discovered this gem yesterday and got up to episode 6. Have no idea of background but it looks like THE dark horse by iQiyi so far this year. So far very surprising plot and good acting. Some things I haven’t seen before or imagined happening.

How is it faring with you all? I didn’t want to be spoiled so haven’t read he comments.

By the way for if you want something new, iQIYI came with what probably is a new dark horse: Pledge of Allegiance. Be prepared: no romance and not for the faint hearted. The heavenly emperor from here is there as well, doing his worst! Brilliant story and acting. Maybe see u on that page.

And I heard in one of the interviews that it was the actors idea (CXX) to have the scene like that (eg open eyes). The script was old fashioned dead with closed eyes.
Apparently he directed some other things too in the drama .
