I couldn’t get past the first 5 or 6 episodes of TBW. Not for me. Was interesting to learn is from the same director.
Heaven and earth difference from Ancient love poetry (again just for me). The latter, I also loved the OST a lot.

Don’t understand a word of Chinese but watched the whole hour and a half. He and Landi Li are both in this tv show from sometime after summer 2022. Check out his archery skills! From minute 23 or so onward. Seriously, is there something this man can’t do?

You are right. He makes beautiful photographs. The one he took of Landi where she looks back at him from the chair is iconic, thanks for sharing the respective tweet.
Also, one of my all time fave moment in the TSL is exactly the moment he draws her in and twists her during the epic first fight with CH. that was his idea? Wow.

Why unpopular? We needed him for the super romantic YQ in the upgraded merged version! Also, if I am honest, the scene where he made her that fantastic umbrella (never seen such thing until now) is my fave scene with him.
Like the iconic kiss trough the veil is the scene with Lamy that I won’t forget. And the scene when they run, with Mei Q , when he fell in love with her.

By the way, they always said it was the shards who had to fall in love with her, but there were moments when I thought, no, she had to fall in love with all three of them. What do you think?

The female lead is such a good actress
Anyway, it is of course always a personal opinion. The proof is always in the eating of the proverbial pudding:).

It’s interesting how they film all scenes almost like randomly qua sequencing. In all drama I think. I interesting job, this acting. Doing your thing in front of a green screen , I wonder how does one get in the mojo of the feelings etc. Especially these fantasy dramas are probably just as much a surprise for the actors as they are for us when they are out 🙃

Yea that’s why I am still advocating here to all (new and old) viewers to pretty please rate each episode if you like the drama, so that it ends higher in the rating.
I wonder what does it need to get some cult status like Eternal Love (one of the first ones of its kind) and LBFAD (some novelty there that skyrocketed it great watch value).

I feel a hot potato emerging around who should be his FL next. A bit scared of having Esther there ( however lovely she was in the Victoria song drama what was it called, after that in LBFAD, where she also was great, but now I am a bit cautious). But who then? I feel he could have good chem with the FL from Ancient love poetry, if it is a serious drama. What do you think?

Well, if I think about it, I liked the following the most

1. The starry love / for all obvious reasons (almost 19.000 and counting!)
2. Ancient love poetry ( I still can’t get over the perfectly executed tropes! The elegance of both main leads).
3. Eternal love (was my first encounter with Vin Zhang, he was so beautiful in that one! Gosh)
4. Love and redemption (the epic scene in one of the first episodes, when the character of Cheng Yi introduces his fighting g skills at the begging of the competition is very impressive, for me)
5. Ashes of Love (rewatched like five times, it’s like comfort food to me; I love there all acting, from good to bad; really hated the “stop love” thing in her heart, I know it’s part of the story, but it manifested in “stop thinking and be a dumb child” instead (sorry, love and peace, still magic story).
6. LBFAD (I found the story and acting by the male protagonists very good - all three of them; plus it was a novelty qua dialogue - still remember Dylan telling her he would love to kill het in million ways… but he can’t. You know the scene with the huge cauldron in the dark city).

Anyway, just my list. And indeed I feel a lot for the second male lead in miss the dragon. That stunning charismatic man has some period drama coming up soon as well.

The last ten seconds of the first episode. When she wants to betray him and he selflessly says “don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you”. And how his face looked then. I thought I die. And second moment during same fight , beginning of second episode, after CF throwing that chain Sabre thing at him and how he solved it, two seconds slow motion of his face again (we see how Landi falls for him). I believe that was also the moment for her to notice him like a potential partner.

Fingers crossed! There was something they were not allowed to talk about during one of the interviews , perhaps something in the make. I want him as a sexy vampire with his lovely lady . I know I am saying this for the sixth time in this chat , one may keep the faith!
